I agree regards the gun arm. The minicopter works as an idea, and could be worse... but let's face it, it could be a lot better. I need to MOD the other Agents sets as well, get rid of some of the bits I don't like so much, tidy them up a bit. Especially as I've not seen many Agents MODs surface yet (if any), so I can do something that's entirely my own. That, and I really like MODing. Picked it up yestersday. Not sure what to buy yet. And for once, this really was flirting. One of the other helpers became the butt of everyone's jokes because he tried to chat up every girl that walked past him (unsuccessfully). The rest of us weren't quite that bad, but we gave it a go. Everyone noticed me flirting with another helper for most of the day. I surprised myself really, I'd only met her once before, and there I was chatting away. The strangest bit of the day was when I leant her my jacket because she was cold. Not an unusual thing to do normally, but it was unusual for me to do it. I have mild OCD (it does seem to be getting worse though), and as a result don't like people touching my things. You know, my things my way. So to lend out my jacket was really odd. She was quite nice though... Yeah... it was pretty inevitable wasn't it? And I might have to use that quote, it's rather nice. I sense my Wayne Manor will be somewhat unimpressive. I need to get a couple of brick buckets or something, replenish my 'wall bricks', I'm running out! Add to that the fact that it has to go on top of the Batcave, which can only occupy half the top shelf. It also has to accomodate the Batplane, huge as it is. Yes, do Freeze's lab. Other Gotham landmarks? Off the top of my head: hideouts for the villains, like the Joker's carnival and Riddler's detective agency. Then there's Haley's circus, the ACE Chemical plant, the Wayne penthouse, the clocktower, the sewers, Blackgate (or Stonegate), Gotham University, Brentwood Academy, Crime Alley/Park Row, the docks/Tricorner, Robinson Park, various bridges including the Sprang Bridge, Jack Drake's house, Gotham Memorial hospital, various museums... that enough for you? Yeah? Whenever we did table tennis at school we just messed around. Oh, that is awesome. At one point, the footage had obviously been flipped because the POLARIS was written backwards. But no matter. It doesn't detract from the awesomeness that is the Riddler's Polaris sky-writer. We've forgotten something else: the brilliantly hidden Batcycle. Hidden behind two tree cuttings and a dandelion. I remember that! That was really the point where it started to slide into the realms of bizarre. Watched the second part of this weeks episodes tonight, Pop Goes The Joker and Flop Goes The Joker. The Joker turns to art, Alfred turns to art, Gordon and O'Hara sleep in the office and Bruce Wayne gets in on the Bat-fight (again). But the best bit was the end, where... well, I won't spoil it for you, but it's really good. I strongly suggest you check it out: swords, Shakespeare and strangeness. I believe she took over Robinson Park. You know, I don't think I've ever seen NML anywhere, either in a shop or in the library. No, that's not true, I think I've seen Vol.5 once. But only once. Mad Love, no. I've never seen that anywhere either. Seriously, we're forgotten over here. Really? I didn't notice, because (once again) I was eating at the time. Seriously, is that all I ever do? Just need to actually finish writing #7. Then I'll send them for editing. You know, lonely as it is being the only IRL comic geek I know, I wouldn't change it. To be honest, I like being different, and I can impress (that's the word is it?) people with my in-depth knowledge. Besides, I couldn't cope knowing someone too similar to me. I don't think I've read Unresolved Targets, but I have read Quick and the Dead, and I think I may have read Dead Robin, but I'm not sure. I probably haven't if I can't remember. They're good reads, I agree. I need to see if I can find the others, but I'm not holding out much hope. Yeah... that's another thing I need to get. EDIT: What the?!

I can't wait... Oh, so do I mate. I need something to fixate on! The UK release date is October 10th. After a quick bit of digging, the Australian release date is October 3rd. Wait... that means you get it before me. There appear to be a couple of new Alfred screenshots here. Nice.

    Lego Batman TV cartoon

Yeah, I guess. Some people just don't 'get' Lego. Touche. Changed my mind, get Adam West instead! To be honest, I'd watch it whatever. I mean, it's possible it'll be like the Bat-animations on the official website. They were done without dialogue and they were still pretty cool. But I still want a proper full-length cartoon.
  4. I don't know. I think they look okay. Some of them look a bit, you know, but some of them look quite nice. The small drilling machine looks pretty neat. The mech looks a bit weird though, with the strange hips. They are a bit difficult to make out in places though, so I may change my mind when we get more pictures. And they're preliminary, so subject to change.

The what I did today thread ......

Makes a change from it being me... It was, yeah. To be honest, I'm not too good in social situations either, but it's weird- when I was there, I hardly noticed, and was openly chatting to people.

    Today marks school....

Went back to college the other day. Honestly? My timetable is awful. I've got big 4 hour breaks in the middle of 3 of the 5 days. I've no time to go home in them, so I'm at college pretty much all day, every day. I need to find something to do, so I might ask if any of the staff need any help...

    Mcdonalds batman promotion.

