    Infuriating Details

Exposed blue axle pins or any off-color exposed connectors
  2. I think it's ducking fantastic, what's with the duck on the front bumper?
  3. Ah, brings back memories; both the looks and the sounds are quite authentic - as mentioned before, perhaps a sound brick to ring a bell at the end of the line would be a nice addition. Great review, Jim. For you young ones out there, the typewriter has no 'undo' feature, so we will need to MOC a bottle of white-out to go with this!
  4. Not something I can do, but would be great if TLG does hire an AFOL that can both respect TLG's requirements, deadlines, part usage, etc., and throw us Technic fans a bone once in a while (old parts in new colors, get rid of the blue pins, etc.).
  5. 549 - Not sure if I would have mentioned the Kenworth inspiration, as you may run into licensing issues.
  6. Supporter #1298, I'm just flushed with excitement for this, hope you make it to 10,000!
  7. Jim - Great questions and answers. More information can be gleaned by "reading between the lines". Make sure you let TLG know how much their time is appreciated!
  8. Can we get back to discussing 8009 now?
  9. If I would enter, I'd attempt a version of the 2003 Dodge Tomahawk, but after doing some research, turns out that the two wheels (front/back) are actually configured as independently sprung, albeit very closely spaced, four wheels - hence not a motorcycle. Well, its back to the (virtual) drawing board...

    [REVIEW] 75299 Trouble on Tatooine

What's up with Zabriskie Point? Anyway, nice review but the set could have included that overly handsome sheriff type guy and another Tuskan at more/less the same price point (maybe they are in the set, just lurking in the shadows?)
  11. Nice, looks like it almost has a personality! This is what Technic is all about!
  12. Sorry, I don't know iPhone products. Try setting the camera to manual mode and adjust the exposure compensation. Or, use more and brighter lights when taking the images.
  13. Looks cool in B/W - but your images are underexposed so hard to see the details in the dark and shadow areas - try rephotographing with longer exposure.
  14. This really looks great, given the size and part count, but (using fake Hulk voice) "tooooo maaaany stickers"

    PRESS RELEASE: 10276 – LEGO® Colosseum

Itaria - I can appreciate your impression as you have first hand knowledge with the real building. It would be helpful for those of us thinking about buying this set what your specific criticisms are - color? size? brick selection? other? I've seen the Colosseum once for maybe several hours, about 15 years ago, so I am not in a great position to make specific complaints.

Marilyn Monroe x Andy Warhol x LEGO

Very recognizable and very clever use of pieces - but, the mouth/tongue area is a bit odd.
  17. Minimalistic and brutalistic, works really well. but could use more chunky off-road style wheels. I like how it handles the 'pillow challenge,' I imagine most crawlers would get stuck on even one pillow. Well done!
  18. Clearly the 'dumb' battery box will be on LEGO.com at some point, as it is a useful component that many of us have been waiting for.
  19. Looks interesting and complex, but how about a video to show it in action?
  20. Let's not get carried away with the name calling

[MOC] Doof Wagon (Mad Max: Fury Road)

Excellent rendition, ride majestic to Valhalla!
  22. Finally may take the plunge into large Technic supercars this time, both my son and I are excited to build this. But, LEGO, why oh why visible blue pin ends???? First MOD is to figure out how many MSG (without friction) or black (with friction) axle/pin 2L and connector 3L are needed.
  23. Somewhat mind boggling what you accomplished. I too am surprised that everything works well without too much friction, but as you stated, once an output load is applied, then gears may start stalling. One application is to use as a device like a stroboscope to determine RPM of a motor, but somewhat difficult to see how that may be implemented.
  24. What, rotates around the vertical axis, but doesn't rotate about either horizontal axes ! Neat device, nice and compact, but what does it do? (Other than impress the Technic Forum )
  25. Well, some of us like the MB Arocs as its the perfect marriage of form and function, plus it PF and pneumatics, and some of us like the recent line of fancy sports cars including the upcoming Lambo, and still some of us like both! As an engineering and am more inclined to playing with the Arocs and admiring the Bugatti and friends sitting on my shelf.
