    [MOC] Mercedes G-Class SWB

That was just lucky, I'd been working on it for a long time! I broke some U-joints a while back and learned my lesson The color is red, just the pictures were overexposed as you say.

    Nissan Hardbody 4x4 [WIP]

I've always wanted to build a car myself that can be both fast and trial truck at the same time. Good luck!

    Thanks, I really did try!

    [MOC] Mercedes G-Class SWB

Thanks so much guys for the support! It was a lot of work, and it did turn out pretty decent, and I'm glad it's liked. In answer to the pendular questions, that's cause car doesn't go fast enough to need up and down suspension, and it's the only way to avoid universal joints which would break under the strain of two XL's.

Thanks, rm8! I chose pendular because the car doesn't go fast enough to need up and down suspension, and it's the only way to avoid universal joints which would break under the strain of two XL's.
  7. Hello everybody. My next MOC is a mini T815 with 8 x 8 drive powered by 2 x L. The model was built to climb the maximum possible slope, while looking good and having high ground clearance. Therefore, the cabin is very heavy too, and all weight very low to stop it from falling over. It also enough torque so as never to run out. Suspension is half-axles, tatra style. A video showing all the features: Another title photo And showing the mechanics: I hope you all like it!

I used ZBLJ's idea for the suspension, but the chassis and body are original. Also skid steer is where either side of a car are separately powered to steer when turned in opposite directions, like a tank.

Thanks! It's true, skid steer is not as cool, but I was doing everything to keep it small and powerful to climb the 70 degree slope!
  10. They should also make another powerful engine for speed, like the old RC's

Yes, the suspension is similar, except for the front-most which uses rubber bands in a way that allows up and down, and side to side motion, so that the truck does not flip when it hits an object at high speed.

You're MOC was used as a baseline. I wanted to make a more powerful version. But the chassis is really similar otherwise. The suspension is made for side to side, not up and down, to handle terrain, not comfort. Here's a picture: DSC01100 by teo_technic, on Flickr It uses rubber bands and rubber 1x2's.

After my big last MOC with a lot of torque, I wanted something small and effective.

In real life, the axles are all driven by a single central drive shaft, and are in line with each other. I used two drive shafts to allow skid steering.

I did try to keep it as small as possible, because heavier models need more torque than lego can take.

It was hard to do better in such a small place, and Madoca's does indeed look similar. I used a rechargeable battery box, tucked in at the back of the cabin, and gearing 2:1 for each L.

Thanks! originally I wanted it to be very fast, to minimize the trouble with too much torque. Then I decided to make it be good at slopes, so I geared down the L's a lot.

    [TC6] Wall-E

Amazing Wall-e! Can't wait to find out more about the 'surprise' feature
  19. Hello everybody, My first MOC to be posted on Eurobricks is the CAT D9 bulldozer. My goal with this MOC was to make it look as good as I could while still working as well as I should like. It has these functions, all controlled by power functions: -blade powered by 1 x M-motor -ripper powered by 1 x M-motor -treads powered by 2 x L-motor, 1 on each side for skid-stearing -two pairs of LED lights with hidden switch Pictures of the model: Here is the link for a video that demonstrates all functions. If someone could tell me how to embed it, I would be very grateful, as I could not figure it out

Thanks so much! That was the original concept, but I changed it later as it looked ugly.

Cylinders would have been ugly to gear, because the gears would have to show, so I decided to use the 8375 mechanism, as it is quite strong. and use the cylinders only as dummies, since they actually look like cylinders.

I already have a flickr account; that's where I saved all the pictures I posted here. Thanks for the advice, Jim!