I didn't really get my hopes up much in the first place, so I'm not all that bothered. Sure, they're not great, and they're not actual Lego. But, if they had been, I'd have wanted them all, and that would probably have been difficult (for me at least). At least now I don't actually have to go to McDonalds.

    Batman theme in 2009

Arkham was sort of exclusive though, wasn't it? So it's hardly a stretch to make more. Unless it didn't sell well, in which case... I'd certainly buy them... if any of the shops over here stocked them. I'm sure I've said that a couple of times as well. Batbrick's right, calm down. We've not heard any word of Castle yet either.

The what I did today thread ......

Do you remember just before you left, and I said that suddenly loads of news would appear as soon as you miss any length of time? Yeah... looks like I was right. Helped out at college today, for £20 I hasten to add. The new first years started back today, everyone else starts tomorrow. It was just pointing people in the right direction, that sort of thing. £20 is hardly bad though, considering how little work I actually did. Seriously, I spent the day talking to the other helpers, eating a free sausage sandwich, talking to one of the new students (she kept coming to me for directions!) and sitting around doing not very much. Oh, and flirting... just a little.

I can't see the inside the way I've had to display it, so it's not a massive problem. But I know it's there (or rather, not), so it'll get sorted at some point. I went for the box-art design, like you did, with the shorter gun. I mean, we can't have him holding it out miles in front of him, can we? The mini-copter... needs some work, I'll be honest. But it has potential, so I'm determined to get it to work. We really are the back-end of nowhere up here. UK stock delivery is bad enough, but it reaches all the docks in the south and then sort of doesn't make it up here. Or does, three months late. We did. Well, we do. I've not got it yet, because no-one told finance that there were students in that needed paying. But, considering the large amount of standing around I did today, £20 isn't bad. Seriously, I spent most of today talking to various people, and sneaking round the new buildings. Oh, and flirting. There was a little bit of that as well. Hang on... fruit and chips? Something healthy, immediately ruined by something not. Not that I can talk, I got a free sausage sandwich today. I really want to build my own Wayne Manor now, thanks to all this. Of course, I'll have to build my Batcave first. Hardly a small task. Ha, well we are up North. We don't get anything, because the South gets it all. But, the report was good for a laugh, just because it was such a ludicrous waste-of-time. No, not really. I'm just not into sport at all, of any kind (although I did see some of the weightlifting for some reason). Trouble is, in 4 years time, it'll be impossible for me to avoid it. It'll be everywhere, all over the TV, in all the papers, on the streets. Wait... in 4 years time I'll just be finishing Uni. God, that's scary. No, it's a good line. But only in context. No one would actually say that really... ever. And like you say, at the end: "Holy heartbreak!" "I know the perfect victim, I know the perfect victim, I know the perfect victim... Bruce Wayne." And of course, old judgemental Batman was back: "They may be drinkers Robin, but they're still human beings." Did you notice him taking his glove(s) off to answer the Batphone in the Cave at the end. The first time he stood holding them in a really camp pose, then he threw them over his shoulder! Question is though, why is a pre-atomic submarine equipped with Polaris missiles? It does rather seem that way. Which is good, it means we can (or, you can) celebrate another defining era of Batman properly. Um... no. None that I can think of. There's Harley and Ivy (I haven't read it) and she was in Dini's Detective Comics recently (Stalked). Other than that, nothing much springs to mind at the moment, sorry. Yes, actually. I watched the next two, Cat Scratch Fever and The Strange Secret of Bruce Wayne. First off, is there anything shifty going on in Gotham that Daggett isn't involved in?! Second, I guessed that was Achilles Milo before the credits revealed it. The other thing I noticed here was that Isis was voiced by Frank Welker. As in Frank "G1 Megatron" Welker. Other than that, it was a nice episode. Batman and Catwoman done right, see. Bruce Wayne was very good. It's always nice to see more of the main villains, and Joker was especially good here, particularly his answer phone. "Please leave your message after the scream..." But... was there anyone that Hugo Strange didn't share his Bruce Wayne is Batman secret with? He blabbed it to everyone! Speaking of, I've sent the final version of #3, and the drafts of #6 and #7 will be winging their way to you shortly for editing. Oh yes it was, wasn't it. I hadn't noticed that. I've read his recent The Thing run, and let's face it, the two couldn't be much more different. Here's something to do for fun. Go back and read it again, but this time put on a silly, pantomime-style voice for Etrigan's bits. I did it, great fun. Signed, P. N. Guin

No need to sound so surprised... That's... the same cover as before, just shifted over a bit. What's the point in that? Oh, and I don't think I'll ever get bored of that Batman and Robin running teaser poster you've just posted ???theriddler???.

    Lego Batman TV cartoon

The one form over on Legions of Gotham? If so, yes, I have. Good news indeed. I'm not so sure. I think it works because they can't speak. Personally, and this is just me, I like that they don't speak in the games and such. It gives them a character beyond the voice. Plus, that means that when we're playing with our Lego (hey, we're all just big kids really) we can put whatever voice we want to it, rather than have a set one. However, I wouldn't complain too much if they got Conroy back. Yeah, good point.

