Having recently picked up this set, there were a few things that really irritated me about TLG's design. Limited by my spare piece collection (a disassembled UCS AT-ST) and a desire to keep the majority of the original design, so begins my return to building. 1. The Wings One word: fragile. Quite simply, a 3M cross axle and a 1x2 brick with cross hole helped a lot but the real strength comes from the straight beam. The addition of the hinge at the body "forces" the straight beam into a half block shift from its starting point on the wing. I guess this would technically be considered an illegal connection (??) but the only negative I see is a slight downward tilt of the wings. 2. Weapon Storage Nobody I know flies their spaceship while holding a blaster. A minor reorganisation of plates in the nose section and more hinges provided a solution I am particular chuffed about. 3. The cockpit Seriously, who flies a spaceship sitting on a 2x2 brick? I really liked (read: was smitten with) the cockpit from Stefan's SlaveI MOC but I had none of the pieces necessary to recreate it. Some very vague similarities can be seen and, once again, my own spare parts really limited what I could do. The biggest thing was making an enclosure that would rotate properly within the confines of the model AND whilst maintaing the missile firing system*... which this one does. Admittedly, this design will probably change when my spare parts inventory increases. *not sure why I kept it though it will probably go when I look to provide internal seating for passengers. Suggestions and constructive criticism would be greatly appreciated.

I can't help but keep coming back to this MOC. The sheer enormity of the build is quite simply amazing.

Went to Northlands TRU today and they're atill running 20% off all LEGO. Still had a couple sets each of the Silver Mine Shootout and the Colby City Showdown, for any Lone Ranger fans out there. Also had a few Echo Base sets as well as Jabba's Sail Barge and Palpatine's Arrest. -

Has anyone actually bought from ShopForMe? One of their shipping options is to pick up in store but the address given is actually a cafe on Lygon St, Brunswick??? -
Bearing in mind the preliminary box artwork, my guess would be the latter.

These struck me as the most interesting from the blog entry: Jedi Hunter Frontier (set #75051, $69.99, 490 pieces) — This is the only set for 2014 from the continuing Yoda Chronicles. It features JEK-14 along with Hammerhead, RA-7 protocol droid, and an astromech. AT-AT (set #75054, $119.99, 1,138 pieces) — The snowspeeder needs a companion piece and the AT-AT is the perfect match; it seems a little bit smaller than previous releases but comes with five minifigures, including AT-AT Driver, General Veers, Snowtrooper Commander, and two Snowtroopers. Imperial Star Destroyer (set #75055, $149.99) — This set looks incredible, and much more stable than the previous release. It also features six minifigures including Darth Vader, two Stormtroopers, and three Imperial Officers, as well as a highly detailed Emperor Palpatine hologram microfigure!

Just amazing. The look of the hangar interior is spot-on and I love how the control room has "cobbled together" elements to break up its perceived cleanness.

Finally found this set for a good price: Also picked up this book for $10...

Very creative build. I really like the design through the back half and how you achieved the curvature of the engines.

If it were me, I'd want it to be my interpretation. Amazing work. -
Yes but it's particularly uninteresting. It's quite simply part of my surname with my initials.
