It seems a bit cliche, but Hoke discreetly checks the torches to see if they may trigger a hidden passageway.

"Just two. Are the statue and the fez* both supposed to be there, and could you possibly give us a map of the house and grounds?"

14530829275_1231b5d50f_o.jpg

"Yes, they're both where they should be. I'm ashamed to admit it, but stuff from the storage room is bleeding into the cellar. That fez was actually my husbands. I have no use for it any more, so take it if like."

"I'll second the request for a map. On the off chance Lupine isn't after your wine, what other valuables do you have that he might be after? A list would be most helpful."

Sally ponders for a moment, thinking over some things.

14530829275_1231b5d50f_o.jpg

"Gods... I'd say there's at least one valuable object in each of the rooms of this manor. My husband's family had a hoarder's personality."

Pulling out the Magnifying Glass he had just picked up, Thormanil checks the area for traps, especially the ceiling.

Taking extra precaution of the ceiling, the only thing Thormanil can find are cobwebs and dust bunnies.

"Do you have any resources available for our us on this job? Also, as asked before, a map."

14530829275_1231b5d50f_o.jpg

"I ask you not to touch anything in the trophy room, since it's filled with antique weapons and armour, but there's certain to be something in the kitchen that could potentially help. Help yourself to anything in there."

It seems a bit cliche, but Hoke discreetly checks the torches to see if they may trigger a hidden passageway.

Checking the torches, Hoke fiddles with them, trying to find a potential hidden passageway. However, he accidentally snaps one of the torches he was inspecting!

14530829275_1231b5d50f_o.jpg

"Find something, sir?"

Guts inspects the labels, corks and bottles of the wine.

Looking over some of the wine, Guts can see dates going back to one hundred and fifty years ago. Newer bottles seem to have the Shadeux logo stamped near the bottom and on the cork, while older ones seem to be in a variety of different shapes in terms of the bottle.

14530829275_1231b5d50f_o.jpg

"My husband's family enjoyed experimenting with different bottles, and of course as time progressed, the ability to create better labels increased."

QM Note: You'll get your map tomorrow, guys! Sorry for the delay, I've got some last minute things to prepare!

Arthur examines the statue with his Magnifying glass for any distinctive figures, then does the same for the wine collection, making a list of each bottle with their names, bottle shape, bottle color, year, presence or absence of the Shadeaux insignia, and any other significant information about them. If someone took a bottle from the place, he would know.

"You wouldn't happen to have a list of these valuable items, would you?"

"Is that anything else you can tell us or think would be important for us to know?"

After the lady finishes addressing the group and leaves with her bodyguard. Hoke's curiosity gets the best of him and he ventures into the kitchens for whatever was useful and makes his way to the trophy room, just for a look.

QM Note: For the sake of the quest's mechanics, I'm going to have you stop at the kitchen first, and then you can make your way to the trophy room afterwards.

It also appears I forgot to photograph the kitchen. I'll remedy that shortly.

Hoke, wanting to look around, ditches the party and heads to the upstairs kitchen, eventually finding it on the first floor. Scouring the place, he eventually finds a few food items that look both beneficial, but also delicious, and nutritious!

heroica-banana.jpgBanana – Restores full health when eaten.

heroica-cherries.jpgBunch of Cherries – A bunch of 10 cherries that each restore 1 ether when eaten; it is up to the user to choose how many they eat at a time.

heroica-tastypretzel_zpsee7c798d.jpg Tasty Pretzel- 1/3 chance each of granting lucky, hastened, and encouraged effects upon consumption.

"If you're certain about having no more use for it, then perhaps I will take it. I promise that my wearing of it will not shine any foul notes on the memory of the one who last wore it."

Lind reaches up and grabs the fez, putting it in his inventory for safe keeping.

Akrone Fez (Artefact; SP: 1, Max. Health: +1, Headwear)

14530829275_1231b5d50f_o.jpg

"I don't think you'll be able to wear the fez and that medal of yours, but it suits you."

Arthur searches the statue with his handy dandy magnifying glass, taking note that of it's regal appearance. It depicts a young, male angel.

