    Help with identifying parts/sets!

    Maybe this one : http://www.technicopedia.com/8852.html
  2. Thank you Diego Baca! That is very helpful information.
  3. This is a needed topic. I hope some solutions are shared here.

Do these bricks lock ? :)

61684 is not a part number. I don't mean to confuse everyone but, (from Bricklink) the two currently made 4x4 turntable parts that lock are: "Turntable 4 x 4 x 1 1/3 with Black Square Base, Locking (87081 / 61485)".
  5. When there just isn't a suitable solution using unmodified parts for a build, I do cut parts. For example: I just tried using 22484 bar with towball, which works well if you cut off a couple mm from the end of the bar. Also part 65578 works very well when placed similarly to 79194/25893. Part 65578 must be fully seated to work well and not be too tight/long. 22484 65578

    Where to sell

"Also if bits are missing is it acceptable to replace with a new piece (same size and colour of course)". Used sets are definitely worth more if they are complete. For value check prices on Bricklink or https://www.brickeconomy.com/

Do these bricks lock ? :)

The normal top for this base is 30658 which has ribs that lock inside the ring and a center snap portion that goes into the hole of the base. What is the part number for this dark tan piece? Look at the underside of both this part and 30658. You will see what is needed.

    Modifying MOCS

I'm flattered when someone wants to build or modify my work, especially when I have worked so hard at it. I definitely expect to have my work credited to me. Yes, I give credit when I'm inspired by someone else's work, even when it is only a small but unique portion.

You need to talk to Battery Powered Bricks on Youtube. This just one of his many helpful videos:

    Confusing kit layout

This set came out like in 2016. I don't think Lego was doing that yet. My Instructions (US) do not have numbered bags, but do have 4 sections. Something else you might want to consideris when building this: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-5236/Didumos/42056-porsche-911-gt3-rs-unofficial-errata/#details

James Mathis' Santa Fe Dome Car

Thank you! I was able to open it finally, but it already had an MPD extension on the file name. MLCAD recognised it as a txt file, said "open anyway?" Since nothing else was working, I went with it. It opened! Who knew? It seems the "txt" file extension was not visible (or apparent).

    Another Newbie

Hello and Welcome, welcome! If no one has said before, I'm gonna say it now: "Lego is not just for kids, it's a hobby for and by adults too!!" I've been lovin it and yes, playing with it for 60 years!!

James Mathis' Santa Fe Dome Car

When you go to: James to build another dome, Then " V2", then "Instructions": there is an MPD file there. That is an LDraw code list for instructions. How does a person get that code into MLCAD or LDview, LDcad, Stud.io? Copy/Paste doesn't work for MLCAD.

James Mathis' Santa Fe Dome Car

There are sveral links here. There is a link to LDRAW code on Brickshelf: https://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/timgould/Trains/10022mod/observationcar.mpd . There should be a way to create building instructions from it. It has two submodels. From my search, Tim Gould's MOC is also involved or at least he made the LDraw files. This is a beauty!! Nice Job, especially the rudder! I would love to see how you built the system to steer the rudder.

DIY complete Lego 9V compatible railway

Would you explain a bit more on what this is? Could you show an example of this or share a link. Where can it be bought, etc.?
  23. I now have part 2393 (cross block with two pins) so I can build this. Rebrickable explains the difference between these rwo parts, Long or short, 79194 & 25893: https://rebrickable.com/parts/79194/plate-round-1-x-1-with-hollow-stud-and-bar-on-underside-long-space/. I do have the long version part (79194) and find that a little longer wouldn't hurt. The 1L bar with towball, 67692, is too long but it's bar fits nice and tight into 79194. So, I think I'll just cut it to length... It works for me! It only costs $0.08.
  24. Thanks for your previous answer. I have (the wrong part) 79194 that I put together with 67692, which probably makes the towball extend too long for this application?, true? The ball of the microphone has to be halfway into the pinhole? Is the shortness of the 25893 definitely required? Or (I can't tell) is it required for how the microphone fits into it?
