Simpsons 2015 Rumors and Discussion

Recommended Posts

I can see them doing Krusty Burger and the school before Android's. Maybe the school would be the front half like most of the Friends sets? Surely, there's no chance they'd do a casino or Moe's.

I'd buy Homer's car, it's hilarious! It would be nice if they'd do a few smaller sets. The backyard treehouse, for instance.

Unfortunately for you, the rumor has already stated Android's for 2016 before any of the ones you suggested

The "rumor"

Like the rumor that the Kwik E Mart was not going ahead as planned

And the rumor that there would be some smaller sets?

And the rumor that the Kwik-E-Mart and Krusty Burger stores were going to be in a set together.......back in 2013 when the theme was first announced by Lego.

If you want to generalize like that then you can count the fact that every D2C set was a rumor.

Isn't it too early for reliable rumors? :shrug_oh_well: Kwik-E is almost out but if another release isn't until next year it seems too early to have much info. I'd like Androids if it was released, I just find it odd that people mention Moe's as a possibility. I'm more eager to hear about the next modular and that should be out in the fall and as far as I know, there's only guesses for now.

The Android's Dungeon rumor came out in January 2015, and already had the price for the set... a 2016 D2C set... so honestly, I haven't believed that. I'm not sure the person who contacted Groovebricks was fibbing or not, but seems like it was the former.

Or the rumor that we were getting the Kwik E Mart that came to be true

The designer video is out! :classic:

It's a shame they didn't include a box of Mr Sparkle

I suppose the issue of doing a Springfield Elementary would be the size of the building, and the number of minifigures needed. You would need at least Skinner's Office and the Krabappel's classroom definitely, and quite likely Hoover's classroom, and possibly the lunchroom, the music room would be a stretch (maybe laid out from left to right as lunchroom, Skinner, Krabappel, Hoover, or lunchroom, Krabappel, Hoover on the ground floor and Skinner's office upstairs), then you would need many more minifigures, including many new ones (Skinner, Hoover, maybe Dorris for starters, then a selection of kids to fill out the classes such as the twins, bullies, etc).

I guess more plausible would be sets based on smaller buildings with one or two room interiors that would require few new minifigure molds like the Kwik E Mart. Off the top my head, there is the Android's Dungeon (with a new kid), the Krusty Burger or Aztec Theater with the Squeaky Voiced Teen, or at a stretch, the town hall with Quimby and the Jebidiah Springfield statue.

I finally found out from wich episode Homer and Marge from series 2 came from. It was the last episode of season 1 called Some Enchanted Evening. Homer did in fact wear the same pants as he does in lego form now, even marge fancy dress looks the same. The items they have with them are also from the episode, Homer bought flowers and chocolat for Marge after she was angry with him and said so on the radio. They went after this a night out in this costumes. Their figures are in fact actually one big easter egg. Or did you guys allready know this?

A little fact, the episode was used to be the first simpsons episode of season 1, but their was something wrong with the workprint so it had to be done over again. The series got delayed and because they couldn't send a christmas episode out after christmas, this became the first episode shown.

Here do you see them:

Because the Kwik-E Mart set is based on 7-Eleven stores in America.

But it would had been a nice touch. They even included Bonestorm, despite that Bart gets it at the Try-N-Save store, not the Kwik-E Mart

the town hall with Quimby and the Jebidiah Springfield statue.

The town hall with Jebidiah Springfield statue is a great idea for a set, but without a bear on a statue where Jebidiah stepped on it to avoid any possible references to animal cruelty.

Y'Know, if the take on the Simpsons, they shouldn't try to hide themes so badly.

Anyone who'd buy the set knows there is a bar, fur etc. Etc.

They can't release a full bar, obviously, but they can release Moe.

But I thought that historians now believe the bear most likely killed him?

EDIT: I honestly never even noticed the bear in the statue after watching the show all these years, always thought it was a rock. Would have thought the stance would be difficult replicate anyway.

I can see a reason not to try and produce a set for Moe's bar, there has been quite a few taverns produced in the castle theme plus LOTR and the PR modular in a way is a wine bar ?

Seriously if Lego added a Krusty Burger and Moe's bar......I would buy them with the Kwik-E-Mart......even if it meant my wife booting me out !

No necessarily. Springfield Elementary could have Bart's classroom, Lisa's classroom, Skinner office, the lunchroom and maybe the auditorium.

The size would be somewhat similar to The Simpsons House
