Hi & welcome. Gabon, that's definitely not a country you hear on these boards often... Can't even start to imagine growing up with only a single box of Lego. How is you Lego situation now? Interested in seeing your take on things.

The June - December 2016 catalog came out in June... Could only find the Australian online version though; https://catalogs.lego.com/BrandCatalog/BrandCatalogue2HY2016/aus/

I'd like to see some Classic Space inspired one, similar to the Pirates smiley's we already have. Or at least a Benny Smiley.

Ow wow, some how they bring back some memories. That's a neat idea! Though I would've used other backgrounds; Lego catalog inspired ones, similar to what they use(d). One I would hang up no matter what; Spaceman.

[MOC] Rockie - A rock guitarist that can move to the music!
-zenn replied to LegoJalex's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Haha, love it! His boots remind me of Gene Simmons's Kiss for some reason. Nice work on that Fender Stratocaster guitar btw. -
I'm liking your scaling method, at least it makes sense to me. Minifigs are indeed an awkward bunch of disproportioned tiny little fat people... Ow wow, come to think of it, yeah we probably do. I mostly tend to go for easthetics height wise though. Interesting, never known that before. Looking back at some vehicle sets on BL, does make some of them look 'weird' now...

I'm looking for 2 particular MOC's, but haven't had any luck finding them; - Both are collaborations of serveral builders with a cyberpunk/futuristic/dystopian city theme. - Google isn't my friend anymore... I keep finding the 2013 Cyberapocalypse build or the 2011 Cybercity build, which aren't it. The 1st one; - Found it; A Bus Stop In Bucharest. The 2nd one; - Isn't so recent as the 1st one, more around 08/09-ish, maybe even older? - Had a train/metro on the foreground with a road above it. - Hoverboarders on the side of the road on some sort of track. - Police vehicles + police figs occupying the road itself. - An overpass/bridge + a gang of 'Akira' styled bikers riding underneath it. - Had vehicles caught in a traffic jam. - Was hosted on an own server, no Flickr/MOCpages. - Was called 'City 17', 'Sector 7' or something similar to that. - Found it; Zero Hour on Highway 44. Please drop a comment if you happen to know what I'm talking about. Mod's you may close this thread/topic, if you feel like it.

[MOCs] Space station scenes - emotions of Commander Dave
-zenn replied to polarstein's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
First thing that popped into my mind; Lovely build, I'm loving the simplicity style of that corridor and mainframe system. -
I'm liking the overall design, those front cilinders (where the headlights connect) really give the body some nice round curves, and the turbines look, well like turbines. Though I wonder how it would look if you build the back similar. Colorwise I would go with one uniform body panel color, and highlight the metal parts with one color as well. The checkered pattern is a nice touch btw.

There are so many minifigs living in lego City... But where do they sleep!? I always wondered why TLG didn't consider a stackable add-on modular 'appartment block'; - a baseset; 1 appartment & doorway with stairway*. - add-on appartment & stairway sets; appartments & stairways* such as the gamerguy, crazy cat lady, smelly fat man, foreign family, etc. (or base the themes of of the Collectable Minifigs) - add-on rooftops; flat & simple, sloped & ornate, new york style with watertower or pigeoncase, swimmingpool condo, hunted attic, etc. - add-on balkonies & fire-escapes; several styles. *Or an elevator (x couple of elevator pieces in each set, by collecting sets you complete this bonus). Don't wanna take the stairs going up 13 floors... Do you!? "add additional sets, and see how high you can get!"

Micro Space Classics - Animated comedy sketches

Haha, this made my day! Love the oldschool background, with the train going past. Though I have one minor comment about the vid; The Space Police's Binary number, 0110101011 = 427. Too bad it isn't a secret easter egg linking to a set/minifig or something.- 3 replies

MOC Preview:Guys,i need some Advice for further designing/greebling
-zenn replied to badchriss's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Lol, I typed the word a-s-s, forum changed it to megablocks... But anyway, I feel honored to be an inspiration. The way I build it was pretty straightforward; like most of my cars start of with the same technice plate chassis, and make a car with wheels. Next take off the wheels and think of something so that it can hover. For that to work, the chassis had to modified, but had to be the same overall dimentions, it just happen to have X plate thickness clearance on the outside and 2 plate thickness clearance on the inside. So enough space to work with. The middle part of the chassis can be flipped upside down, so you can build in the oppsite direction if necessary. Than it was only a matter of building some thrusters, which I wanted angled, used a technique I use often for the cars engines, which was just the right dimensions to fit between the fenders. I have to admit it took a lot of work en reverse engineering to get that chassis to work the way it does now. But if you'd like, I can take some pic's and make a step-by-step instructions of the standard chassis and modded chassis, just pm me your email. I only have one requisite; that if you use it & post it online, you give proper credit (named hyperlink to Flickr account). At the moment, while I'm building another hover car, the chassis is done. Even more detailed than the version of that Hover Pickup Truck And I'm doing the overall bodywork; determining the height, flow, curves and stuff, cause I want minifigs to fit, but have to look visually pleasing at the same time. I've build it like 6 times already, but the sides seem too smooth/blend to me, it just needs to have more structure and thingamajigs. But at the same time I don't want it to be overkill. I almost seem to treat it like building an actual car... I'd also like to say, take a good look at that Dieselpunk Truck you made yourself, I love that thing and think you should use it as your base for your next build. I see some ways to do some improvements and add some more greebs; change the hovertech at the back a little to get some more angles in (hinge brick), making it fit a minifig, brickbuild fencing at the back. I think you should go for it! And some more inspirational artwork by Alejandro Burda; *click here*- 4 replies

Some advice, of what I usually do, take a look at some automotive (concept) art; simply use google, in this case, 'retro hover car artwork'. To get some ideas. But in this instance; Front orange section; a big megablocks fender, maybe with license plate. Middle orange section; exposed engine pipes, pointing outwards. Back orange section; I'd remove it for a smaller piece, and make those domes go one brick inward. Funnily enough, I'm also building a retroïsh hover car again, but I can't decide on the width; 6 wide or 8 wide, both have pro's and con's.- 4 replies

My 1500km road trip in the name of Lego . . . . some pics and commenta
-zenn replied to Breakdown's topic in Community
Wow, those abandoned roads/tunnels look like something straight out 'the walking dead'! Kewl, orange slamander thingy btw. Any excuse to get Lego, is a good excuse... Even if it might be 1500KM.- 20 replies

If I'm not mistaken on this boards it is as follows; embedded video's only work when using unprotected (http), if you use protected (https) embedded video's don't work. Though the video's on that topic technicbear posted work just fine for me.

Welcome & enjoy the boards!

Nice idea, would be kewl if it could float on actual water, maybe with one of those oldschool hulls and use the Technic Pneumatic system to spray water...
-
From what I can see from a google search the average base is 12x12, and the height is 20 plates (without the basebrick).

Leptigen, almost sounds like a city of Denmark...
