The Baritones Discussion Thread
Norrington replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
hmmm... I have to say that found the mayor's death... dissapointing. You know, I never though that those pistols attached to 1x2's in the Indy river chase set were gas tanks. -
The new soldiers, what shall I do with them?
Norrington replied to Bonaparte's topic in LEGO Pirates
AS has been suggested, just army build with them. Mabe make them a specialized regiment in your army, but nothing to major. If they make a blue fig, I hope it's blue with red facings, as that would be perfect for specilized units in my redcoat army (when it's built, anyway.) -
Funny, because in all seriousness, Disney's two most well known films with a nautical Motif were both live action. Treasure Island (1950) Treasure Island had a sequel film to, something about returning to the island for the treasure. 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (1954). Although since Disney used anthros lot, I suppose. Walt actually prefered live action once his studio became one of the higher ups.

You really know too much about this, for someone who thinks its sick, eh? I'm not sure why everyone says this is like Disney. Sure, Disney primarily does animated features, but they are most well known for the themeparks now, which feature things like the Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Carribean. Besides, Disney's most iconic and fairly well known film isn't animated. And it starred Kirk Douglas. Anyways: that turtle is cute I was expecting and old, grey and sand green turtle, you know. That sheepis quite an innovative design. How fragile is it?

I think (since I only have about 20 some of the old color) these are going to be my army. Of course, you could get Sean Bean to take them over the hills and far away. -
This is great! The variety of green plates to make leaves is impressive, and I like the rocks and sea form. The trans-blue plates in the wavy pattern is great too! Break out the Swisskapolka!
-
Oh, that's great! I really like that last shot.

I did, but I was being silly.

\Has fox McCloud gone to court, been found guilty for endangering the lives of the Subjects of the King of England, and therafter escaped from jail? Please enlighten me, what are furries? I'm not sure what they are, and I'm sure a google search would yield something like that "Rough gay wolf sex" joke ad from a while back.

If it's only period scenes, then you wouldn't be allowed to use real LEGO pirates, would you? How many pirates had eyepatches, hooks, or peglegs (AT THE SAME TIME!)?
-
What New Themes or Sets would you like TLG to make?
Norrington replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Steampunk. As far as I know, the Jules Verne Extraordinary Voayages are in the public domain. So there's a start. -
Umm... Some kind of turtle, maybe. With a beard, too.

Never said he wasn't wearing pants, I just said it looked like he's wearing a speedo.

CONTEST: Pillage the Village - Terms & Conditions
Norrington replied to Mister Phes's topic in Pirate MOCs
Sorry. I've got what I'm doing sorted out, but I'm assuming cotton goes in the "Non-Lego, Non-Custom Sails + Rigging" = Not allowed category. -
Yeah, I know. But like I said, the main exception is the most anthropomorphized animal ever. He drives motorcars for Pete's sake! Now that is an interesting design for the dog. I'm not sure about the Speedo, though. I think that the brown bits on the Octopus should be black, but of course as it's anthropomorphized, it's clothing too, no? EDIT: Just saw Maiq's post. I hope you are aware this is J. Thaddeus Toad, Esq. from Kenneth Grhame's The Wind in the Willows: Tally ho! BTW, did you get that "Needlessly Creepy times 17" thing from Homestar Runner's SBemail? I thought I was the only one here who watched that.

CONTEST: Pillage the Village - Terms & Conditions
Norrington replied to Mister Phes's topic in Pirate MOCs
So, would ship-to-ship engagments be acceptable? Another Question: Would a small ship about... 24 studs long and 6 studs wide qaulify for the small or medium categories? And would a small amount of cotton be acceptable to simulate gun smoke? -
You sound more like a Hans or Dieter than a Tom to me.

I think this is great! It's a very creative use of parts. The palm tree stalks for docks. I think the green on the bottom, as a representation of algae and seaweed and the like. I like the great pun on the title, and I'm not usually one for puns. The TV is a bit big, but so were the TV's in the 70's.
-
I can't say I much care for anthropomorphized animals (save a certain J. Thaddeus Toad, Esq. and his riverbank friends), but this is quite an innovative design. The use of rubberbands for pantaloons is quite inventive. I hope to see you in the Piate forum more often, what-with the new theme and MOCing oppurtunities.
-
Well, if it wouldn't be to much trouble, I don't have my Sig-fig with me, but if you had the parts it might be fine. Something like this: Here's the sig fig I've previously used, though (w/ empulettes): With a backround to the effect of: With my sig-fig standing in front of rocks with the battle going on behind him, and edited to look like an oil painting. Thanks. EDIT: Real-life example of this style of portrait:

For ships: Can they be Imperial? Can they be standalone? -
Hillarious! That same thought came into my mind. Maybe since the closure scare, they became more lax on that.
-
Ah, very good. I was unaware that the lights on the house went on! It's a great set, and it would be a huge mistake by LEGO if there was no mainstream-release. Besides, doesn't LEGO wanna teach every child about the wonders of alternative and responsible energy? I wanna hydroelectric dam!

They're not all that great. They both come wit soldiers, and the first one has fortress walls. However, they are going to be overpriced, I know it. IS the second on floating? It doesn't look like it was edited, and I can see a pool side quite clearly. I remember that baseplates float, but not with stuff on them.
