Oh wow, pretty damn close, perhaps a shade lighter, I haven't dabbled in Lepin but they do seem to have gone the extra mile in making more exact clones. I did forget about Lepin, I was going more off what Enlighten and Ausini come out with in my comment. I wonder what the Lepin Horizon Express orange is like, even if it was slightly off though it would drive me nuts mixing the bricks with LEGO stuff.

Not marketplace but http://www.blokbricks.com/ has nice stuff, especially if you like Dutch trains, and some that are reasonably priced. I got the cattle wagon before the one in the official cargo set, nicer too.

Control all your Powered Up & Power Function (SBrick) devices with a single software
bricks n bolts replied to Cosmik42's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I assume you've seen the 4DBrix documentation at https://www.4dbrix.com/documentation/arduino/ Great project Cosmik, years ago I started on a similar idea (https://github.com/Gumphrie/bcc) with @Asperworking on a Raspberry Pi but didn't get much further than sBrick and Brickster support. The idea was to provide a web interface for controlling the trains that could then work on any wifi networked screen such as an old iPad, then my Raspberry Pi blew up and I didn't get much more time for the project. Don't know anyone beyond @codefox421 and @legoman666 who actually built the Brickster modules, which are highly compact open source BT receivers. We had lots of fun attempting to fit them into the tiny 3x4 brick case (https://www.shapeways.com/product/RMEMYNGSK/brickster-case?li=search-results-1&optionId=43490793) without severing the contacts, but they can be put in a 4x4 brick. -
I'm loving that door handle feature as well as the train! Which piece is that?

MOC: Flying Scotsman (with free instructions)
bricks n bolts replied to damangos's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Wow, really nice build, thanks for making and sharing such clear instructions! -
If you don't mind the odd dabbling in heretic ways, I would only trust white or black as a colour match from clone brands, then maybe greys and blue under extreme caution. So tan windows = next to impossible. However, black bogie plates should be good unless you get a badly molded one. Still think these hidden sets are taking away from core LEGO play-ability... as soon as the children MOD it to something else, the image recognition will stop working for the ghost things. That's if they get round to playing with bricks at all with a phone stuck in front of their faces. Could be wrong but don't see how that re-railer track piece helps AFOLs, it's really what you would want for DUPLO level. Maybe it's because you have one hand stuck to your phone, which is also stuck to your face, so cannot focus very well where the wheels are going.

Seems to be sacrificing core LEGO play-ability for this Pokemon Go type idea. Wait for the part outs for some reddish brick and black train doors from that loco. Can be thankful for that at least, before the 60052 blue doors, it was starting to look like train doors were a thing of the past...

Beware of this German language site : https://www.rebbstore.xyz/index.php?main_page=advanced_search_result&search_in_description=1&keyword=lego eisenbahn&inc_subcat=0&sort=20a&page=1 Almost fainted when I saw the prices, apparently they have a huge inventory of super rare sets such as 7786, 7750, 10027, etc.. and all new sets at around 35 Euros each.

Too good to be true [WARNING SCAM SITE]
bricks n bolts replied to bricks n bolts's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Thought I'd make some noise as wasn't seeing it listed anywhere as a scam site, people could fall for it if only picking up one set off a google search. Yes, the 7786 and 7750 images are definitely lifted and just one example, the going rate for a 10027 train shed is 250 Euro used and 350 Euro used. The support email is also to a different domain and the English version doesn't show any thing which is just odd. Good spot on the WHOIS info. -
Replacement motors for 4.5V/12V chassis (Bühler)

If you get stuck PM me and I can post you one, think I have some spare. -
Replacement motors for 4.5V/12V chassis (Bühler)
bricks n bolts replied to Fidelio's topic in LEGO Train Tech
You're welcome! Basically, yes. Just be careful not to damage the original motor gear when removing. I did buy a few, ended up fitting one to a PF motor, so running was more inline with 12v rather than 9v, that worked out fine. PF motors can take a bit of over voltage though, so not sure I would do it again. -

The motor I mentioned in that thread is still available at Conrad : https://www.conrad.com/p/miniature-brushed-motor-motraxx-x-train-263-h0-6440-rpm-229021 For instructions consult Railbricks 6, page 41 : https://brickmodelrailroader.com/wp-content/uploads/railbricks/railbricks_6-print.pdf -
Lego train arduino (esp8266), power/
bricks n bolts replied to Protez1982's topic in LEGO Train Tech
This is cool, anyone tried one of these with the Toshiba TB6612FNG? : https://uk-m.banggood.com/Mini-Ultra-small-Size-ESP-M3-From-ESP8285-Serial-Wireless-WiFi-Transmission-Module-p-1215064.html Wow, that looks compact. What are the total dimensions? Does the STM32 chip you have already have wifi and you just need to figure out how to use it or do you still need to get a version with the wifi component onboard? -
Good to know what LEDs to use to fix these, thanks Johnathon.

Looks like you are missing some library for the compiler to work. Take a look here : https://stackoverflow.com/questions/17808084/fatal-error-libudev-h-no-such-file-or-directory

Resurrection of some old 12v tracks (powering new trains)
bricks n bolts replied to Unfinished_Projects's topic in LEGO Train Tech
You're very welcome, glad I could help. Looking forward to the arrival of your 7740! -
Good to hear you've got good traction now! Hope you find a good method to reinforce the drive wheels. You mean ME Model stuff or thinking of something else?

Huge train station MOC of 25.000 bricks
bricks n bolts replied to AlmightyArjen's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Wow, seriously impressive Almightly! Great scale and ingenious level of automation and lighting, like the white too. Presentation is fantastic. Curious as to how long it all took you do design and build and what lighting systems plus tech you've used. Love the Kepler, is that the one from Blokbricks?- 43 replies

Classic, the scale works so well and I bet the kids can identify well with it as something they have seen. You've also perfected the almost lost art of building with the old figs, took me a while to spot 'grandma' at the booth - she had to be there somewhere!

Excellent review! I don't own the whole set as have no use for PF battery or receiver/controller with 12v but I did get the cargo station section very cheaply from Ebay and used the idea here to extend it to twice it's normal size. Also if you are a fan of the cow wagon you can get the lovely Blokbricks Wagon, although they seem to revamping their website at the moment, I already had one before 60052 came out. Sorry for the grainy picture, quickly taken with my phone :

Personally I was hoping for light grey, ether light bley or old light grey, being into '80s retro. Light bley would be the most consistent with the newer stuff. If you think about it, that's what Lego should have gone back to once they removed the metal from the rails..
-
These are looking pretty damn sweet, with the turntable and reversibility, any update for us on the injection molding? Does that mean you'll only be offering them in dark bley?
-
Great narrow gauge engines and classic car. Liking it, is the idea to have the pneumatic steamer live in a steam park / museum setting? If so, could make the carriages a little bit more open plan with a tonne of those short leged kid minifigs.
-
Very nice, I like how you've got so many of the detail in there, especially the 'barrel' thing on the top and the warning sticker. Great KÖF!

With one of the yellow things attached, it will be pointing towards the track on the turnout (I think?), taking out about 1.5 studs, so there might be an issue on some models. Will the axle hole mechanism still be an option or have you had to ditch that idea? Also thinking using the 'current official' mechanism with only 4 studs leaves little room for automation.
