I agree with Zmasterbrick above. Lego as a brand is far from dying, but it does feel like they're starting to forget their roots, constantly adding new pieces and more big chunks (I know we have some weird acronym for that, but I can't remember what it is) like the BURPs, instead of trying to create with the few parts that exist like they were in the 80s. The concept is still fun, and every once in a while they create a new technique for building with existing parts, but these feel fewer and farther between. This in addition to the new focus shifting to mini figures, I would hope that lego do some soul searching, and try to look backwards for ideas on how to go forward.

I tend to say that it would look like the bars are way too think, but if authenticity isn't your goal, you could try. Personally, I miss the antenna pieces for jails like they did with the late 80s sets, maybe try that route?

Honestly the best prices for road plates are S@H. Occasionally, and I stress VERY occasionally, I've found them at TRU during the BOGO sales, that's when I try to stock up. I've worked it out and for my layout it seems like tiles are more useful, but also more expensive.

I hope you will do a review of it for us. I'm hesitant to pick it up after the last couple of disappointing ships, but I'm loving the blue coat return.

Why are there less reviews than before on Eurobricks?
Dhivael replied to kinggregus's topic in General LEGO Discussion
You're certainly not alone in that feeling. It seems like the last couple of years there are fewer photo-reviews of the newer waves of sets. There are, however, many more youtube reviews. I'm surprised by this in part because of the popularity of the brick link review academy. -
I don't have issues with the scale. It's a beautiful representation of the subject matter. I'll hope other TIEs make the cut in the future, but I will say I am disappointed by the sheer number of stickers in the set. Not wild about them. Nor the price-tag. Seems like Slave-I is a better investment certainly more colorful and with the quick turnaround I'm going to have to pick only one. Maybe if TLG discounts this one I'll pick it up down the road, but if not, no great loss.

This is the best news ever... except I sincerely hope that they are prepared for the popularity of this set, something they failed to do with the Research Scientists set. I worry this one will be hard to get my hands on.

I love this set, although not the price tag. I respectfully disagree with those expressing disappointment at the scale or the "trophy" micro-figs. I think it's a fantastic idea, and extraordinarily well executed by TLG designers. I see this as a UCS set much like the Star Wars line, and it will look amazing next to my SSD Executor. I'm looking forward to picking this up... as soon as I can scrape together some funding, although it'll probably come at the expense of the UCS Slave I. I will also echo the disappointment at the lack of Coulson though. Would have loved to see him instead of Hawkeye. But I'm thrilled with the other offerings.

I am hoping it is a coding issue or something like that. Did they ever show "in stock"? Almost all the new sets show "out of stock/will ship in 30 days" I just can't decide if I should order now or wait for them to show in stock first?

Nice build. Sort of reminds me of the Ambulance ship (thing?) from Firefly.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 13 Rumours and Discussion
Dhivael replied to just2good's topic in Special LEGO Themes
IMO: Carpenter: Very excited about the saw. I can't wait for that. The board is a welcome print too, but there will never be enough. Fencer: Love the fencer. Will need a pair though. Lady Cyclops: Meh. Not wild about it. Paleontologist: I like the glasses. That's a welcome addition. Space Trooper: It's Space! How can you not love it! Disco Diva: Cute. l'll replace the head probably. Evil Wizard: Meh. I like the S12 wizard better, but i'll pick it up. Sheriff: Love it!! made me laugh out loud. Alien Trooper: Nope. Samurai Girl: Very excited about this. Still haven't been able to pick up a Nya, and I'm hoping for a nice costume under the armor. Snake Charmer: Snake is an awesome mold. King: Probably the best one in the series. I want this!! Unicorn Girl: I LOVE IT!!! Goblin: Meh. Hot Dog Guy: No. Just. No. I'll probably get one for an MOC food truck vender thing... Egyptian Warrior: Nice. I'll get a pair to guard Cleo, but otherwise not my favorite one ever. Overall, Great series, I'm glad lego is still doing these. -
I love the story that he tells with this set. The Prohibition stuff is just fun and funny. I was already convinced I wanted it, but it's truly exceptional work by TLG and Jamie/Team.

I know I am slightly off topic, but where can I find the instructions? -
Why is Eurobricks banner pink flowers?
Dhivael replied to Kierna's topic in Forum Information and Help
I'm with the majority here. How is it in any way embarrassing? Maybe I just have a lower sense of this stuff as an adult who is on a forum devoted to toys? -
I've seen a few, and I've got my own rolling around the MOC hopper-- trying to scale mine to fit in with the modular/creator series while preserving the "feel" of the actual building. Mostly at this point i just need to order more parts... once i have some disposable income again...

Amazing. Very well done.

I know this is a big ask, but could/would a moderator move the pictures to the first post? or at least a link to the right page? Or at least going forward? I love the conversation, but it's often hard to find what I'm looking for... Beyond the Arctic sets (and trains), is there anything else is coming in Summer '14? Not that my wallet wants there to be. That's all I've seen thus far?

Discussion Should LEGO make a Military Theme?
Dhivael replied to KisKatona's topic in Special LEGO Themes
They probably would. They're legos, regardless of if there's a war theme or not, although kids tend to build tanks and warships and stuff anyway. That said, TLG won't, and TLG shouldn't. And I for one am glad of that. -
A closer look at Emmets apartment building
Dhivael replied to Super Goblin's topic in Special LEGO Themes
^It looks very similar to the Town Hall. Colors, architecture, skylights. -
The old good news/bad news. I'm glad they haven't ruled the female mini fig series out. I really hope they do it. Sherlock would be fun if they get the rights, but I'm curious what they would do with them. Just the figures? or 221B?
-
I would start by checking with FedEx. Very occasionally they've misdelivered to a neighbor, or mark it as delivered before it actually is.

^My guess is that they didn't work New Years Day, so they'll probably process it today or monday and get it out to you next week.
