Well looking at that glorious shape, at least what we've see so far, its most likely only one set of wheels will actually be driven, which frees up space elsewhere in the model. Or perhaps we see an alternative version of a power hub like element but with one motor and fewer sensors. Where the motor and the juice are in one element with less cables everywhere, it seems like something that could be put to use elsewhere too. I just hope lights can be added without the butchering one had to go through to get the poor Maersk train to see where it was heading.

42115 - Lamborghini Sian FKP 37
Steph 104th replied to Ngoc Nguyen's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
What these images still don't reveal and whats bugging me is what are the designers going to do about the black wedge shape around the lights. Because if it's left open, it may be an eyesore and inaccurate, but if they fill it in with black tiles and such it won't be a very pretty display model the minute some dust settles in there. -

Perhaps because of the wheels? The blueprints seem to show different sized wheels. -

Something I thought of this morning, with all the new pieces this line introduces, would people have wanted a windscreen solution if Lego came up with one or does it stand too opposed to Technic as we've come to know it? -

I can't afford it. I'd take it apart to make something else if i could. But I'm so happy that this line exists just to force new weird, wonderful and USEFUL molds out of TLG. -

I sincerely hope that 380 isn't the price, especially considering one will still have to buy the inevitable lighting pack on top of that. And if Lego is really taking notes from these supercar manufacturers they'll be selling us overly priced trickle chargers for said lights and a Lamborghini branded napkin for a dust cover all as a bundle for a round figure of 500. -
I suppose we'll take what we can get at this stage...

LEGO Speed Champions 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Steph 104th replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Windshields are hard to come by on my local Bricklink market, so I'm waiting on that. It isn't too hard to achieve just use jumper tiles to connect the rear to the front and the build is pretty sturdy. -

Made it 7 wide in the front and 8 wide in the back to have those wide hips it deserves. But check out SP_LINEUP on Flickr, he's done an 8-wide MOC that's a great looking 8-wide Porsche. -

So I converted all my existing SC sets to 8 wide, and new windshields is most obvious hurdle. But after that, and lining them all up together I couldn't be more pleased. The new size changes the nature of the cars completely they now resemble real models or RC cars. I can understand people's frustration with them no longer conforming to the 'city-scale', and the previous waves were indeed in the caricature style of city with quirky designs that vaguely resembled the actual thing. But I think what's being offered now is almost a miniature of the fantastic creator expert line. Sets that really capture what they are and make a great display item where you don't have to explain what it's meant to be nor take out a loan and reinforce the shelf like the CE cars. The only thing holding them back from 10/10 now is those pesky stickers. Neither the price nor the scale allows for their elimination, that much I understand, it just detracts from the overall display. -
I would seem to be in the minority here, but I am not particularly bothered by the size, the piece count is similar to what we've seen before now only put toward finer details which I suspect will be come the big differentiating factor with this theme as we get more buildings over the years. I've seen some folks admiring the work done on the tree, I really love the idea of more foliage around the modulars. How does everyone feel about more trees and such down modular lane?

Another fantastic representation. I absolutely love the shaping you achieved, it runs beautifully into those fantastic lines.

I'm not the first to say it, and I won't be the last, this is absolutely phenomenal. You have captured the grandeur of the fleet perfectly while maintaining the correct scale. There is nothing to fault, it's wonderful. -

This is marvelous. It just goes to show that you don't need to use large scales to achieve a great amount of detail.

This is fantastic, I don't usually like black models but it works very well here. You captured the shape very well too. This is more impressive than my Shell promotional Polybag.- 142 replies

LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors
Steph 104th replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Two sets I was hoping to purchase have now disappointed me in the last fortnight. Sounds like the things dark ages are built on. There is nothing much wrong with the original, so logic would dictate that Lego would try create a more appealing product and when they realised the could not do so, at least make the price something that can rival the original. Now you can go out and buy the original (used) and bricklink the figures you want from the new set. You'll save a couple of bucks left over and have double the minifigs. So you can see how far we have gotten with minifig printing and how we didn't go anywhere with designing the sets those figs populate. -
It has been for me personally, I have not purchased one set from this year, I bought sets from last year this year. I was looking forward to the Winter Village train, I was disappointed. I was looking forward to the Death Star, looks like I'll be skipping that. The only set I might purchase will be a Rogue one set. That means no Licenced, Historic, Town or Train sets this year.

A beautiful build, the interior is just as stunning as that brilliant exterior.

An impressive building, that dome is amazing.
