Different strokes, my friend. I personally dislike yellow; looking like no one (imo) does not make it representative of everyone. For me, part of what brought me out of my dark ages was seeing various real world flesh tones :) It's just disappointing to see how limited their "diversity" is but, it is what it is. M'Baku is a character in the upcoming Black Panther film; played by Winston Duke (in the comics he's Man-Ape). He has a full beard, so while I appreciate the goatee head suggestions, none really work. Thanks for taking the time to post them, though :) (W'Kabi, another character from the film, has a semi goatee, which is why I listed the Barry head - most of the men in the film have full beards)

After spending an hour or two on BrickLink looking for pieces I might not be familiar with (to use for an unmasked T'Challa and other BP customs), I am disappointed to report my findings: There are only THREE reddish brown/Black heads with beards in their database. Mordo (Dr. Strange) Close, but for me - A little more aggressive than pensive looking. BA Baracus (A-Team Dimension) Beard is too thick, and also angry looking. Maybe okay for M'Baku? Have to see the film. Barry (Jurassic World) A goatee instead of a full beard. Which might actually work for W'Kabi, so there was a find. I'm not sure if hair would be better off Mr. T's Mohawk, or that orcish Mohawk from Hobbit (But I am think some LOTR/Hobbit body might replicate the movie look?) For female PoC, I could find: Valkyrie (Thor) is nougat (medium dark flesh) instead of reddish brown, but the facial markings would work for a lighter skinned, tattooed Dora; I *think the head is dual sided though (bricklink shows two pictures but they are both the same) So it might require erasing a side, or a hair piece Barbara Gordon (LBM, Uniformed Police officer) again nougat. But it seems to be single sided. Mae Jemison (Woman of NASA) This is good one, BUT it's double sided, and in a popular set. Patty Tolan (Ghostbusters) Again, a good one, but double sided. Storm (X-Men) Double sided, Full white eyes on one side (which may or not be ok depending on your aesthetic). Stass Allie (Star Wars) THIS IS NOT MY FIND, someone suggested it to me, and I still think it's perfect! Although I am happy that I found some things that might prove useful (to someone), I have to admit - Now I am even more disappointed neither set included an alternate unmasked BP head (and that "Tactical" Killmonger just has a generic/looks nothing like Michael B. Jordan head). At least with the DST minimates you can remove the masks and they look close enough to recognize. LEGO really doesn't have a lot of variety in PoC heads.(Considering I went through hundreds to find a handful). Anyways I hope it helps a customizer! If anyone uses any of the ideas please post them I would love to see!

I really can't wait until the pictures are released, not because I am impatient to see them, but so that pages and pages of this thread aren't just random descriptions; if there are pictures, share them. Create a throwaway account or PM to someone that can.... if not, what is the point of pages of "I've seen this (countless oh, me too!) and you can't see but I'd like to show you but I can't because nonsensical reasons?". LEGO is a weird company. They waste $ on salaries to harass people that share things that interest people in their products. Free advertisings/hype machine? No thanks, let's get Instagram accounts shut down. Let's send legal jargon. /boggle.

That Stass Allie is a GREAT idea! She's a bit pricey for a head, but I am shopping around now :) I don't find the eye color that odd at all, when you have the markings/tattoos that makes it feel a little more Wakandian. Ayesha body is also a good idea and I have her already, just need to get some spare arms, the hairpiece from ghostbusters, and settle on a head. I am still browsing different parts for M'Baku and W'Kabi (and legs to replace Nakia and Okoye's, and a decent/convincing "unmasked" head for T'Challa) I'll post if I find anything I think clicks :) Thanks for the great ideas!

I just picked up the Black Panther sets yesterday, and it got me thinking.... And I can't really come up with anything so thought I'd ask (You guys are more knowledgeable about pieces than I; I basically just collect Super Heroes with a odd set here and there so not familiar with many pieces), Anyone have any purist ideas for Shuri (I know we're getting an official one with IW, but I really like the BP movie look over the rather plain looking one), M'Baku, or W'Kabi? Or thoughts on legs that would be superior to the non-printed ones on Nakia or Okoye? And any head/face that would work for an unmasked T'Challa? Someone in another thread suggested General Zod (LBMs2) arms for CW/Silver Suit BP, which might look ok with Zod (man of steel legs) to be a fully printed fig. Also any ideas on dark brown female heads/faces that are single sided? I am not going to go all out and make a whole army, but I am going to try to get at least 1 or 2 extra Nakia torso's for Dora Millaje (or maybe just Ayo!). Thanks for taking the time to read :)

I did try actually. But on the CW they line up with the head print (the lines go right from face to ear), on the talon fighter, it doesn't look "bad" just not as cohesive since it doesn't line up. And thanks for the Zod arm printing in LBM tip! I had only glanced at those figs so far going to go look for a pic :)

