PLEASE NO SPOILERS Episode VII. Is it good?
YSDWDY replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I was in the 5th grade when I saw Ep.IV in a theater. Needless to say it blew me away. I was almost in a shock when I walked out of the theater after watching Ep.V. Ep.VI made it whole again in the end, and made me able to truly enjoy Ep.V - which, after repeat viewings, I feel is the best. But, it's really hard to pick one OT film. If I had to pick only one, it'd be Ep.IV. I like different things about the prequels which came out after my college graduation. I enjoyed the lightsaber battles then, but they were way over choreographed (Crouching Tiger stuff) and a pain to watch in repeated viewings (especially after I started kendo - thanks in part to the OT ). I thought the plot of the fall of the republic and rise of the empire was clever and realistic. But it didn't bring back the feeling of watching any of the OT films (I suspected I had grown too old). I never bought the Jedi as military leaders. I went into Ep.VII showing with high hopes and anxiety of being let down. It lived up to my highest expectations. It brough back the feeling of watching the OT. My 4th and 2nd graders were blown away also. It was as good in the second viewing. Star Wars is back! -
Did you all stick around for the cookie reel at the end of the movie after the Bad Robot logo? [scene of Rey being interrogated by Captain Phasma at the Starkiller Base] Phasma: They never told you what happened to your mother. Rey: They told me enough! She left me to keep me safe from FO scum like you. Phasma: No, I'm your mother, and you are my son! Rey: Noooooooooooo! Phasma: Should I tell you who your father is? [scene ends] Now there's your answer to Phasma's puzzling actions and many others.

[MOC] Millennium Falcon - Still the coolest spaceship!

So this is the ship that made the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs. Altogether an awesome build. I take my hat off in admiration. -
[MOC]Episode VII-The Force Awakens-Apoca Star Destroyer on Jakku

Awesome work! Love the little details on the ISD. -
I always feel for the rebel ground troops in the Battle of Hoth. Hopelessly outgunned and vehicle-less, being served as cannon fodder for the AT-ATs. So I wanted to give them somewhat of a fighting chance. Hence, my MOC of Hoth Rebel Combat Speeder/Universal Carrier. This is the same vehicle featured in 8083 Rebel Trooper Battle Pack. The vehicle is dubbed "Rebel Combat Speeder" by TLG. But this model, which I once thought to be one of TLG's imaginary vehicles, actually existed as described in Star Wars Wikia as "laser ice-cutter". Source: http://starwars.wiki...aser_ice-cutter A 1980 ESB making documentary features the following. It has been suggested the vehicle was edited out becaue it rode too much like a 'snow mobile' rathe than a 'speeder'. A photo of the set shows the followng. Now, the vehicle can actually be seen in SW Ep.V as follows. Upon frame by frame analysis, I've found the following. IMO, the description that this vehicle's primary purpose is as an "ice-cutter" for the excavation of Echo Base is not correct. It is obviously a combat vehicle much like the Universal Carrier/Bren Gun Carrier or M16 Multiple Gun Carriage or FLAK halftrack. Hence, my design of that mystery rebel vehicle. .

He-he. This is something I want to go see! Great job!

OK. Sizes reduced as suggested. This is only a part of my bigger Echo Base MOC which I plan to display in about a year's time. So its entry in the Lego Ideas is only a side project. At the least, it is a way of establishing that these are my ideas. Anyway, something like this is what I expect to see from a Lego Echo Base UCS set.

Yes. Hopefully it will have a quality at least equal to Ewok Village. I look forward to getting a K-3PO and an Orange Astromech Droid for my Echo Base Command Center MOC.

This is so awesome. AT-ST is probably my favorite Empire vehicle and this model does it justice. I hope to make this for real and hopefully do something to make it stand on its own. Kudos!
