Oh come on! I'm a fan of the original unedited versions. too, but this is not a movie discussion forum or thread, it's about lego star wars sets that are missing, so anything that has appeared somewhere star wars-related is game. So think twice about who is driving whom crazy.

LEGO Star Wars 2014 Pictures and Rumors
DarthTwoShedsJackson replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I'd bet they won't look like the regular Saga figs. As is with all licence factors, the party giving the license usually demands to have such be easy to distinguish from each other, easily recognizable, and another factor is they usually also want to make figures for two such lines not to be easily interchangeable. As for the Vader helmet: They could make Santa Vader dark red, that way keeping those collectors who are crazy enough to pay a furtune for some toy prototype from suffering a heart attack. Not that I care (I mean the collectors value, not the heart attack stuff, mind you). In my eyes it's a bit silly to cry if you bought a TOY years ago that suddenly gets very valuable because it becomes popular or cult or fetish after it's discontinued, and then looses value because a new rendition of it is made years later. Sheesh, it's a well designed toy, not an original piece of art. So yes, please, give us a bright red Vader helmet! -
Review Review: 10240 Red Five X-Wing Starfighter
DarthTwoShedsJackson replied to Rufus's topic in LEGO Star Wars
The only way they could do this is if the front fuselage would have the hexagonal shape, too. It's still a gorgeous set, though, accuracy aside, and I'd say Lego did a great job with building an X-Wing and still retaining the lego-feel. It's waaay better than the system scale versions they've released, that's for sure.- 118 replies

Review Review: 10240 Red Five X-Wing Starfighter
DarthTwoShedsJackson replied to Rufus's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Epic review. I wonder why (if) anyone has complained about the small-ish engine intakes, yet? It's a very beautiful set, but personally I prefer Psiaki's minifig-scale version for its way more exact shapes and proportions, although it contains a few 'illegal' building techniques. Anyway, I rather enjoyed the build-in-progress pictures in your review - gives a very detailed impression of the set without having to build it yourself.- 118 replies

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
DarthTwoShedsJackson replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Trying to get the right dimensions of Star Wars vehicles from whatever source, especially anything ending with ...pedia, is like discussing the exact distance between earth and moon: A futile task, resulting in an average at best. I'd advice you to not take measurements of fictional vehicles all too seriously, and decide on an approximate size that comes as close as possible, but more importantly suits your building needs/techniques. -
Would it hurt you if the Star Wars franchise would stop right now?
DarthTwoShedsJackson replied to HJR-Holland's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Well, it's obviously not the end of the world, because - what is, other than the actual end of the world? That being said, I'd be a bit sad. There's a reason why certain models are being re-made after older versions have been discontinued. That's because if they wouldn't remake them, new addicts to the lego star wars hobby wouldn't have a chance to get them. And I'm fine with that and wouldn't immediately call it recycling. I'm middle-age-ish and grew up with the original Trilogy, and I've already build star wars vehicles with my space legos back then. What got me back into lego last year was when I saw some lego star wars sets in a toy store and was wondering: WOW! I wished they had these back when I was a kid. And what I love are the minifigs. Overall, they are really cool. I can't stand the prequel Trilogy for reasons related to their utter failure regarding basics of movie-making alone, and I'm really sad for the talent wasted in those. The clone wars animated series has grown on me, though, and yes, I like those minifigs, too. I'm not one of those Original Trilogy fans that dismiss the new stuff outright. What'd really shock me if Lego would stop the licence, apart from it being a suicidal move, are the missed opportunities for cool future sets and minifigs, especially with the sequel trilogy on the horizon. That'd be crazy. -
Yep, I meant BY Lego, so as an official set. So: no.
-
Count me in for that! An official Bly and some 327th Star Corps Troopers would be really cool - and a potential money pit for me... Has there ever a Nebulan B Frigate from the Rebellion era been made by Lego in any way, shape or form?

introduction plus moc plus question
DarthTwoShedsJackson replied to DonBrizzel's topic in LEGO Star Wars
First of all: Welcome (I'm quite new here, too), and I really like your micro MOCs! I'd love to see them built with real bricks. Speaking of which: If you have the part numbers, just enter those in google - there's a lot of shops besides Bricklink (which always is a good first resort) who sell parts which are rare or out of production. That's how I found some parts (the cockpit canopy in a specific transparent colour for example) for my re-build of Psiaki's X-Wing, which I didn't find with Bricklink sellers here in Germany or Europe - I didn't want to get them from overseas for reasons already stated in this thread. So I found some online shops here in Germany who had them. -
What's your recent LEGO Star Wars Purchase?
DarthTwoShedsJackson replied to KimT's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I'll create the 327th star corps with Lego Phase 2 Clone Troopers, using the yellow ones from the Umbaran MHC set. I've made my own Commander Bly custom by adding the combat skirt and the brown shoulder pauldron, plus a macrobinocular attached to the helmet. An important figure that was missing until I got it in my mail today was the general - Aayla Secura. I got her mint for 18 Euros. Here they are: Never turn your back to Bly, Aayla! -
[MOC] Jedi Starfighter - 75003 alternate model
DarthTwoShedsJackson replied to BEAVeR's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I'd enter the Slave 1, if I were you, because it looks so much more different to the A-Wing than does the JSF, and thus highlights the idea of an alternative build only using the parts of said set better than does the JSF.- 14 replies

[MOC] Jedi Starfighter - 75003 alternate model

Amazing result, considering that your build only uses the parts of the latest A-Wing model. So, what's next?- 14 replies

Ahsoka's Starfighter MOC
DarthTwoShedsJackson replied to DarthTwoShedsJackson's topic in LEGO Star Wars
You're welcome, BEAVeR. I'm glad to hear my MOC inspired you. And no, I wouldn't consider it stealing. As a matter of fact, I'd be happy to post some images of this thing deconstructed if someone feels like re-building it on their own.- 22 replies

Ahsoka's Starfighter MOC
DarthTwoShedsJackson replied to DarthTwoShedsJackson's topic in LEGO Star Wars
First of all, thanks for the encouraging comments! I've now finished this MOC and I'm very happy with it. It's quite sturdy and comfortably swooshable. I've cleaned up the area around the cockpit a bit more and re-built the whole rear, complete with a fin that fits seamlessly and also cuts a bit into the cockpit. I also improved the build of the engines and the landing gear. But judge for yourselves, here's some images:- 22 replies
