I think LEGO could've designed it better and I'm getting tired of LEGO using the same figures over and over. I'm sure they could've designed a better helmet for the general! I'm not sure what you mean by "Estimated quantity of bricks" but you can purchase individual bricks on this great website: http://www.bricklink.com This is a great LEGO website with lots of different private stores selling minifigs, sets, and pieces for their own prices. I hope this is what you are looking for
