  1. In further Barnes & Noble news, you can use this coupon code to get 30% off one LEGO item: N7K9R7V This coupon is valid until 7 March.
  2. The Toys R Us Lego vs Duplo is certainly confusing, especially if you look at Lasoo (the online catalogue place that Toys R Us uses). There they provide a text description of catalogue items and it definitely says "All LEGO or Duplo". See here. Very tricky of TRU.
  3. I've now tested this and can confirm it is a valid coupon, 20% off anything not already on sale. Here's the original post if the above link doesn't work.
  4. Just got a Toys R Us promotional email that was slightly confusing, but seemed to imply there was 25% off some sort of LEGO Friday 27 August (today) - Sunday 29 August? There seems to be a typo though so I'm not sure if it's 25% off all LEGO or just some - it was accompanied by a pic of the Technic Buggy. Also TRU are having "Buy 2 LEGO games, get $5 off" this weekend. Seems pretty stingy to me!
  5. Saw all the new Star Wars sets at Kmart Marrickville (NSW) last night, including the CTT. Same prices as reported earlier in other states. Plus they had one solitary Hero Factory set!
  6. @faish888 The Australian government does provide a GST refund scheme for international visitors, where you can get the GST you have paid reimbursed to you at the airport as you leave. BUT you can only get it for items that you carry onto the plane in your hand luggage and that are over $300 from the one store. So unless you are buying a ton of small sets, it might not be any use to you - but anyway, there is more information here.
  7. I've just got back from Big W Campsie in Sydney and ended up buying 2x Galactic Enforcer, 2x Wind Turbine Transport and 1x Venator-class Cruiser. They had stock of everything: 2 Galactic Enforcers left (after my purchase!), 1 Y-Wing, 3 or 4 Venator-class Cruisers, 2 Millennium Falcons, 3 or 4 Wind Turbines, 5 Pig Farms, 3 Landspeeders, tons of Police Stations. Interestingly, as someone else mentioned, the Wind Turbine was still labelled at full price, but after scanning it came up at the sale price of $29.62.
  8. I've just returned from Myer Roselands (Sydney) – called beforehand and they had 3 Imperial Flagships – by the time I got there half an hour later there was only 1! I wasn't a Myer One member but they asked me if I wanted to sign up at the counter and get the 10% discount - yay. Got the giant Mario bag but no LEGO membership. They had run out of Emerald Nights and Cargo Trains (and now Imperial Flagships) but had 7 Fire Stations, Lamborghinis, Train Station, Space Police Central, a lot of stock generally.
  9. Just been to Toys R Us Moore Park (Sydney). 4 Fire Stations on the shelves. I am seriously considering getting one this weekend if there are any left! And despite what it said in the catalogue about "more LEGO deals in store", I didn't see any extra specials. Plenty of Toy Story 3, a gazillion of the impulse street sweeper, no sign of any of the newest sets that are in Toyworlds. My kingdom for a Kingdom impulse set! Anyone seen any?
  10. I found 3 (opened) boxes of Minifigures on the shelves of Target Rhodes (Sydney) this afternoon. Armed with my trusty barcode print out, I managed to get all 16 out of one box. The other interesting thing was that this Target still had the 20% off LEGO going! It would seem that some Targets have finished it early and others are going until 26 May. However it didn't seem to scan at the checkout that way and maybe I only got it because I asked, though there were still signs on the shelves. Even better, when they manually calculated it, 20% off became 25% off somehow, so I got all the minifigs for $3 each! Awesome. On the Toy Story 3 sets, I have been getting lots of reports of these popping up from Bricks Down Under readers. So far they've been seen at some Toyworlds, Myer, TRU and K Mart stores. Often they seem to be in a dedicated TS3 toy area rather than in the LEGO area. Hope this helps!
  11. A reader emailed me at Bricks Down Under to let me know that there are heaps of upcoming sets listed on the Mr Toys/Toyworld site, with prices and dates. It's practically the whole year's upcoming releases! I put them all in one list here.
  12. Good idea about the trade section on the new blog, I will keep it in mind. Just went to Target Leichhardt where there were 6 boxes yesterday - nothing there but an empty shelf. After peering around the back of a lot of shelves I found 2 lone foil packets left! Seems like you've got to be bloody quick around here.
  13. Thanks for the feedback, I will take it on board. I guess local LEGO news is the main area I'm lacking in, as I'm based in Sydney, so any news or info from other states and towns would be awesome. Just drop me a line if you're interested. But more importantly - MINIFIGS! Has anyone seen them at a non-Toyworld location? I checked Target, K-Mart and Toys R Us today, no luck. Could it be that Toyworld really do have an exclusive?
  14. Hey all, does anyone know if the Target sale ends tomorrow or 26 May? I'm sure it was originally the 26 May but on lasoo.com.au, it is now saying it ends tomorrow. Too early for any minifig bargains! Also I have heard that the Toyworld in Fyshwick, ACT, is selling the minifigs for $2.99 - seems pretty cheap. Final bit of info, I have started a LEGO Australian news blog which got featured on Brickset today, very exciting. It is still a work in progress but hoping it can get the stamp of approval from you guys as you are such a good source of Aussie news. If anyone wants to contribute just let me know. Any feedback or ideas are also most welcome! I am trying to get a LEGO store locator and a price comparison search up and running as well. The address is www.bricksdownunder.com Cheers
  15. Great news indeed about Target & minifigs. Maybe the 20% off sale will still be on then? It is going till the 26 May I think. Thanks for that.
