hey everyone, I just checked the LEGO ideas content guidelines, and it has changed since the last time I looked at it. The main thing I notice is that I no longer see the ban on projects relating to current LEGO licenses, am I just glancing over wherever it is, or did they remove it?

never mind guys, I found it. the clause just wasn't in the section I thought it was going to be in. Darn! I was really getting hopeful there for a few minutes :)

Dang, check out this Technic RC Jeep by @Sariel, submitted just yesterday with 700+ supporters already! :oh3:

LEGO Ideas - RC 4x4 Jeep Wrangler Trailcat

Wow, that's seriously impressive. There are some great Ideas projects that have just been launched over the past few weeks, including this beautiful Piano project which is doing very well indeed!  https://ideas.lego.com/projects/a4e4413f-8488-4551-ac9d-9e7f8c35154e

Really pleased to say my project, The Old Workhorse - Traction Engine is on display at Birmingham NEC in the UK, for the next 3 days (9th-11th November) at "The Classic Motor Show".

The model is part of the FBHVC show stand. So if anyone is visiting The Motor Show over the weekend, you can see my model on display in Hall 5 right next to the Discovery Channel Live Stage. They have even set up a system where a member of the FBHVC can help visitors to vote for the model on the spot!

Here are some pictures of the display, I've been helping to set up at Birmingham NEC.

That piano is incredible.  I'm almost speechless...

Just wanted to let everyone know I have added another one of my MOC's to LEGO IDEAS! The model is called "Miniature Steam Machines". I had originally designed this as a little side project to my other IDEAS entry "The Old Workhorse", but the models have received some positive feedback online so I have decided to give them their own shot at LEGO IDEAS.

Supported!  Thanks for splitting these into their own project.  I know the full-size version is very well scaled to a minifig, but based on my own Lego habits I'd prefer to have these.  They would be much better for idly rolling about on a desk as I read a textbook or do homework, which is how I usually play with Lego.  Still, this project would be even better if, like Microfighters, it came with the same minifigs as the full-size version.  (I do hope the full-size version makes it all the way to 10K, though.  It's not only a nice model that would work well as an official set, but the presentation is impeccable.)

I really appreciate that. Thanks for supporting the new project and for your kind comments about both of my designs! :classic:

I'm speechless. I tried to submit a product idea based on the Cartoon Network show "Courage the Cowardly Dog" proposing Eustace Bagge's Truck in brickfigure scale, but LEGO Ideas considers Courage the Cowardly Dog an inappropriate IP for some bizarre reason. This is absurd! Courage the Cowardly Dog is supposed to be family-friendly, not explicit! :damn:

Meanwhile, a few months ago, some other user successfully submitted a Courage the Cowardly Dog project. Why can't I post my own?

https://ideas.lego.com/projects/4e949780-e591-4d26-885c-7aa8a3fa25aa (not my project, this was made by someone else)

Sorry for being angry, but I was just expressing my thoughts. I really wish LEGO Ideas would just let me submit my own Courage project.

We are almost a month away from the next deadline, and at this point there are only 2 (*oh2*!) projects qualified for the review

And from what I'm seeing, only 1 project has enough supporters to achieve the 10k milestone before the deadline. That would mean, the next review will be only for 3 projects

You never know. There have been a small handful of projects that rocketed to 10k in just two or three weeks, and one that got there in less than two days. Something could still surprise us tomorrow. But yeah, it’s certainly possible we’ll have a tiny batch of just two or three projects.

EDIT: Actually looking at it just now, I’m not seeing anything that’s qualified (i.e., nothing comes up under “Achieved Support”). What ones are you seeing?

What is the date for the next deadline then? It doesn't seem like five minutes since we had the last one.

I'm pretty sure The Food Stand Diners by @Frostbricks can get there, it only has a few hundred votes left to go.

Looks as if a new batch of 10K club interviews have just started to up as well. https://ideas.lego.com/blogs/a4ae09b6-0d4c-4307-9da8-3ee9f3d368d6/post/337e11fe-fe0f-4f1c-bf6b-688ae86028de

I've managed to get my project featured in another magazine. This one is called "Old Glory" and is a specialist magazine aimed at steam enthusiasts in the UK. They've given me a full page article all about my LEGO Ideas campaign. Hopefully this might bring in a few votes.

That's great news!  Looks like you've been getting a lot of press and attention!

Thanks! I've been lucky enough to have the model featured in a quite a few magazines over the past few months which is great, but just a shame printed media doesn't seem to generate quite as many votes as online promotion.

This guy has just resubmitted a most excellent UCS-scaled Chitty Chitty Bang Bang of his today... :oh:

LEGO Ideas - UCS Chitty Chitty Bang Bang by Norders

This MOC just reminds me how much I hate the "chrome everything" approach to MOCing. For physical MOCs, it usually strikes me as a bit excessive—for digital ones like this it goes beyond that to just plain deceptive, since not only is the number of chromed ABS parts excessive (especially considering Lego tends to avoid chroming parts without a mold expressly designed to allow for the coating process), there's no way that flexible parts like flex cable and tires could be chromed like that.

It does look really good as a digital build, but as has been pointed out already, it would be physically impossible to build as submitted, even allowing for recolored parts.  I can see this making it to 10k and becoming a set, but as usual not without a complete redesign by TLG.
