The HP sets have been available at Target TTP (Adelaide) for the last couple of days now. They were put on the shelves on Wednesday, while I believe the sale was still on. Unfortunately I didn't get any

Thanks heaps WhiteFang, Siegfried and others who put this together, pats on the back to all of you! Now if you'll excuse me, I have to prepare a coffin for Mr. Bloodsucker's arrival.

    MOC: Submarine

Personally, I quite like the dirty and worn bricks in this MOC, it gives the submarine a certain authenticity and impression that it has been put to good use, and has been bruised and battered by the elements and creatures down below. That said, I'd probably wash my hands after handling the submarine I like those protruding thingamys at the front. Perhaps you could consider adding robotic arms with claws (or somesuch) to them, so the pilot doesn't have to go outside and get wet to pick up stuff from the ocean floor. But with that fancy airlock keeping the cockpit dry, this might not be so much an issue. Good job!

Wow, thanks for the tip! Picked up my titanium rig and a couple other sets this morning, best purchase in a long time. And what a friendly bunch they are, two thumbs up! Hope I don't become a BrickLink addict now...

They've been spotted in Indooroopilly (Brisbane) as well, so you might get lucky. I just hope they make it to Adelaide quick-snap. I need my minifigure fix asap I'm so desperate I've even started looking for minifigs in the toy section at Woolworths!!

Thank you, Whittleberry, for the great news!! I'm almost forgetting my disappointment with the TRU LEGO sale.

Old news for some, perhaps, but Imagine If at Marion (Adelaide) has 25 % off store wide until the end of this month (due to store relocation). For instance, this means you can get the Slave I for a more reasonable less unreasonable $112.5, if that tickles your fancy

Hehe, that makes two of us. At least we know he's supposed to be in a review, which narrows down the search somewhat

    Lucky LEGO finds

I don't think so. The price on the shelf was the normal $80 (I believe), but it scanned at $30. My eyes nearly popped out of my head and I quickly picked the two they had left. Never saw them for $30 at any other Target, so perhaps it was a local stuff-up? Although I thought these things were controlled centrally these days. But the lesson I learned, of course, and which I see people recommend anyway, is to always scan boxes just in case. I must look like a nut hanging around the LEGO isles walking back and forth between the shelves and the scanners

    Lucky LEGO finds

My best find so far was at Target Springwood (Brisbane, Australia) in April this year, where I picked up two Crawler Cranes for 30 AUD each. They're 100 AUD rrp. Ah, sweet memories

The friendly answering machine at LEGO told me it could take up to 8 weeks from they receive the application form until you receive confirmation by email that it has been processed. That was pretty much spot on in my case, LEGO received my application form on 17 June and I received a confirmation email on 16 August. I haven't received any mailouts from LEGO, though.

Thanks for your input. Sounds like I'm too late anyway :-) Next time I see deals like that I'll make sure to strike immediately. I just wanted another one for parts.

Anyone with Kmart clearance sales experience, do you know how often they drop the prices of items on clearance? I saw the creator fire truck drop from $76 to $50 to $35, but I wonder if it will go even lower?

Has anyone spotted Ramses Pyramid in Adelaide? If so, where? I’m a big fan of Reiner Knizia games, so Ramses Pyramid is on top of my LEGO-games-to-buy list. Of course, that doesn't really stop me from getting the other ones before Ramses Pyramid :-)

I spotted the yellow 3221 LEGO Truck at Big W (Golden Grove, Adelaide) for ~$44. That's one set where I would actually apply the stickers :-)

Chomp-chomp! They have a few boxes of minifigs series 1 at TRU TTP (Adelaide) at $3 per minifig, or a very agreable $2.40 after the 20% discount :-D Off you go!
  17. With LEGO set instructions coming in many different sizes, I find it somewhat suboptimal to just stack them on top of each other in a box, so I am hoping that some of you have found great ways to store and organize your instructions, and would like to share. How do you store your instructions?

Minifg collectors series 2 pics and barcodes

Thank you muchly, Ras74 and Superkalle! Personally I want multiples of the karate dude (for the trophy) and the mime (I just find mimes to be awsome in general and in particular had the great pleasure of experiencing Marcel Marceau in Adelaide a few years back). Oh, and I think the witch is great! Wish they made her face in regular yellow! Double oh, I think the Mexican, Spartan, lion tamer and disco dude are pretty awsome too! Triple oh, who am I kidding, they're all great, hopefully I'll get them all (and multiples of some)!

How do you store your instructions?

That's awsome, it looks so neat! Question: how do you store your 3-ring binders? Upright or lying flat? If you're storing them upright, I'm wondering if the weight of the instructions pull the sleaves down and make the holes in the sleaves go "floppy"? Your instructions look rather pristine, though, great job!

Bare indeed, although they had a couple of Fire Brigades and heaps of the Western Train Chase left when I was there. After I left there was one Fire Brigade left and two less of the Western Train Chase :-) I tried to get another 10% off with my Myer One card, but that was a no-go.

This may be old news by now, but Myer at TTP, Adelaide, has a 3 for 2 special on today, which together with the 20% off LEGO makes for a potentially great save!

Isn't all LEGO at Target 20% off during the toy sale? Ah, at *imagine if*... got a bit ahead of myself there.

Good on you for getting involved! And agreed, the LEGO part of Target's toy sale was a sobering experience. Big W was really the place to be IMO. I'm sure you'll enjoy your castle, though :-)

    Hola!

Hola! I'm KartoffelViking, a Norwegian expatriate now living in Adelaide with my wife, who loves to torment me by changing inconspicuous details of my built sets :-) After many years of absence from LEGO, I bought a Telescopic Handler in Brisbane last year, which rekindled my passion. When building sets, I always open all the bags and mix the bricks together to maximize the build time :-) A LEGO highlight for me so far was building the Imperial Flagship, a fantastic set which took me quite a few hours to build. Last December I bought two Space Police sets for the Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal, as I think that every kid should experience the joy of creating with LEGO. I aim to make that a Yule-tide tradition of mine, and would encourage anyone else to do something similar if they have the opportunity. Cheers!
