I am not a big fan of this line, but I find that the Blue Windows attract me to it, the same way the Caribbean Water Does! Keep up the good review Matey!

Future The LEGO Movie Sets - Wishlist

Expensive is right, but most likely not anywhere near the behemoth price of the Sea Cow. It is absurd, but worth it. I made a review if you want to see the beast, its in the Pirates Forum ;) Wonderful

Haha! That couch would be awesome. I have a feeling that the people who pass on the Sea Cow will be disappointed that they did not get one when they see it for themselves

You are right! Thanks for pointing that out! Also it is very large. I saw it in the Lego display and it looked big. Now it looks insanely huge on my table at home!

    REVIEW: 70810 MetalBeard's Sea Cow

There is always time for questions! Thats the whole point of this review! The ship does feel a little stubby, but once you throw inn the figurehead section and the forward mast, it balances out a bit. I will have pics of it soon. It does also look a bit odd because it it so tall, but after all it is a Lego Movie creation, and realism is stretched thin. Once you have it in hand, it is a very satisfying model! In terms of the price, $299 for us Canadians and $250 USD seems very high initially. It is amongst the most expensive Lego sets ever. When you open the box, you realize why it costs so much. The amount of pieces is crazy! The box is stuffed with bags, no room of air, and the instruction book is a novel. It is definitely a very cool set, and the price equals to about 10 cents a piece, which is relatively inexpensive if you look at the Lego piece average price of about 0.40 cents per piece in the 1980's and down to about 0.17 cents nowadays for non licensed and more for licensed. So to answer your questions… Yes she is a bit stubby but very well armed, and the price may seen very high, because it is, but you do get a huge amount of pieces. I also have a feeling that this will be one of those sets fetching $1000 in a few years. (Depending on how many lego decides to release.) In the History of Lego, ships always sell.

    REVIEW: 70810 MetalBeard's Sea Cow

I was in the same boat, but I have no idea what TLG is doing with the release of this set. I was told by a Lego store manager that he only got three so far, and they each come in one massive shipping box. He also told me that he thinks it is one of those sets that lego only makes a certain amount, and once they are gone, thats it. I honestly have no idea what to think, I do know that all sets around this price range (Taj Majal, Opera House, Bridge, Endor Battle, etc.) didn't last long in stores… We will see

When I first saw the price I nearly fell over. $299 her in Canada, plus tax! But I just had to get it to continue my collection of Lego pirates (related) sets

    REVIEW: 6285 Black Sea's Barracuda

Im glad so see another one! I have many sealed older sets, and I want to open them just to open the bags with the tiny holes in them Its good to hear future generations are playing with these too! You have some other very cool sets on the table there as well! I love them all, but the BSB wins! + You are also right about the way the figs came packaged, most older sets with flaps displayed them nicely, making each one special... unlike today where they throw them all in together ;)

    REVIEW: 6285 Black Sea's Barracuda

Thanks for checking around a bit, but that just adds to the confusion So then it definitely came with more than the my 2 BSB's but what else did it come with…. I know one thing for sure, the only sets it could possibly also come with are the 1989 line because of the sets pictured on the game board. You can see the Clipper, the BSB, Eldorado Fortress, Raft Raiders, and the Harbour sentry (No way it would fit :P) so it has to be exclusive to those. Unfortunately Lego is not what they used to be, and they don't often reply to any older set inquiries, so I have heard nothing from them…. yet!

    REVIEW: 6285 Black Sea's Barracuda

I think you are right, but if people opened everything, the generations to come would not have the opportunity to open any new ones…
  23. Cool use of the comb… Now there is at least 1 thing lego friends are good for!

Boxes - do you keep them?

I try to keep every box. Initially I did not, but changed that a while ago. I think it is just as important as the instructions, especially with older lego sets. Boxes are a window into the past. They say a lot about TLG but also the world, and how advertising works. Also, I don't collapse my boxes. I like to keep them "alive" and displayed. Constant care is a must. And then down the road, if you ever want to sell the sets again, boxes are a huge selling feature.