Picked up the Black Panther sets earlier (along with a couple of minimates and the Legends figs). The TRU display was facing AWAY from the entrance, tucked in a little side area. It was impressive but hard to find.... (Still featured right as you walked in was Justice League). Not trying to do a full review but just a few points/thoughts since I just finished the builds: The smaller set had seals, the larger set was glued (since I always check the seals I was baffled at first). I thought LEGO went with seals for cost effectiveness? The minifigs are cool. But I don't get why CW Black Panther had more printing (his ear piece was printed, and looked great with Zod legs for a full detailed silver look). Moving backwards always strikes me as odd. Both Panthers are alright though. I would have loved an unmasked face/head (but I'll find one that could pass as T'Challa and purist one eventually). Tactical Killmonger has a generic face underneath the mask which was a little disappointing. Okoye and Nakia are nice aside from no leg printing (which is more sharply noticed when you look at the minimate set that has them both). Klaue's cannon is pretty neat. If some of the posts above are correct, and they'll be Shuri's gloves as well, perfectly ok with me :) I don't get the rhino. It's a neat little build, but I don't know if it's a robot, a cyborg, or a tamed rhino. The mine cart is future looking and enjoy the design (I might repurpose the Lone Ranger silver mine into a vibranium mine ;) ) The Talon Fighter was actually a pretty fun build, and wonderful swoshability. I might actually grab another 1 or 2 of these if they are used a bit in the film; they really do put the jet from CW to shame (imo). I'm very interested to read more about the upcoming IW Wakanda set. I've been a Black Panther (comics) fan for decades... The film, the recent influx of many comic titles, the merchandise, heck, just the display at TRU; all a little surreal to me in a way (in a good way)!

I'm a bit confused, so maybe someone can clear it up; Is a Shuri minifig a rumor/speculation or confirmed somewhere? (Not an actual photo, I mean just confirmation that she's coming from a set list or something?)

Aquaman's skin doesn't look like that nougat/darker skin tone; I wonder if that's lighting or if it's a repeat of the BvS Aquaman action figure that was super pale looking/off source :(

Marvel Superheroes 2016 Rumors And Discussion
The-Daryl replied to Quicksilver's topic in LEGO Licensed
We've had a gazillion spidey's. Hopefully the mystery/spoiler of the 4th set is Quicksilver still being alive (I mean really, we've known since last year Spidey was in this; first leaked photos of the actor, then RDJ confirming it offhandedly). I think it's just weird to me there is so much excitement over a character that has had 2 film franchises, and countless animated adventures since the 60/70's being a "spoiler"/reason to hide a set. EDIT: The *real* awesome part of Civil War is Black Panther's cinematic debut :) -

Not every movie gets 3 sets. Maybe Spider-Man won't. (Ant-Man and Doctor Strange just got a single set each). 2017 has THREE MCU/Marvel movies (GotG vol2, Spider-man, and Thor 3). Who knows what'll be the "full" wave that year. Or maybe all 3 will only get a single set (or no sets at all like prior Thor or Cap America films). -

I would have preferred a fully molded cowl/helmet (of course I would have liked one for Cap, too). But this piece is already finally giving us White Tiger later this year, and as several folks have pointed out: flipping it around would make for a great Daredevil. Maybe when Black Panther's solo film comes out they might update the figure. I'm fine with the headpiece overall, it's freakin Black Panther in LEGO form! -

Finally found the Black Panther set. Love the minifigure! I tried Zod's legs, but in hand it makes it seem too busy (to me, just personal taste). The jet is interesting, but if not in the movie it certainly seemed like a convoluted build (if it wasn't based on some specific concept art, I mean). Having Black Panther in LEGO form is a high point for me (been a fan of this character since I was a kid), which led me to realize just HOW awesome and diverse this wave of Civil War sets is for LEGO. Of the three sets, there's a person of color in each. 2 of the 3 sets have women (and one of those has 2). That's pretty impressive :) -

If your WalMarts are anything like mine, there isn't anything to do but wait til they hit the shelves. Mine has had Airport Battle, and a couple of mighty micros out for a week with no sign of the others, but talking to a stocker there they are 20 to 30 toy deparment pallets behind with more coming in regularly. And the pallets are just a random bunch of boxes that are then shrinkwrapped together, and dumped in their department (Which means maybe overnight they hit the right ones, or maybe they don't). It's a great system for getting things early, when stockers don't pay attention to dates and just put whatever they open on the shelves. But it's a frustrating system when you want to buy something they have and they tell you I'm not going through every single pallet. Best of luck on your hunt :)
