RichardGoring Posted January 13, 2023 Is that a new clock print on the 1x1 round tile, next to the candle? Just considering the size, this is about as tall as the Brick Bank modular, so might feel a bit small compared to the modulars, but pretty huge for an A-frame cabin in the woods. The Ideas treehouse will tower over it though, so it should work nicely with that.
Polarlicht Posted January 13, 2023 I think there is a small "treehouse" build inside the bedroom.
RichardGoring Posted January 13, 2023 (edited) Right, who's up for a watch party of this TWO HOUR video of the A-frame cabin? I note, with some distress, that the forest trees not included in the set are much denser and more like the original submission. Which is just mean at this point! 16 minutes ago, Polarlicht said: I think there is a small "treehouse" build inside the bedroom. Oh yes, there is! That's amazing! Ha ha! Polarlicht Posted January 13, 2023 Also just noticed the dark red tile with "LEGO" printed on it, as a door mat. Used in the farmtruck before

Yeah, was waiting to see if someone else noticed, there’s also a typewriter in the set, I mean, next year is the 10th anniversary of ideas (after it was called cussoo) also, one of the minifigs uses ollys hair from 2023 Lego friends Edited January 14, 2023 by Lemerbrix

lifeinplastic Posted January 15, 2023 I really love this new cabin set and gives me something to look forward to during January and enjoy in February, which are my least favourite months. It reminds me a lot of Rocky River Retreat set 6552 - I also had 6665 River Runners, which I think worked well together. Would love many more of this type of set and would buy a new one every year (e.g. an annual update to the forest/great outdoors, like the Winter Village or Lunar New Year sets). One thing Lego doesn't do particularly well in my opinion is trees. The trees in this set aren't bad, but mainly because of the varied autumnal coloured leaves. However, it would be good to have more variation and some actual pine trees like in the original Ideas design. p.s. Thanks for the link @Aanchir
Merlo Posted February 1, 2023 I have the same take on the cabin as I do on most Lego sets: the idea was stunning. I would be crazy not to instabuy that. The final product is... fine, I guess? I'm definitely not buying it, but I'd be happy if I was gifted one. It's perfectly understandable why they chose to omit some things, I would do the same in their place. And of course, they had bigger limitations on some other things. But those two aside, that still leaves stuff that is just... bad. Like, bad design choices that make the final product look like the work of a vastly inferior designer. Also, one random thing I noticed buying non-Lego bricks is that they can make any possible brick in any possible color for any set. And yet Lego designers can't even pick from existing bricks and colors to make a set that is more than adequately aesthetically pleasing.
Stefx1717 Posted February 1, 2023 (edited) Hi everyone this is the first Ideas project we have created: Castle Wall & (half) Chess Board! Please help support it by voting with the link below:https://ideas.lego.com/projects/0accf7c1-348a-4b73-9ca6-584b7b8952b3 This castle wall can be transformed into a (half) chess board by moving the checkered base from bottom to upwards. The (ambitious) idea is to have one set per faction (Lions, Falcons, Forestman and Wolfpack), so you can complete the chessboard with 2 different sets and challenge your friends for a chess battle. Furthermore, the aim is to provide more 16 minifigures (including the "missing" Lions's king) to increase playability and fun for those who own other castle sets like the 10305 or similar. Thank you for your help 🙂 Edited February 1, 2023 by Stefx1717

Awesome.

While I like the idea personally, it always baffles me how many entries to Ideas don't fit the basic rules. They won't accept ideas for a series of sets ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ You could make 10k and the €500 voucher, but no way it makes the next stage as it breaks one of the basic rules. Lion King Posted October 8, 2023 Out of curiosity, i saw numerous Modular Buiding ideas across the IDEAS website. I noticed that Lego had to turn those modular ideas down due to various reasons. I think Lego “borrows” their ideas for next offical Modular Building sets. For example, the natural history museum idea was turned down years ago and now we will e Natural History Museum coming up in 2024.
Yperio_Bricks Posted October 8, 2023 Would not be the first "coincidence" between rejected ideas and official sets Let's see how the Natural History Museum turns out and if it looks like any of the former ideas submissions.
tafkatb Posted October 8, 2023 I don't think that accusation holds any water. Almost none of the modular buildings I've seen on Ideas are ever truly original ideas. Frequently well-executed, yes, but "Modular Museum" or "Modular Police Station" or "Modular [insert any building type that is prevalent in pretty much any city]" isn't going to make LEGO designers suddenly say

The issue with this kind of conspiracy theory is that AFOLs have pretty much made every possible subject for modular buildings under the sun. So when Lego announces their next modular building, it shouldn't be surprising that a fan model has done it in the past. It honestly gets a little tiring. Black Falcon Posted October 8, 2023 17 minutes ago, Lion King said: Ah ok. It just bothers me that Review Bord turn several modular ideas while making thier own sets. Well, it was always very unlikely they would make a modular building in ideas. It is a theme Lego already has themselfes. Same as I don´t think pirates, space and castle will have chances on ideas now, since lego is making sets for them now again.

I meant that we can still probably see at least some things from the Classic Trio on Ideas, if only through Target or BrickLink programmes (one of the recently-approved BDP sets is a pirate cove hideout). Lion King Posted October 9, 2023 I agre with Classic_Spaceman that Viking did say hi. I actually consider Viking as “classic”. We have seen Mediveal Creator 3in1 sets, such as Viking Ship, Space Shuttle, Medivedal Castle and Pirate Ship. Adventurers feel classic to me. Sure, Castle, Pirates and Space are The Big Three within Lego but there are so many non-licensed themes that we consider them as “classic’ or “retro”
