AVCampos Posted May 27, 2014 A Blacktron 2 squad is attacking this outpost belonging to the M:Tron Corporation! The base's crane and AT Loader had begun loading LR Carrier... ... when CRASH! Marauder Mech tears down the gate and points its weapons at the petrified worker, while his colleagues run for their lives! While the jetpack-equipped soldiers jump over the fence, Artillery Mech moves into position to provide support to the attack. [/url] At a distance, Comms Intercept Trike coordinates the attack. Indifferent to all this commotion, M:Cat only thinks about the next space sardines meal... Besides this MOC's "diorama" factor, I tried to give it some "playability": there must always be some Technic in what I do! The three mechs (AT Loader, Marauder Mech and Artillery Mech) are poseable, AT Loader having a mechanism to raise its crane. The base's crane pivots and has mechanisms to raise it to catch magnetic containers. LR Carrier has steering on 4 of its 6 wheels, and the cockpit turns into a ship for emergencies. Comms Intercept Trike has functioning steering from the side "antennae". Finally, here's an aerial panorama of the attack: (note: the photos have this background because they were taken during BRInCKa 2014, my LUG's large event) Comments & Criticisms? Captain Settle Posted May 28, 2014 This is awesome! I love space bases, and when you combine it with mechs, action and two of my favorite themes, it becomes amazing!
woofmcmoose Posted May 29, 2014 Nice. I particularly like the Blacktron artillery walker with its classic octagonal cockpit. The other blacktron mech is also cool but is a little more neo-classic with all the curved slopes. The M-tron walker has a brilliant utility look to it. My favourite bit has to be m-cat though; made me LOL.
-Horizon- Posted May 29, 2014 Awesome Base! I always liked the old space sets, and this diorama fits in perfectly in with them. Great Job! My favorite part has to be the M-Tron Mech.
AVCampos Posted May 29, 2014 Thanks all! Actually, the layout began with just AT Loader which I cobbled together from Exo-Force parts and some other stuff. Then I built LR Carrier to have something for AT Loader to, well, load. Then I saw 70500, fell in love with its elegance achieved with few elements, and bought a copy to modify into something to spicen up the M:Tronians' life. the base and the rest of the vehicles came in a "the hell with it, I'll make a full scene" moment. ;) As for M:Cat, when I saw , I couldn't wait to try if that was physically possible. LegoMathijs Posted May 31, 2014 Nice work! The vehicles and mecha's are my favorite elements of this moc. Well done!
AVCampos Posted June 12, 2014 Here is a video I made glancing over the layout and showing more detail on the vehicles:
AVCampos Posted March 29, 2017 (edited) The layout has been expanded a bit... While Gorilla Loader tries to sneak out without beeing seen, M:Defender runs to try help repelling the Blacktron Squad attack. Baryon Flux Generator (some people just call it "BFG" for some reason) has stationed outside the base and is charging its massive weapon to disable any M:Tron Corporation electronics. The Blacktrons made some prisoners, who are embarked on Flytrap Transporter. Scout Buggy has discovered a crystal miner who is noticing nothing... Here are photos of the whole imbroglio! Edited March 29, 2017 by AVCampos Forgot to add info about the BFG
ikba Posted April 1, 2017 Nice work! I love the use of the metru-nui lids as the rear wheel on the trike
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted April 4, 2017 Great video about your amazing vehicles! ...but my favorite character is the cat ...how can he eats the meal with the helmet on?

Trekkie99 Posted May 25, 2017 (edited) Awesome MOC dude!!! I love Mtron and Blacktron!!! I would love if we could get a reboot for these two themes..... Edited May 25, 2017 by LegoMonorailFan
ExcelsiorUK Posted May 25, 2017 It's incredible what you can pull together with a really big collection. Those old grey base plates take me right back to my fledgling building days! Modern day kids are so lucky to have the parts they have now! If these models still exist, perhaps you could do some stop-motion video with them, or turn it into a comic book or something? It's a great project.
AVCampos Posted January 5, 2018 I made another expansion to the diorama for Paredes de Coura Fan Weekend 2017. I expanded the whole area, rebuilt the entire M Corporation base, and created a few more M:Tron and Blacktron 2 vehicles to add to the commotion. Here are photos of it, full versions at its MOCpages page:
