Bricklink Designer Program 2021 Discussion Thread

At least they finally added that at least! Still agree that it's hard to navigate and see additional images, but this is at least a little easier. -

^this, especially when the voting process is a total pain. They need a more user friendly way to do the voting if this continues. -
These look nice, but I'm surprised these leaked and Gringotts didn't, unless that's no longer happening/rumored?

BrickTracks: different curves, PF/9V compatible

Seems like this page has been awfully quiet for the last 6 months. Has something happened? @coaster any updates on future projects? -

I know COVID has slowed stuff down (and these switches really do look excellent) but I wondered if you had any update on when you might be looking to start the R72 & 88 curves? -
I'm glad to hear that, @LegoFjotten. I was getting worried about the reports also. I'm hoping it was just a few errors early on in production.

MOC: Flying Scotsman (with free instructions)
Dhivael replied to damangos's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Is there any chance anyone put together a brick link compatible parts list for this that they'd be willing to share? Edit: @VirusZero, the link above from brick safe (dated 10/1) still works. -
At the risk of having missed this elsewhere in this thread, which pants did you use for Krennic? They all look great!

Really excited to hear this news-- I've been holding off buying R88s from others hoping that this would be coming soon. -
Wow, I stand corrected. That changed fast. I’m extraordinarily disappointed with TLGs decision here. I understand their lawyers shutting down other IPs, but going that far on customized bricks or prints seems unnecessary and antithetical to the community.
-
[emphasis mine] Where are you seeing that? So far all I've seen is idle speculation on the part of worried AFOLs that this will be the case. So far TLG has said that they're planning to be hands-off on this. I'm still hopeful that they won't crack down quite that far.
-
I love this-- reminds me of one of my favorite sets of all time-- 6265 (Sabre Island). Great job!

It’s up in the US. And for once the website was smooth sailing— I was even able to use gift cards to pay.

There is a lot of speculation on what will happen with these happening across many platforms, and this seems like speculation at best. Until TLG weighs in saying so, I would be surprised that they would cancel and not just find a new home for these.

I keep hanging onto an unfounded hope to hear that the car and tree set will be part of a hogwarts express re-release. Thats where we got them the first time around, and I am sad I passed on the set then. Price point seems similar to the 2010 release too.

Although, it is a 6x6 tile and not a 4x4 like you suggest. Which IS a lego element, and does come in blue. See, http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=6881#T=S&C=7&O={"color":7}

I saw a rumor on reddit that there is a new UCS Falcon box pic floating around, has anyone heard this rumor or is it just the standard hopes and dreams of lego SW fans?
-
I finally caved and ordered the U-Wing from amazon. With the discount, it was too good a deal to pass up on the first weekend of release. It will join the TIE Striker and AT-AT on my shelf.

IMO, I am impressed at the sheer number of mini figures that lego has made for the SW theme. I am sure this is not the most-widely held belief, but I do not have many complaints about how these have progressed. Main characters are of course going to be repeated. It is the only way to bring new people into the market. The 9 year-old wants Luke and Han, not Willow Hood. While this is not truly scientific, according to brick link there are 833 star wars mini figures. This represents almost 1/10th of all the unique lego figs ever made. Regardless of cost, the quality does not seem to be generally lacking either. Yes, I am disappointed that Jyn did not have leg printing. Yes, I was disappointed that there was not a widely available C-3PO in the TFA waves. Yes, some could have (some, or better) arm printing. That said, this has been building for a while. The printing on the SW line seems awesome, and I am overall quite pleased. And I will be looking forward to Thrawn next year to fill that particular void in my EU MOCs.

^The Striker is huge, but it is also one of my (non-expert) favorite sets in a while. Some interesting building techniques I do not remember seeing in a basic release, and just a very solid, swishable fighter. And the shore trooper is cool as well. All in all, well worth the price tag, IMHO.

That is not how I read his comments. I thought he said that we are getting the two that leaked in the winter wave and two additional battle packs in the summer wave?
-
Got revan in-store. So that's still one alternative if you have a store close by. Edit: IL US ~1130AM.
-
Sometimes they go up as backordered before they are in-stock. I wouldn't worry. They are still showing up as Out of Stock for me though.

Let us know if that is true. That would be a welcome surprise. Although I hope they will make the RO sets live with the promotion if it is true.
