  1. Thank you for your feedback. I checked instructions and I can't see any error there. You are adding two black 1x5 liftarms in step 5 and both are connected to 5x11 tapered panel added in previous step. The third black 1x5 liftarm was added in step 2 and I can't see any other 1x5 liftarm in assembly.
  2. I've made video of skidder in action and building instructions will be available in few day too.
  3. Let me introduce myself and tell you something about this new topic. Some of you may know me in connection with modification of alternative model from set 8052. I modified it into truck with work platform last summer and provided you building instruction via brickshelf. It is not my only creation so I decided to share my other creations with you too. One more note before introducing my models – I am focused on building models from one set so they could be named as “unofficial alternative models”. It’s enough about me and let’s look at what I have for you now! This is truck with work platform I spoke about above. My latest creation is “telehandler” also from set 8052. Honestly it doesn’t have telescopic boom but at least it looks like it has... :) It features following functions: lifting boom via linear actuator and medium motor with gear ratio 1:3 (it is as slow as lifting container in main model) rear axle steering with eccentric control via beacon on roof of cabin – this was little puzzle because lack of bevel gears front stabilizers which are able to lift front wheels little bit above land adjustable rear mirror (I like especially that one on side of battery box)
  4. There are building instructions for my two pretty old alternative models available at buildinst.cz now. The first of them is truck with work platform built out of set 8052. It is one of my very first Technic models and I've used cab from official B-model in it. The second model is hot rod Mk II built out of set 8041. It is upgraded version of original hot rod that I've built out of this set. You can also build it out of set 42041. And the last is off-road formula built out of set 42037.
  5. Building instructions for shark are available at rebrickable.com now!
  6. I am taking it to exhibition this weekend and then I will begin with making instructions.
  7. I would recommend Stud.io too. You can import LXF file there and switch to instruction maker. When I make my instructions I choose few bricks that can be removed and click on button "step after". They are moved to next step and disappear in model. You can continue untill you have last brick. Then just save it and move to next step till you finish your build.
  8. Díky za pochvalu. Thank you for your comment. Thank you for your comment. I gree with you that small fish is not as good as shark but it was the best what I could do with remaining parts... My first idea was to build diver instead of fish but he would look even worse.
  9. Thank you for your comment. I am happy that I have such a big fan. Honestly I was not interested in this set eather untill I've got idea to rebuid it into shark. Original jet contains some very complex and interesting linkages but it lacks normal wings...
  10. Thank you all for your comments. I plan to make them and I expect they will available in two months. It is something more complex and funnier. I will not give you any spoilers now and show you it in video later.
  11. I've built just few motorized MOCs and I can see their advantages in higher playability and mostly faster operation of functions. These adavantages are bought out by demand of space for battery box and motors and you also have to deal with batteries (recharging them and so on). So I prefer manual functions even they are slower and not so fancy. I wish to have motorized functions only sometimes at exhibitions where I demonstrate functions of my models to visitors. Besides this I don't "play" much with finished models - I enjoy building them more. Also portfolio of sets with PF is very limited so I don't have much "resources" for building motorized alternative models.
  12. WOW! This is really cool alternative model. I own this set and plan to build alternative model out of it too but I would never think about house. Good job!
  13. Thank you, it is nice to hear it. I stopped posting my Creator alternatives here because it looked like nobody cares about them... Now I've found out that most of people here don't care about Creator 3 in 1 at all.
  14. Building instructions for helicopter are available at rebrickable.com now.
  15. Let me introduce you what I was working on last week - it is going to be helicopter loosely inspired by Bell 47. I call it Nighthawk because it is also my tribute to set 8412 that I got when I was child. I will feature: crank for spinning both rotors fake six-cylinder flat engine with moving pistons lever in cockpit for tilting main rotor (this is not realistic function but it is reproduction of functionality of set 8412) Since I build almost exclusively alternative models this helicopter is no exception. I only use parts from rally car 42077. And now some pictures of my progress: Initial proof of concept to ensure that I have enough gears Prototype of cab with seat and lever The first assembly of whole helicopter (before I took it apart for structural upgrades)
  16. I have to say that Creator 3 in 1 is my favorite theme together with Technic. It was also theme that brought me back from my dark age, particularly set 4884. I appreciate its focus on building and rebuilding. I am not person who likes to put models on shelf or play with them. I prefer building and finding new things that could be built out of bricks from one set like I did for example with 31056: But I have to admit that resent sets are getting worse. I think it is caused by adding minifigures (they don't add any interesting building experience and steal money from budged that could be used for some bricks and plates) and by making models compactible with minifigures (they limit scale).
  17. Cool alternative model for Corvette! Didn't you think about lowering its cab little bit? It looks too high to me.
  18. Thank you for comment. By the way I was asking myself many times what kind of strange loader is this B model from set 8416...
  19. Thank you all for your comments! I put actuators as close to each other as possible so this part of model is 11 studs wide - 2 studs more than it should be according to chosen scale. There were between 200 and 300 left over parts when I finished building and at least 1/3 of them were pins. I plan to make building instructions just it will take me some time. I think stickers shouldn't affect overall look much and you can face most of them inside the model... You are right that models of skidders are pretty rare. I can remember just two official models (B models of set 42029 and 8439) and C-model from 42054 built by BrickbyBrickTechnic.
  20. Interesting machine and model. I like how you extended reach of linear actuators.
  21. Hi all, when I saw new The LEGO Movie 2 sets I fell in love with Ultrakatty set 70827 and began thinking about what else I can build out of this set. The first idea was to build Ultrapuppy but I was not able to give it cool enough appearance and personality. Then I got another idea that excited me much: What about giving Emmet and Lucy real alien that would fight with those Duplo monsters? ...and it should be the coolest alien of all - alien queen! "Who is cooler alien now?" I tried to build her as close to original as possible with limited sort of parts in set so I added such details as second jaw, big collar behind head and many thorns on back and tail. I also had to forfeit some details like the second pair of hands on chest and use pretty "wild" color scheme. Finished model features good articulation and big feet gives it some stability. I hope you like it. Any comments are welcome.

Building instructions for alien queen are already available at buildinst.cz
  23. 14. Nighthawk Tribute Nighthawk is name of LEGO Technic set 8412 that I got when I was child. I liked its tilting rotor and overall design inspired by Bell 47. Now I've built this studless tribute model that has all features of original one plus few more. And it is also alternative model built only out of parts from set 42077. Functions: crank for spinning both rotors lever in cockpit for tilting main rotor in two axes (this is not realistic function but it is reproduction of functionality of set 8412) fake six-cylinder flat engine with moving pistons adjustable seat in cockpit Dimensions: lenght: 65 cm width: 20 cm height: 27 cm number of parts: about 800 Video: Discussion topic:

Thank you all for your comments! Yes, I plan to create building instructions for it and put them to others at buildinst.cz
