    The Black Meg by DARKspawn

G'day guys! I am really honoured by the reaction to my creation. This is the first pirate ship that I have built & I found it quite challenging. I don't own a lot of prefab hull pieces and actually try very hard to avoid using prefabs where ever possible (with the exception of structural support). The sails were cut from sheets of A4 paper but worked suprisingly well. I am usually a purist but I wanted a realistic look for my sails and the spacing of the masts were different from the classic LEGO pirate sets. This build was a major learning experience, not only just in building a priate ship but historically speaking as well. I am already planning bigger & better ships for future builds.

    ForbiddenCove

Permission to come aboard? G'day guys :) I am an admin for the ForbiddenCove.com and I just had to drop by & post something in some attempt to diffuse the situation. Let me try to address some of your questions as best as I can. Firstly you should know that like a true pirate I am breaking ranks here and posting without the knoweledge of the FC Staff as a whole. Why a new Pirate site? I guess that's the big question here right? Well to be honest we didn't feel that Classic Pirates was all it could be, mostly because of it's dependance on the EB community. Obviously the admin staff have many different priorities on this mamoth site and can't focus on the attention that we beleive the Pirate theme deserves. I guess the Classic Pirates site can't have a full team of Admins and Mods as a dedicated site would as it would eclipse the importance of the other themes represented on your fine site. This results in a lack of energy behind the site's evolution and development. It's even worse because the Pirate theme is amongst the least "popular" on the online community. Why is Classic-Pirates.com a forbidden word on the Cove site? Yeah, I can't say I am overly proud of this myself, but the Admin Staff thought it necessary as a whole. The reason isn't that we are making some kind of attack on EB, because that would be a very disaffective attack indeed, it's actually the reverse. The admin team are concerned that members of the EB community might have posted comments on FC like, "forget about this site, visit the community at EB!" and the such. Personally I am uncomfortable with the decision and I hope it changes in the future, but it's going to take goodwill on both sides of the strait to break down each other's fears. Does the Cove beleive it can ursurp the pirate community and leave Classic-Pirates as a burnt out wreck? lol, no, not at all. EB has the advantage here. No matter what happens EB will always have a dedicated Pirate forum & page. How do I know this? Voodoo? No. It's because EB is so much more than Classic-Pirates, your site serves as a gateway to all themes. That is EB's greatest strength and attraction. For the Cove it is sink or swim. And it certainly wouldn't be the first Pirate themed forum to fall by the wayside. But we really want to make this work, and the admin team are willing to put in the effort to make this site happen, we just need an audience :) When 2 previous LAs and 2 current cycle LAs join forces as an admin team do they recieve cosmic powers like superhuman precognition beyond that of mortal site admins? No. I hope we can strike up a similar relationship to what CC has with the EB Castle Community - many of whom are prominant contributors on both sites. Does anyone consider those two online communities to be in contest with each other? Of course not, & I wish for the same here. As far as I am concerned there is no contest, I am really hoping for a peacefull co-existance on the high seas of ABS. Cheers Aaron

    Château sur la Rivière

Thanks heaps, Quarryman, for spotlighting my creation here, and thanks to everyone for the kind words. Recent commitments have spread my free time pretty thin, & not being the most active member here on EB in the first place, something had to slip. I often lurk here but don't post as much as I would like. Thanks again for the comments :-)

    Sune-Ku Mecha range

Hi guys! Been a while since I dropped by, the whole BS fiasco forced me underground & into hiding in my LEGO room until this all blew over ;-) While in said LEGO room I came up with a couple of Mecha (amongst other things) based off an idea of mine to create a human-like spine for a mecha frame. Sune-Ku-02 Sune-Ku-03 Pics are BS links Comments & Critisism always appreciated :-)

    Battle for the Golden City

Loving the dropship! Well done. I like the genuine playset feel you have going here. :-)

    MOC of Iron Condor?

I only have a couple of exoforce sets, but all my sets are destined to first be sorted & then become something greater than the some of their original parts ;-) I know lots of people love collecting sets, but personally I love collecting elements & making my own stuff. I am never unhappy to recieve multiples of a single set, because it's not the actual set I am interested in, it's the elements, & you can never have too many of those :-D

or is it the other way round? ;-)

    Martian Mech

From Bricklink, I got them a while ago for a castle project, I'm not sure what sets they appear in though

    Martian Mech

Thanks for the comments guys :-D In regards to the colour, all martian vehicles are really green to start with. Martininium Ore is actually green in its processed state. They are then usually painted sand blue & blue. However the old skool Martians didn't have time to paint their hardware.... Before they could, those strange, transclear, unposable NEW martians showed up & started to give them grief. The fact is, the Old Skool Martians & the Space guys used to get along quite fine. But these transclear martian morons are ruining their cred! To arms, fellow Martians! To arms!

    Martian Mech

Whatever happened to the old Martians? They have been spending time in the Pyramid of Mars upgrading their Mecha & changing their colour scheme. Armed with new experimental trans lime weaponry, these little guys are ready to reek havok on their trans clear cousins... Credit to Moko for the T-Bar Joint design (Pic is BS link) :-)

    Medieval Observatory

Thanks for the kind comments guys :-D It took me about 3 weeks of 1-2 hour sessions a day unfortunetly there is no interrior, it's hard to do with octagon towers, although I have done it before

    Medieval Observatory

Hi guys :-) This is my latest MOC, a medieval observatory. Pic is BS Link It was developed from an entry I made for the Harry Potter contest held on Millionare Playboy. Observatories didn't start appearing in Europe until the late 1600s, so I am using a bit of artistic licence here ;-)

    Mjollnir

Hi guys :-) This is a revision of the first Mech I made, the Madcat. It uses many of the same build techniques & the same colour scheme. However I'd like to think that my design skills have matured somewhat since my first attempt. Pic is BS link The Mjollnir is a medium weight mech designed with upgradable weapon hard points to allow for a variety of combat situations. The Mjollnir has three main configurations for a miriad of battlefield environments. Comments appreciated ;-)
