Legogal Posted April 20, 2014 Ditto what Only Sinner said! What a marvelous build of Planet Earth! The minifigs being placed on top by the folks at the ceremony is really a nice touch. And all the white structures from all over are simply amazing! This must weigh a ton...how did you manage to lift and move it around HK? Did you have to manage stairs with it? BadLeo Posted April 21, 2014 Thanks ALL When I design how to build it, I made two half of big sphere and then do mosaic on it to avoid building the sphere and the world map at the same time, because that would unable to undo any mistake. And Legogal correct, it is weight a ton, so it must separate upper and lower halves to transport. Legogal Posted May 21, 2014 Your Dad must have been really proud of your building skills! It is great that he was able to see much of what you have built. Sometimes we do things to honor parents after they have passed. I just finished visiting all six Legoland Parks in honor of my mom, who passed away a year ago. Please keep up the wonderful builds. A minifigure is 4cm tall, the average man is 2m (200cm) tall, so the minifgure is 4/200 = 0.02 times the height of the man. The earth is 12742km across, but the minifigure world is therefore 12742*0.02 = 254.84km Lets call that 255km. A quick google search for planet sizes turns up this: http://nssdc.gsfc.na...tary/factsheet/ and shows that our minifigure earth is actually smaller than even Pluto! Looking for smaller objects: http://en.wikipedia....objects_by_size and noting that the minifigure earth has a radius of about 128 km, which has a closest match to something like Hyperion, the 7th moon of Saturn: http://en.wikipedia....Hyperion_(moon) Now there's just one thing left - if the earth really was shrunk and inhabited by Lego minigures... would they have miniaturised Lego to play with?