Indeed she does. Very nice looking. Still not Babs though... Fair enough. I believe TLG have had a few designs of their own over the years. *Snigger*

Quite alright. I sense I may have to keep this catalogue just for its cover. I'm wondering if that's maybe Joker's helicopter. It certainly looks like it might be. Um... I don't think there are, are there? Just a few characters left to be revealed.

Did it say it was one 20-30 minute episode with the possibility of more in the future? I don't know, I can't remember, and I can't be bothered checking. Ah of course, the wonder of Youtube. Well it would certainly be odd to have a game and a cartoon, and a 70th anniversary and no new sets, wouldn't it?

    Catwoman Revealed?

Yeah. I know. How could he not know what he was saying?! She's got to be the most enduring of the Bat-girlfriends. Most of them are forgotten or killed, but not Catwoman. All of the Batman media have picked up on it in some way or another. But because she operates on both sides of the law, Batman's never entirely comfortable with the relationship.

Not too sure about Special Editions or Exclusives. I'm having enough trouble as it is finding the regular release sets in stores here, let alone having to track down Special Editions as well. But it would be nice to see the line expand elsewhere. It's got to be one of the most underrated of the current themes.

    New space sets!? :O

Funnily enough, it's much the same here. I missed out on Classic Space completely, and then the stuff from the late-80s/early-90s. Even after that, I was never a big Space buyer. If this new theme mixes the new and the old it could be really good. 'Could' is of course the key word there. However, looking at what we've already seen of next year, I'm hopeful.

Quiet you! It's a wonderful set, frankly. The inside is a little sparse, but it's nothing a little MODing can't fix (speaking of, I really must get round to MODing the others as well). The door doesn't look quite as face-y in the flesh. All those trans orange pieces look really cool (or should that be hot?), and dark brown really is such a nice colour. The figs are all neat, and it frees up a Doctor Inferno for a display mini-vig. Deep Sea Quest is out here, but at £5 over-priced in the only shop it's available in, I might order it sometime. But I think I'll try and get the Bat-sets first, which still aren't out in the shops! I'm in college again on Monday, but I don't know if we get paid this time (I assume we do). The new first years start back on Monday, and everyone else starts on Tuesday. They need people there on Monday to direct students. Funny thing is though, we've got two new buildings, so we don't know where where we're going either. The list of Wayne Manor features. You asked for help, so I'm going to do it properly. Especially as a think tank issued a report a couple of weeks ago that basically said that the North was rubbish and poor, and everyone should move down South instead. There was a wonderful photo in the local paper this week of a parade thing that his home town put on through the streets, to honour him and celebrate his return. Great photo... spoilt only by the bus in the background that was waiting for the road to be reopened. Oh, that was a horrible line. And what about the bit in Gordon's office when they're working out who the villains are this time: "It happened at sea. C for Catwoman." Favourite line though? "Bless my dustpan!" Ah, in that case, I might have to do the same, then we can discuss them. All thanks to Youtube (unless you're me, then it's thanks to video recorders). Yes, that was good. She's not right to do it, but then she's perhaps not entirely wrong either. I agree with you there, so far at least. I didn't notice the theme tune, but I'll look out for it next time I watch it (I was eating lunch at the time). I just wish Bruce would stop wearing that awful yellow and brown suit... Exactly. Three silver droids means lots of silver (plus there'll be spares). Silver always looks good. Answered your own question there. Yeah, I managed to get it a while ago for something like £2.99 or £3.99. It's a good read, especially the Humpty Dumpty bits (in fact, I read it on the coach on the way down to Cambridge University with college). Plus it's always nice to see more of Arkham in any way we can get it. And it was on offer.

    Catwoman Revealed?

Batman Begins. As if either of us would have talked to Nolan... If Catwoman is done right (if), like in either the comics or the 60s series, then she's a great character. If not, well, we all know what happened then.

I found the new GAME upcoming releases today, and not only does the game get a page of its own, it gets the cover as well. Nothing new revealed, but it's a really neat cover. It's the same as the game box-art, but only Batman and Robin are coloured. If you want a scan, I can get one up?

    Lego Batman TV cartoon

A Lego cartoon, any Lego cartoon, is great. But a Lego Batman cartoon? Wow... I really hope I'll get to see this. It says it's a US cartoon, which means if it does make its way over here it'll be on one of the digital/cable channels... which I don't have. No matter however, as for now I'll revel in amazingness that is a Lego Batman cartoon.
  24. No, it's just generally for all things TF. Trust me, I started it. Ah, but, it's been said several times that there are fake facts and such out there as well, to confuse everyone. Just becase he's on the list, doesn't mean he's in the film. But it would be nice.

    What did you buy today?

Treated myself to Volcano Base the other day, after getting £40 for helping out at college Thursday and Friday last week. Great set. I also picked up 6163 A World of Lego Mosaic on offer for only £6 last week. For 600 pieces, that's hardly bad, and most of those are the ever useful 1x1 bricks. And it had two of those wonderful trans clear baseplates.
