  1. Cool idea! I've thought about making a similar vehicle, but never did. Great job!
  2. Nice job. I like the angles of the cab and I'm surprised that you were able to fit a battery box underneath the dashboard and hood. Can't wait for more progress!
  3. Unbelievable! How long did it take to create such a masterpiece?
  4. This is a great solution! I could have used this so many times in my previous creations and I can't believe how simple and efficient it is. Also I would post it on the Axle Thread here: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=92099
  5. Maybe something like this, but without portal axles and place a differential in the chassis. I know that you wouldn't get the same performance with a different differential setup, but it's all I've got at the moment.
  6. Eggcellent!! I wouldn't mind my breakfast being prepared by Legos. Great job!
  7. Well done! The instructions are coming along great.
  8. That's a great solution! Although doesn't this mean you'll need multiple servos, which aren't cheap.
  9. This looks very promising. I don't know what kind of suspension 4Runners have, but the setup you have has great flex. It should be a good offroader with flex like that. Can't wait to see more.
  10. Yeah, your Unimog project here is inspiring me to make a similar Unimog in the near future. I also love the Unimog family as my name would suggest. The utility truck that I was talking about is going to be a large Scania Flatbed, but I'm not getting into that MOC until later this year.
  11. I agree, but do you think models get more praise/hype from WIPs or just finished models.
  12. Can you suggest your own MOC or will it be similar to The Lego Car Blog submission standards where someone else has to suggest a MOC of yours?
  13. I haven't read this entire topic, so I don't know if anyone has said this already, but the steering wheel seems extremely small. Do you think you could have made a custom, bigger, and better one. Also with all the steering geometry and angles do you feel a significant difference in the handling.
  14. Looks great! It seems you had a similar idea as me because I am planning to make a large utility truck in the relatively new green color. It will be interesting to see a complete forestry unimog model. Good luck! Also, how are you going to RC it? Will the battery box be on top of the chassis frame and drive and steer motors underneath?
  15. Thanks everyone! Well about the design I tried to make it simple and low profile, so not much detail.
  16. I definitely think the engine compartment is a bit hollow, but that was probably so you could see the engine while moving it, to see the pistons. To me though since I was not able to get 8275 it doesn't look to bad, although we don't know how all the functions work I think I'll get it when it comes out, mostly for the parts and a little guide to how to build a basic builder because I've never made one before.
  17. Those should definitely be in the Hall of Fame!!!!
  18. Yeah, I've noticed that with motorized pumps. Unfortunately I don't have a manual pump and I've been wondering if they could be bought from Lego Service even if they haven't been in an official set for a while.
  19. Yeah, I found his tutorials quite helpful. I'm wondering if you really need such a complex setup in such a relatively small car, like for example with Sheepo's Mustang he made complex wheel hubs himself to achieve these complex angles and geometries, but his model was huge! For yours I don't know if you need all those angles and stuff, it might just be better off making it a bit more simple, but robust!
  20. You'll fit right in with great models like that! Nicely done.
  21. I have to agree with you! I think you explained it very well, pneumatics just seem to make any model a bit more special. After seeing those 2 backhoes I realized maybe if I had gotten 8455 then I would have liked pneumatics from the beginning, but instead I had gotten the 8069 backhoe which I thought was a good build with good pieces. It just didn't seem to be as much fun to use as say the pneumatics in the Unimog set, which were my first pneumatics.
  22. You are absolutely correct. If I want to make a similar kind of topic again should I ask you or Jim about whether this topic has been discussed before? Thanks.
  23. Oh, sorry I was unaware. I've only had a Eurobricks for about 2 months.
  24. Yeah, they are certainly easier to attach and integrate into a MOC.
  25. Hi everyone, today I was wondering why people choose pneumatics over LA's or vice versa. So I decided to make this thread concerning which kind of mechanism you use (pneumatic/LA) and why you think it is best. I saw a lot of talk about the new flagship set 42030, and how many people wanted pneumatics in it, because of this I decided to find out all the pros and cons in your opinion of these 2 types of mechanisms. Pneumatics: Linear Actuator: Personally I use LA's because I think you have the best control when there motorized or even just used manually. Although I do like the look of the pneumatic pieces and there functionality, I just don't use them as often. So tell me what you think about these popular pieces. Thanks.
