    [WIP] Tatra 6x6 midscale

I'm hoping that when the truck is finished the suspension will be about half-pressed, which will make the wheels closer to vertical as you say. Here's what I've got so far, with the red parts showing where the cab will be. It turns out I have a good amount of space. I could even try adding in a gearbox, however the performance will probably be best without. Do you think it'll be heavy enough to compress the springs? They're LEGO's weakest grey ones, and twice the weaker due to mechanical advantage from being positioned halfway down the half-axle, roughly. IMG_6552 by Teo's Technic, on Flickr I'm quite happy with the robustness so far, and wheel travel. The steering is also very precise, despite having a fairly small turning radius.

I was looking through some of yours for inspiration this morning, awesome builds! I think I'll keep it simple myself haha

[MOC] Class 1 Brian Ickler Buggy

You're right rm8. Hopefully someday. My next build is going to be a slower, indoor type of car though so I should be ok for now By the way I love your super fast baja, it was an inspiration for this build!

Thanks! You're very right. I tried out a couple different roof designs, but decided I was starting to make it too detailed and loaded, as I have a tendency to do, which would reduce performance due to added weight. Haha yes I got them when I was a kid with the Supersonic RC.

[MOC] Class 1 Brian Ickler Buggy

Pretty well! It drifts nicely. I was actually surprised but it never fell off, there's no torque on it so that helps, it just has to turn the wheel. Thanks! I only found a blueprint for the side view, so I had to approximate the width. These cars are pretty wide for stability. 68050-1332394005-gtaiv-2012-03-22-09-22-23-43 by Teo's Technic, on Flickr That's the original I was modelling. What do you think?

    Awesome! Loving the engine details.
  8. Here's the beginning guys, after a long break a new MOC, the famous group B Audi Quattro rally car. All I've got so far is a front. IMG_3652 by Teo's Technic, on Flickr I'm thinking to make the bottom part of the bumper white, and also fenders and a line along the bottom all around the car white as well.

    [MOC] MAN TGS Dakar Truck

You guys are right the proportions aren't exactly on, but it was the closest I could do due to the size of the axles. Also the back is non-Technic because it was getting too heavy, and already the truck is much slower than the chassis alone.
  10. Hey everyone, Here it is, after about half a year of on and off work, my new MOC, a working model of a MAN TGS Dakar Truck. A video showing all the functions: The chassis is entirely LEGO, and has: -Servo steering -4x4 transmission -2x buggy motor drive -live axles on front and back -opening doors -working lights It also has custom stickers, as well as a box for the rear, made of styrofoam board, acrylic stickers, glue, plastic sheets, and regular stickers, which took a while to perfect, but turned out pretty well in the end. Hope you guys like it!

What do you think? should I make the bumper all white or all red?

DSC03169 by Teo's Technic, on Flickr Here's some more front bodywork. All the lights are gonna be like the one sticking out, but I'll have to buy some more parts for that, so for now just imagine it.

    [WIP] Audi Quattro Rally Car

It's going to be powered by two RC's, and all red with a white stripe along the bottom. I'll use the wheels from the new container truck.

I love the front! It looks exactly like a japanese drift car, and the bumper has a nice geometric shape.
  16. Hello everyone, Here's my newest MOC, a Mercedes G-Class. After months of hard work, and bugs and fixes, it's finally finished. It was built to incorporate all of the best elements of high-torque gearing with a compact bodywork. It features: -Drive - 2 x XL, geared 4.5 : 1 -Steering - 1 x Servo -Lights - 6 x LED with hidden switch -Suspension - pendular A video showing all features: Pictures:
  17. I think you should try going through the instructions of something like the 8258 crane truck, or the 8070 for inspiration. Also, for mudguards, it's best to use the curved liftarms or curved connectors

Good idea! I'll do that in future.
  19. This really tops the list of the finest compact TECHNIC cars!

    [MOC] Mercedes G-Class SWB

By using the servo directly in the axle, with a big mechanical advantage from the long arm, the steering turned out quite strong and precise. The down side is that it still needs a lot of space I didn't unblock it myself because I added music-connected effects which look strange if I changed the song.

Hands down, ZBLJ, one of the finest Technic trucks ever! A 3 kg beast that goes that fast is something pretty amazing.