Looking through the collection, Arthur notes that the bottles appear to be sorted by age, and that older, less conveniently shaped, but much nicer looking bottles are near the bottom, and newer, more typical looking bottles line the top shelf. The Shadeux emblem appears on newer bottles, starting no longer than four years ago.

"No, I don't, but just about every room has something of valuable, sometimes more than one item at that. The library has plenty of valuable-"

"Will you hurry up! We need to get moving, now!"

14530829275_1231b5d50f_o.jpg

"Seems I'm going to have to cut this short. Sorry, gentlemen. Here, take this map with you. You'll find it useful."

She hands them a folded piece of parchment from her pocket.

14728818345_244f1719d5.jpg

14530829275_1231b5d50f_o.jpg

'I'll be back tomorrow morning. Hopefully everything will-"

"I haven't got all day, Sally, and neither do you!"

14530829275_1231b5d50f_o.jpg

"Ugh, I'm coming! Give me a second, Perin!"

She lowers her head and covers it with her face, looking unimpressed.

14530829275_1231b5d50f_o.jpg

"We're going to have to cut this short. Nightfall won't be for a little while, so I'd suggest looking around the manor so you know where you're going. See you tomorrow, heroes, and best of luck. For all our sakes."

With those words, Sally departs from the cellar and up the winding stairs. The party can hear the front doors close from upstairs as quietness fills manor. The party would need to make some key decisions while alone in the manor...

but for how long would the solitude stay?

You guys can look around the manor without any repercussions at the moment. Simply bold were you want to go. Note however that eventually you will have to plan out your rounds of the building. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. You guys are in the cellar, and exiting the cellar will lead you to the foyer on the first floor.

By the way,

:classic:

QM Note: I'm going to wait a few more hours to see if John Paul speaks up. if not, he'll be going with the the individuals going to the armoury.

There's a reason I'm letting you guys explore yourselves. It'll make sense soon.

Meaning that there's someone waiting for us...or something. Oh boy. Suddenly, going alone does not seem like the best idea...

What rooms can people hear each other from? If I'm say, standing in the parlor, and Arnold is attacked in the Library, can I hear him, for example?

Also, Lind makes a mental note to specifically search the Master and Spare Bedrooms for any useful garments to temporarily borrow - capes, hats, etc.

"I suggest that we each investigate the rest of the house for a few moments so we associate with its layout in our own personal manner, and we then meet again in the foyer for a more organized search."

Lind decided that he would exit the cellar, investigate the parlour for anything useful, and then go upstairs to the Master Bedroom and search that. After that, he would search the Library, then the Bathing Room, and finally the Spare Bedroom.

Arthur heads straight for the Library.

Heading for the Library, Arthur opens the door and finds a cozy room with bookshelves lining the place. A plush armchair and a wooden table sit near the back, accompanied by a large globe. A fire place rests away from the bookshelves.

QM Note: I've got to finish photographing the library, so you'll get an image tomorrow.

Guts heads to the Trophy Room.

Also heading upstairs, Guts heads for the Trophy room, and upon opening the doors is introduced to a modest collection of items and weapons.

A glistening silver blade rests near the back, it's gleam reflecting the embers of the fireplace. The items looked incredibly valuable.

After exploring the kitchen, Hoke heads methodically scrutinizes the remaining rooms.

Alexandre nods his understanding and goes to the Sun Room.

Alexandre heads directly to the Sun Room, and while Hoke looks around the place, he runs into the Black Knight there. The room's humidity blasts the duo as they walk in.

Looks great to me, except that the Frozen Saber is supposed to be labeled as borrowed - probably my fault, though, I should have labeled it better.

Making his way upstairs, he first visits the Master Bedroom. Creaking open the door, Lind steps inside, only to hear heavy breathing behind him....

Lind, hearing the breathing, spins around to see the source. While he does so, he draws the Frozen Saber Hoke lent him. He also draws a deep breath so as to be able to call and alert his companions if he is facing an enemy.

Ooc: Is the bit about breathing behind me correct? Did I miss it whatever it was as I walked down the hallway?

I'm also assuming, that (if this is a battle,) since I'm alone(at least for the first round), I should draw the Saber, since I need to do all the damage possible with my first attack, rather than my Ethereal Deck. Of course, if this is a boss equal to the rest of the party, then my first battle choice should probably be Flee...
