I was noticing too, the 'sale price/sold out' items. I was thinking there must of been a very short window of anything actually selling for the sale price shown, and who knows how long ago it was. It must be like sniping an eBay auction at the last few seconds. I keep checking every day for something I would want to go on sale, but it hasn't happened yet, and I have looked since January! LOL It does so seem fake/rigged to me. I think the Star Wars sale at the beginning of the month was only partly real, like others have said, maybe there were only a small number of each of the sets available for 50% off, and they were snapped up within minutes of the start of the sale, I was using the list on 'The Brick Fan' site to go by and didn't have a chance. The only things that were available after that first couple minutes were the ones at 10% off, which was about a dollar or two discount...hardly worth it..

I've just been back into Lego since the start of this year, and the boxes have begun to pile up. I want to keep them all, and I also keep all the bags. I open them with scissors and only cut about half way, so its mostly all intact. If I ever wanted to sell them, I figured that was best to have all the bits that came in the set. I even keep the sticker sheets after they have been peeled off and used. They do have a part number on each, might be useful to have that on hand. I am also creating a file drawer with all the instructions, each set in its own folder...

My local TRU didn't have anything new yet, only the Ultra Agents Mission HQ was new far as I could tell..I should of figured LOL, I never go to that store usually...

I've yet to buy anything without this kid on the instructions, glad to hear they are changing him out. My question is...has anyone actually won anything? ;-)

The FM shows as out of stock on the US S@H site, log in and its 'available' with a limit of 2. Too bad its not a few bucks off for VIP's....haha! I don't think I want it yet...for one thing, I don't have enough space for it right now...

I would love to be able to buy a set of specific parts/colors. I look at S@H and all there is are a couple buckets of mixed small parts available to buy bulk. I remember my old Legos from the 60's and they were all white or red, with some yellow and blue. I could build all sorts of building with them. For now, I am using LDD to be creative, not actually building my own designs...

I guess I am a lightweight too, at a paltry 30808 bricks according to brickset. Then again, I have just gotten back to Lego since January..I only had my old sets from the 1970's up till then.

I have gotten a lot already this year, but currently the 'want' list is: 60036 - Arctic Base Camp, to get the huskies and there is a polar bear too.. 60052 - Cargo Train, pricey, so may have to wait on that one, it looks like it has a lot to it.. 31026 - Bike Shop and Cafe, to be kind of a bridge between my modulars and my City sets.. 40108 - Balloon Cart freebie, looks like fun to have... I am sure I will be getting something else to have it thrown in.. 7346 - Seaside House, its a 2012 Creator set, and I am thinking its going to get retired soon... BTW, I was looking at Toys R Us site, and found the retired 'City Garage' 4207 still available, for $99.98, the original price was $120, so I got one. Have to price check them though, a lot of what they have is marked way up, the Town Hall is $250! Its $199 on Lego Shop at Home!

Must of added the floor tiles, I don't think it comes with any in the set.

I just put together City 'Town Square' #60026 on Friday, I spread it over two rainy days, to meter out the stickers. I had a little trouble getting them straight, but was able to use an exacto knife to help put them on evenly. One was crooked, after I got it on, and I was able to slip the knife under it to pull it off and try again. It worked. I know now to never press them on tight till really sure they are right! I think the stickers do add a lot to the interest of a set, usually. So I have been putting them on when I get them. I would like printed pieces though, if possible..

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

If the Parisian Restaurant came out in January, would there likely be another modular this year? I would love to have another to build...sooner than later....Haha! I added the Haunted House to my street, its next to the PR, but I think its bad for business, its scaring off the punters..! ;-) -
I have mine arranged with the right side of the PR as an alley, to get to the back of the other buildings, so there is space around it, also so its easier to use the stairs on that side too.

I was wondering if I could get some light bricks to incorporate into some of my sets, and have been looking, but as far as I can tell, you can't buy them individually. I can only see them being available in a few sets, like the 'Family House' and some of the Winter Village type sets. Am I missing something, is there a way of getting them?

I got a Fire Brigade 10197 that was missing an entire sub-bag, of 102 pieces, that was shocking! That set was loaded with a lot of parts for some other set, I guess equivalent weight to the parts I really needed. I had one part that was the wrong color, in my Town Hall set, but that one I just swapped the part with one of the right color that would be completely hidden on another part of the wall. Just today though, I was putting together the Brick Calendar 853195 I bought and discovered I am missing the '10' brick...so until I get that, I don't get to have the 10th of the month, just a blank day ;-)~ I got a extra blank piece, so the part count was right, just not the 'right' parts! At least its easy to get replacements, just have to wait weeks for them to arrive.

I think only the townhouse with the PetShop set has a bathroom included, under the stairs.

That's close to what I paid for my FB I got about a month ago here in the US. I got mine through an Amazon.com vendor.

I finally got my missing parts bag and finish my FB and like it a lot, except the tree. The tree looks pretty sad, maybe it needs more branches... I might take it out, put in the back, then put a fire hydrant in its spot on the sidewalk. I only had a little bit of trouble with the '1932' part of the cornice. Some of it just won't stay aligned, it looks a little crooked. I am pretty particular about getting all the tiles square and aligned so it bothers me a little. Haha! Since I got one of the sets that had the missing bag of parts, I realize now it must of got a batch of parts for some other set. A ton of the leftovers have nothing to do with the set. Add them to my spare parts bin.

The Super Star Destroyer has been out of stock for a while now on shop.lego.com, it currently says out of stock, with no date for availability, so maybe its already too late..

Review: 10228 Haunted House

This set was on my 'B' list to get, and finally got around to buying it. It came yesterday, and I opened the box and all sorts of parts spill out. I first thought it might of been a returned item, and someone had opened some of the bags, but now realize that it was just one of the bags was not sealed right, and it was half opened, and the parts spilled out inside the box. I did a count and they all seem to be there. The seals were not broken on the box. I did notice one thing, on one of the stickers. There is one that I guess is supposed to be a poster about a contest, and it says "...Catch a zombie! Win the big price." I think it is supposed to say 'win the big prize.' Looks like a lot of fun to build! -
What great photos, they bring back a lot of my own memories of playing with my Lego bricks back in the late 60's. I still have them in the family, though now a lot of them are so worn down from use that they won't stay together. I remember the flat bushes and trees, I never got too many of them. My bricks were all red or white, and I had enough to build a lot of big buildings. Never enough windows though.

Fantastic, this is the way it should of been done, but size/cost would get in the way... Oh and finally an up AND down escalator...just great...Nice job.

I have mainly only gotten large sets and they have the numbered bags, but like said, Tower Bridge, which just came on Friday..yay! doesn't have numbered bags..and its the 3rd largest set so far! I am in trouble..haha. I like the bags numbered so I can stage the build, mainly due to the size of my table, its not enough space to spread out more than 5 or so bags of parts at a time. I always sort everything into like pieces before I start building. I find that a lot of fun, to look at each piece and try and guess where each goes, and how its used. Everyone has their own way of approaching, and help can either be taken or ignored, ie the numbers on the bags.
