AmperZand Posted April 15, 2014 If you're not a purist and are willing to go third party, try the back piece produced by Minifigcat: http://www.minifigcat.com/shop/home.php?cat=509 . I think you'll be able to clip the shield in place. I used a white one to attach the hawk-man's wings in the picture below. Don't know why TLG doesn't produce a part like this.
