  1. I've put some pics of the original model and my modified version next to eachother for better compairison: The original car is quite a massive and sturdy build, and I must say I had to sacrifice some of the stability. But not a lot! My modified version has some weak spots: The part below the windscreen is a bit weaker because I had to make some room for the hinges and for the minifigs. But the weakness only shows up when you are replacing parts and heve to press down really hard. So there is no loss of playability. Other weaker point is the roofscection. Because I have shortened it, the midsection is made of a multiple of parts. Not one. Solved with Lego's inverted rounded off 2x2 plates. 3rd weak point is the attachement of the sidewindows. each side is attached by 1 clip piece in the front. But that is solved by securing it tight in the back. So it's not weaker than the original set-up. 4th weak spot are the rearwheels. Because of the two seats there was less room to attach the wheel. But all of these 'weak' spots are only noticeable when your rebuilding te car. Thanks guys, for the nice comments!
  2. That's cool man... I'd love to build the cadillac in pre-ecto stage with all the primer spots... But a clean hearse would also be awesome. Oh, and I gotta give the batmobile/hearse a try too!

Hahah, that is cool! Now go build it...

    21108 Ghostbusters Ecto 1 Mods

That interior is superb! I recently purchased an Ecto 1 and think it's an awesome set worth every penny. Like you, I thought there still was some room for improvements. I made some mods on the exterior, but didn't think of modifying the interior. Until I saw your photos on flickr. (I recommend posting more pics here though ) Man... what you've done is awesome. I love the sollution of the attachement of the sidewindows. More room now. I used that technique on my Ecto, but I had this one problem: I shortened the cabin by 1 stud for a more appealing exterior. So I had to work with an even smaller interior and am not able to get it as detailed as yours. Also tried my hands at building an enginecompartement, thanks to you!
  5. Hi guys! Long time no speak. I haven't been into Lego's lately due to lack of time and catching up on life untill a few weeks ago. I got myself the Ecto 1, and I'm loving it. Already did some modifications which I'll show you some other time. I also have some good news about my batmobile on the lego-ideas site. A few weeks ago it got chosen to be Staff Pick! What an honour... And that means it got featured on the main page of Lego-ideas. That seemed the break I really needed. My project has been seen by lot's of people and that generated a lot of voters. Really a lot. Because of all the interest the car has been ranked top 4 - 3 - 2 - and 1 in their popularity charts. Number 1 for almost 2 weeks in a row! So the car is still on the frontpage, but it's slipping due to the gaining popularity of some other great projects... I'm really fascinated how these internetvoting system works. And I think it's one of Lego's better marketing strategies. I came across an article regarding Lego's comunity-strategies and was very happy to see the writers used my Batmobile-project as an example, generating more publicity! Thanks to all who have cast their votes on my project, and to all who will :)

    66 Batmobile (LB3 MOC)

You've done a great job in recreating the car from the game. Although Lego could've done a better job in designing, it really does have the spirit of that famous car. I like how they did the slanted fins.

My attempt at a 1966 Batmobile

Great job on one of my favorite tv/movie cars! I saw it on ideas, but didn't like the canopy/windshield pieces. But you've made some major improvements on the car! It may be slightly to big for minifigs but it looks awsome. Would be great as a new 'model-team' set.

