[MOD] 42029 Customised Pick-Up Truck - MODs and Improvements

Recommended Posts

Hi

The AWD is finished, Im working on the gearbox right now.

I did try to put a 1x6 plate under the steering rack but there is no such gear that is small enough to then fit in the hole and mesh with the gear rack.

I'm using a 5l Steering rack, shame it didnt work as the geomotiry would have been close to perfect but the steering arms are almost at the same angle to The suspention arms anyhow.

The gearbox has 4 hi and 4 lo speeds and is extremley small (3Lx5Lx7L) but fitting it in and bracing it is very tricky .

Regards, Snipe

Pics please

Here is comparison with different tire types

Thanks ZUX, I kinda knew that had been posted - I agree the 9398 balloon tires look better, but I only have 4, and they are attached to my 41999, so I am going with the Unimog's instead.

Hi

Here is the current state of the truck, the biggest problem is fitting the gearbox in, every beam so far is long ways but to get the gearbox in beams will now have to be placed width ways.

In the gearbox where the white 3L axle joiner with pinhole is is where the second gear shifting ring should be.

dropbox wont let me embed images here but the link below should work.

Nice, now you just need custom rc tires!

Thanks Nalyd997. A set of rc tires are on my list of things to get, just got to figure out which ones.

Doublepost but those fenders were so horrified that I must made them better:

I added also more lights (cabin roof top) and light change to headlights.

Triplepost but I bought third one of this set and this time it was yoshinydesign's jeep that I build. http://yoshinydesign...jeep-i-use.html

I think it's quite nice mod:

OjflTsj.jpg

I did little own mods for it...

V6 intake mod:

bYiOhRq.jpg

Tilting window (like in those army Jeeps) and tiny headlight mod:

Side exhaust:

Spare tire:

So I have already 3 sets of this 42029; one for part donor and two mods to display... Maybe some other set next time

Finally, two different same brothers:

PS. Thanks to Yoshiny for his great C model
