  1. Varen shakes his head as he listens to the recording. "What an absolute and complete mess they made this." He then looks to the list. "So some of these names are underlined. Are they alive? Does this ship have accurate biosigs still?"
  2. Mostly tiled gun deck of a frigate I'm working on. This is my first physical ship I've built since 2017 (and that one was terrible), and the first since 2010 I'll do with custom rigging. She's to be a modified Pirates of Barracuda Bay ship. Looking to be 14 guns on this deck, maybe 16 depending on if I move stuff forward. The middle 2x2 would be for the castan. Thoughts/suggestions?
  3. "Shoot our way out?" Varen asks. "I agree with Zaria. Get everyone off and then contain this damn ship. Maybe we should just jettison it into a star to be rid of it."
  4. Some of you may remember this MOC. Well I now present the inside of the caboose, the interior from Season 7-14. Here is an overview of the left side of stage. You can see various steps and such. You also can see the extending drawer/table on the left. The entrance from the park to the inside, with Riff looking over. You can climb the ladder to the top of the caboose from here. If you want to go inside, head left down the curved staircase or go right. We go to the right and here is a window to the park as well as some shelves. And here is the star, Barney! He's at one of the stairways to the floor. Behind him is a chalkboard . A little seating area and rug (ignore the missing pieces, I think my render messed up maybe?). And back to the other side of the caboose entrance. Here is the curved steps along with the other window to the park and a dresser. More of the center area, with a table kids can do crafts at. Behind is a bench with props as well as the blackboard. To the right is the other entrance from the back to the main area. And the area of the caboose with a wardrobe, rug, aquariam and trunk. You can see Baby Bop checking it out. Here's BJ in front of the curtains of the small stage. The other entrance/exit. Included are some photos and the thermostat. Then the front and overhead view. And here is a reference video for some comparison. Enjoy! Comments and criticism always welcome!

[MOC] Barney & Friends - Caboose

That's actually the first one I did. Haha thanks!
  6. "Thanks, Kirwin." "Do you have any clue if Simon is alive?"
  7. "Cheers I'll drink to that." Varen replies as he give him the flask. "Take as much as you want. I hear booze helps with pain. And it's free back at the Hall, so enjoy. Other than that, how are you feeling buddy? Not gonna go all crazy right? Not that I think you would, you're a level-headed guy I bet." Varen attempts a persuasion. "Being captain is a lot of responsibility, nobody would blame you if something slipped your mind earlier."

Make sure you use the 4.3.11 version instead of 4.3.12. The former has actually more parts for some reason. I personally use LDD for design and then render/decals in stud.io.
  9. I know r/legodnd on reddit is a thing as well.
  10. "Well, we made it." Varen slings his rifle and heads down to Captain Ilbery. He attempts to shake him awwake. "Hey, hey buddy, wakey wakey. I got some whiskey here for ya." Varen pauses, thinks and then takes a swig himself. He looks to the others. "Anyone want some after that fight?"
  11. It's cute! It reminds me somewhat of the Medieval Market Village building.
  12. "I'm up!" Varen shouts. "Don't worry about me I'm good! Thanks whoever zapped me up." He moves to G3.
  13. OOC: For some reason I'm picturing Varen either convulsing or just laying their with his tongue out comically. If revived, Varen uses his Plasma Potion.
  14. So, just a discussion on the LEGO Masters (US) show, in case anyone is watching. As a full disclaimer, I did work on the show in the challenge department, so I will be slightly biased, but I also want to provide an insight into this show as best I can, and if anyone has any questions, I will answer to the best of my ability. For each episode, I'll state/show what I was able to do/build, and my own thoughts. First, I was really lucky to be brought on to the show in any capacity. I was working on another show that the production company for LM was doing, and the executives saw the LEGO tattoo on my arm and mentioned the show. I basically handed them my resume right then and there. I was brought into the challenge department (where one of our Challenge Producers is also an AFOL), and for around three weeks before we got on set, I was tasked with organizing the layout of every single element we would have on set. Yup. Over three million bricks total for the show, into the thousands of individual element types. This job is a dream come true for me; I got to design my dream LEGO storage room. So for three weeks, I worked with our Art department and my computer to figure out how exactly every brick would go on set, organizing down to what color and type would go into each drawer. Came up with why things were the way they were, etc. No small feat, I think. In addition to this, the first episode was our Dream Park Theme Park, and I learned what the challenge was about: A theme park, yes, but one with a monorail. My head exploded. I wasn't old enough for the monorail sets, so I'd get to see one in action here. But then I learned I was tasked with desiging the layout of the monorail and make sure it works. And we didn't have any monorail parts in stock yet. Luckily I found a website (I can't find it ATM but will update when I can) that had all of the monorail pieces, essentially a top-down version of LDD, and designed a rough draft of the layout. In my opinion, it was really cool, but it was way too complex. One of our Associate Producers (essentially my boss) took a stab at it and made his own design. We then married the two concepts together to what you see on screen. As for discussion of the episode, I'm really happy with what I saw. Jamie and Amy are both incredibly nice (more on talking to them will come), and I'm excited I got to talk with them at different points throught the show. I remember when we were doing this first episode, we were pillaging parts from some sets (namely the Jamie Coaster) just to grab a few extras, and he walked past and joked how sad he was to see this happen. I complimented him saying it was an awesome set. Seeing the builds in person was like nothing else. Like being at a LEGO convention but it's a job that everyone can see.
  15. Duke Perrault sat in the bouncy carriage, quite content with the ride. His nephew, Emile, was not too keen on the ride. Not as smooth as the sea. Well aside from storms. "A rough bouncy start to our journey," The Duke of Vitoria said, "just means the rest of this endeavor should go smoothly." "Of course," Emile replied, not particularly believing his uncle. "Have some faith, nephew." Robert sat up in his seat proudly. "We have a job to do with important people, both of Oleon and the Corries. Also, let's try not to say 'Corries' in front of them. May come off impolite." "How did I get stuck back here?" a guard whispered to himself.
  16. Welcome! Love the intro and I'm excited to see your builds!
  17. "Ah!" Varen screams as he's bitten. He retreats to G1 and shoots creature A.
  18. OOC: am I able to attack from that far out? I thought I could only hit within three squares unless it was artillery
  19. "Hey I've done a lot of sneaking and investigating and intimidating in my life, with the occaisonal beat someone up. Let me have my brawls!" Varen laughs
  20. Varen switches the safety off his rifle and moves to E1. "The more of these guys we can take down now, the easier it will be going forward."
  21. Varen browses, his eyes settling on the briefcase. "Probably good to have one of those. May I please get one?"
  22. Varen keeps his rifle close, ready to shoot if needed. "I'm gona guess zombies," he whispers.

I love both. Although i find myself more distracted by digital building because I can browse the internet or something. Digital is great for planning for me, but physical building is the best. Ok I understand I'm hypocritical saying physical is the best when I love both, but there are pros and cons to each.
  24. "I'm of the mind we should bring it with us," Varen adds. "But I'm not going to cry over spilled milk if we destroy. Let's at least document it first." OOC: Sorry for the abscence, was my anniversary this weekend
  25. "I'm good here. Listening to those messages are making me increasingly worried about what we will find."
