Behold: the thread necromancer! Nah, I just had to chime in here, too. Bregir, this is just a splendid MOC. I'm not sure what to like better - the build or the story... I really like the water effects, the way the jungle blends into the build, that cute angled dock... and the city walls don't seem to be too much of an obstacle for MAR's attack forces Kudos to you and CW for those round tower thingies, very cool design, very Eslandola-esque, always love to see them The yacht... yeah, nice mix of SNOTed lower hull, and 'normal' upper part - that's just a cool way to build (full hull) ships What are you using to stabilize the masts? Flextubes... or prayers? Oh, I think some headrails would have been nice for stabilizing the beakhead... and for show, of course. Save journey to Montoya! Hope to see him in game at some point... oh, wait, for that I'd need to use a sigfig

Kolonialbeamter replied to Brandon Stark's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Nice build, Brandon. Sharp design, and the minifig posing is quite good for LDD standards. Next step - full interior - you can do it And one tip: if you rotate your build in LDD, you'll get better lighting easily. In this case, turn it 90° counter-clockwise, or 180°, and voilà - more sunlight, without having to fiddle around with the scene.sc. -
Now, that is what an official Lego ship should look like! Great work on this one - and as on the junk, boxes well used. It certainly doesn't look like a rushed build. Just... the masts could have been higher, with more sails. Maybe you were out of those intimidating red ones? Anyway, 'great' to have seen the honorable Captain in action once again... Oh, you don't happen to have some pics of Lady Arlene's behind?
-
Heck, yeah, now that's a piece of junk! Lovely cliché Asian design elements. and I just love that use of boxes for gunports. I agree that custom sails would suit the ship better, but then, you've built the ships around the availability of those Lego-sails in the first place... But maybe we can hope for more junk from you at some point?

Kolonialbeamter replied to Kolonialbeamter's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Yes, probably. I used the same slopes, turned 180° along their y-axle once. The thing is just that the more (curved) slopes you use in a hull, the more 'vertical stripes' the ship gets, and that looks odd at a larger scale. At least to me. Basically, this here - mast stays up, sail comes down: -
Finally some time to comment... LS, this is a splendid looking frigate - probably my favorite ship of yours so far The shape is sleek and the colors are awesome... Plus, your sails are getting better and better - especially as these were a rushed job. Ever thought about selling personalized sails? The only thing that's slightly bugging me is that your beak-head is two studs wide. At this scale, one stud should be more realistic. But that's maybe just personal preference. Keep 'em ships coming

Kolonialbeamter replied to Legostone's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Darn, all that money invested into funding Marderian raiding fleets on Trador should have been going into this business instead. Bad decision, RNTC, bad decision Lovely idea, LS Loving that popping popcorn in the pan -

Hey Maxim, really, no harm done, don't worry You are indeed one of the few from both our factions to actively bolster good relations, which I appreciate very much This 'no answer' policy is just a very basic principle thing - could have been directed at anyone and regarding any issue. -

Two points: 1.) I fail to see how Oleon as a sovereign nation has to justify actions taken or not taken and answer to Eslandola. I also fail to see how the RNTC as a sovereign legal entity has to justify actions taken or not taken and answer to MAESTRO. 2.) Your demands here are based on the axiom 'If you are not with us, you are against us'. This sort of evil black-and-white, paranoid and threatening behavior will never be given into by issuing an answer. No matter the diplomatic, economic, or military costs. That's a principle. -

Wooo, I'm quite enjoying this wild goose chase, here. My preferred contribution so far is the 'prove your innocence!' request... Your 'democracy' reveals its police state self Do I sense some green paranoid panic in the face of yellow raiding fleets? Now, continue the speculations! -

Huh, wut? What makes you say that? Edit: Hah, yes, it looks indeed like so I know OL paid for their shares to the RNTC. The rest is inner Oleander business. But thanks for the idea, Maxim. Hmm... I guess this could be a worthy money-sink - some are looking for something like this -
A friendly note for those of you who own forts.
Kolonialbeamter replied to SkaForHire's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Seems new to me to have to list those forts not in the settlement, but within protection radius. Protection radius is a simplification. You could explain it along the lines of: larger fort with larger garrison -> more patrols in the area. And maybe that bar in the town far away just offers the better ale Okay, it gets a bit weird if that town is on a different island. But well, simplification. -

Well, this is new, then. And should also be added to the official requirements for listed property in settlement threads. -

Brethren of the Brick Seas (BoBS) Introduction and Starting Thread
Kolonialbeamter replied to SkaForHire's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
In case you haven't already noticed, the islands of the Prio Sea now each come with their individual, blank map. The original versions (click for link to flickr) are all at the same resolution, hence the same scale, which should make comparison easier. So feel free to print them, and glue them to your walls- 2287 replies

@MKJoshA Yes, it can. Every ship (so even a class-0 with a speed of 0) can at least visit two ports - even if it is bound to one zone. Yes. -

Kolonialbeamter replied to Sebeus I's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Haha, the infamous Captain made the introduction himself @Brandon Stark This latest chapter in the book Tales of the Brick Seas goes back to the MCRA in early December 616AE, when Captain Benjamin Morgan took an Oleander convoy by complete surprise and managed to overwhelm three Oleander warships. Just because his crew couldn't be bothered with manning all three of them, he sailed off with only the HRS Infatigable and the HRS Ville d'Astrapi. One of the boldest coups in BoBS history so far! -
