Narbilu and the Rogue Squadron

Corporation Kawashita Group

Occupation Explorer

Characteristics Navigator, pilot, tactic, diplomat

Specialties Single hand weapons, flying, leadership

Back story

Narbilu found himself in prison last summer, after a long time of trading with some questionable black market dealers he was caught red handed. Fortunately for him, the counsel ruled that he would get a probation. Lack of evidence for any prior misdemeanours. They just couldn’t convict him on a single charge. A slap on the wrist basically. Still he was assigned to a parole officer, called Brazer, he should report to.

Brazer actually worked undercover for the Kawashita Group as a recruiter. The KG was looking for an explorer, a pilot who didn’t care about bending the rules a bit, one with enough courage to take solo missions and knew what to do in harsh situations. After a month of tracking and observing, Brazer nominated Narbilu to be the one most suitable for the job.

Narbilu has a number of skills which matches with the profile set by KG. Excellent flying capabilities, experience with small and medium ships, the ability to learn languages and the guts to dive into questionable, maybe even dangerous, situations. No questions asked. Shady character. A perfect scout, the only thing that Brazer recommended was to assign a co-pilot, with scientific knowledge to the team to make up for the few gaps in his know-how.

Kawashita Group acknowledged Narbilu and the recommendations of Brazer. The team is assembled, Narbilu for his keen eye and summary of other skills. Fey, another of Brazers projects, is assigned to pilot Narbilu around. Her female presence will maybe keep Narbilu in tune and she will report to her KG superior. Brazer will tag along for the journey, but he will stay at the KG headquarters, on the planet they will settle. The team was assigned a vessel, called The Collision and some resources to aid them on their first few missions.

Narbilu was pleased to get off this planet, to explore new possibilities. He was packed and ready in time to depart together with the KG fleet. The only thing bothering him was the constant reporting to his parole officer. That will pass in time, he figures. First things first.

Now Maian 3815, the Collision flies through the GATE, orbiting a planet called Orinshi. Narbilu named his task force The Rogue Squadron, based on the nature of their past. His promise to himself is to climb the Kawashita ladder, to become head of a department or squadron and gain some form of influence in the corporation. But first... start exploring.

There is no mechanism, but if everyone continues to join Kawashita, we'll have to take action :classic:

One will always be the bigger corp. Its not a question of largest number, but the best builds.

Still I expect great things of Kawashita Group...

Just to check... Everyone knows that you can choose a player name different from your EB account name?

No I didn't know, but I'll stick with my current character name, it's surprisingly hard to think up Sci fi names...

Also, it would be great if someone could knock up a sig generator.

So I have a quick question. With the one build a week rule, could we do one faction build and one alien build a week, which would end up being two per week. Or do we have to pick one to do each week?

You can either choose to do an alien or a corp build a week. Save up the other for when you have no time to build one week.

Alright cool, thanks for the quick answer.

And on that note I think I will be committing for The Kawashiwa Group as a pilot.

Character name and sigfig to come later.

That is not necessary... Some just have a shady background :)

As your sigfig, just add them later

Ooooh! Melikey! Looks like I got back just in time! :devil:The Insectoid Empire will rise!

So! Questions:

1. Are there rules for NPCs? Say I create an Octan scientist, and I want to give her a love-interest from MANTIS. Would that be allowed?

2. Are there other factions in this world? Like non-affiliated pirates or mercenaries or double agents? I don't personally want to play such a charcter, I just want to know incase I think of a scenario for a MOC that would benefit from the presence of such factions.

3. For Aliens... Since there aren't any mocs, Alien or otherwise, at the moment, it makes sense that there are no rules to govern that, but I imagine after a while, that world's could get crouded and people will try to use the same pieces represent different aliens, so at some point will that be governed in the rules?

THANKS! I hope to make a character tonight!

1. Good question, I think that your character may have crossed any other corporations in her life on our home planet at one time.

2. It might happen in the future, but only the three corps and the alien intervention for now. Corps may send their special forces to conduct piracy acts etc of course.

3. For alien builds are little rules, especially how they should look. We will see what happens the next few months.

This looks great, I will definitely sign up although I won't be active until the GoH challenges wind down

One thing that's putting me off is the corporate colours. Black is a nightmare to photograph, so is white, and I simply don't have much dark bley. How strictly do we have to adhere to these color codes?

Are we going to get private PM channels for each faction so we can put together our super secret strategies?

For the colors of the corporation they do need to be used in every build. M.A.N.T.I.S. accents can be green or olive green with lime green.

You could do a lot of planetary or interior builds, without large dark surfaces. As long as it is clear for which corp you build

I was looking at this earlier and I'm excited to actually post something here!

I was looking at the factions and saw the Kawashita "classes". Does being a Cyborg count as a class or is it a race? I'm thinking a cyborg explorer would be cool but I'd like to make sure. Also, why isn't there a sort of Soldier or Marine class for Kawashita as well? Soldiers like this would be perfect for Kawashita!

Also, if I wanted to join a faction, would I have to upload a picture or could I use a default one as a temporary? I don't think I'll be able to get my actual character I plan to use up until sometime this summer, I'm thinking July, but I really want to participate. Also, is have a brick-built robot character acceptable or would I have to actually use a minifigure?

The default avatars in each corps' thread are only examples. Every jobs are available to any corps. I left the cyborg there because it looked cool, but it's not a job.

We are corporations, so we don't have military forces... But we need to secure our resources, with guards and security forces :look:

You can use one of the default avatar and change it later. Your avatar should be a minifigure.

this is beyond awesome! Kudos to all organizers of the game, it look like it was a lot of work to set up everything, but it looks great!

I'm also a little worried about the color scheme requirements, i hope there will be some tolerance on it.

I'll surely enter the game, i hope to have some time this weekend! even if i'll not be much active i guess.

When joining a corporation, a player will have to choose a job in the list:

  • Pilot - Specialists of flying machines, pilots are at ease both in atmosphere and in space. (Build a spacecrafts or aircrafts)
  • Driver - Moving on planet surfaces require skillfull drivers. (Build a land vehicles)
  • Explorer - Making the first steps on unknown planets, explorers are able to deal with flora, fauna or inhabitant of all kinds. (Build must feature flora, fauna, or an alien first encounter)