    [MOC] Batman Beyond Batmobile

Nice! I like the use of quite a lot of red on black. I see it as a salute to the 1966 Batmobile. My favorite ;) Supported on ideas. Now go build it with real bricks! ;)
  9. Thanks! Ehm, no... sorry, but that will take up too much of my time. Try to focus on the pics and if you have any questions on something you see, I'll be happy in trying to explain :) Also, Cuusoo isn't the place for mods. I'll very much doubt it that Lego will considder producing a haunted house 2.0 that looks so much like the original. But I considder you saying so a great compliment. Thanks! :) Thank you all for the nice words! Yes Talos, and I think it's a shame that they don't continue with the Monster Fighters theme. It was an 'original' Legotheme that attracted both children AND adults I think. And they did some sets that could have come out better in a bigger designed set. Just hoping it will come back someday. Here in Holland there are still specialized stores which carry some of the cool sets like the train, the hearse, and the haunted house...
  10. Well thank you Carlos S. The Haunted House is an amazing set. I think one of the best all-time Lego-releases. I just had some personalizing ideas for it. Like making it more look like Disneys Phantom Manor. And I just went from there...
  11. Thank you Laservampire! Make shure you show your love for it on lego ideas!! VOTE and SHARE! (via link below)
  12. Thanks montyofmusic! Would be great if you show your appreciation in helping me get 10000 votes on Lego-ideas for this project. By voting and, maybe even more important, sharing the project ;) I have been thinking about sharing stuff since somebody stole my design to make a profit out of it on the www... I usually like sharing tips and tricks as can be seen by the many pics I always post on my buildthreads. I'm not eager to do that anymore... I'll make an exception for now, because this is a rather simple tip ;) Just use any of the snot parts Lego is overflowing their sets with lately. I've used these to attach the 1x1x4 slopes: http://brickset.com/parts/6014615

    [MOC] Batmobile

    That's pretty!!
  14. Thanks! Go right ahead. Loved your victorian house since last year when I stumbled upon it. I'm wondering what ideas of mine you want to borrow.... Can't help but think you already have a beautiful finished house including detailed interior by now... Be shure to post pics when your done!! Can't wait to see your updates. :)
  15. Alert! Another copy of my Batmobile can be found for sale on Craigslist... :(
  16. Thanks CorneliusMurdock. It seems the item has indeed been removed. It was up until half an hour ago. I've also contacted the Lego-ideas team and luckilly got a quick reply that this isn't an issue for my project for Lego-ideas. The rules state that I am not allowed to sell the design before official release. Not that I am that arrogant to think my project will become an official release, but you'll never know... ;)
  17. Thanks flailx! No, I haven't worked with LDD yet... . Holy cr*p! Somebody actually stole my design, and then tries to sell it!!! As you easilly can see, it isn't quite as acurate as mine though... But I have it on lego-ideas as a proposal... Thanks for pointing out. Now, who has some advise how to handle these kind of sh*tguys??
  18. Thanks! I may use that as a quote some day... ;) Thanks lego-fan! Look closer. It's actually a very common piece. http://brickset.com/parts/4217722 These can be found on lot's of Creator-sets of late.
  19. THERE IS NO DANA, ONLY ZUUL! Presenting to you just a 'quicky'. Zuul, the hellhound from 80's movie Ghostbusters. Yes, I'm a bit of a GB-coattailrider here but it happens that GB belongs to my top 10 best 80's movie-list. :) I was inspired by masterbuilders Wet Wired and Sergio and their awesome Ghostbusters-builds but couldn't wait for them to build Zuul (let alone wait for THE Ecto1 to hit the stores...) so I build my own in the bricks that I have. Grey. Ofcourse it (probably) should be in a nice earth and olive green right...? Well, the Gargoyl out of what this beast emerged is grey, so I'm kinda safe... What else is there to say... Oh yeah, I used the newish Chima Legend beasts build-methods with the balljoints, and really made it my own. That was a fun challenge! :) Enjoy! Next to the GB-minifig and my Ecto1 it is kinda huge. A bit larger than the extralarge dog from the movies, but ofcourse Lego is a material of compromises. I agree that the body could use a little bit more mass... It'll just has to do, for now... Run little GB, Run like the wind! ...and try not to cross your beams... (my Ecto1 can be found here...)

    [MOC] ZUUL Ghostbusters hellhound.

Gracias my friend! Seriously? Then, by popular demand, I'll try to improve on Zuul and put it on Lego-ideas, if I can find the time...

    [MOC] ZUUL Ghostbusters hellhound.

Thanks you two! Gee, never considdered this one to become a Lego-ideas project... Maybe it's because I'm not 99% sattisfied with it. Yet. The body is too small and the jaw-construction which looks quite the part isn't sturdy(?) enough I guess. I really need to put some time into it to considder it a project worthy of Lego-ideas. ...in the meantime you can vote for my Batmobile though! Wink wink... ;) (see signature)

Thanks Lazy Chicken! I think i picked this eye-method on these pages here long before I came an active afol, so credits don't belong to me entirely... ;)
