-Some car chassis so builders can modify them easily and build their own bodies for them

- Technic parts and motor packs - the 8293 is pretty lackluster, there should be Servo motor/XL motor/L motor packs with differential gears, driving rings and other specialised parts to boost our technic capacities (Maybe with new 10v/12v battery boxes aswell?)

Porsche, Bugatti, what's next -> Lamborgini?

So, what could be next? As previous two are from VW group, next, most probably will be also. Most possible candidate is Lamborghini. I would also speculate - Urus. It would be supercar, but not traditional.

Could be good possibility to get new panels in yellow.

Of course, there is still Bentley possible then. Some minor possibility also for Audi R8.

According to previous works, they should be already working on it, to be ready for 2020.

So given that Lego’s Chiron was starting development around when the actual Chiron was unveiled, I wonder whether the 2020 IP car will follow in the Chiron’s footsteps and be a car that was only recently unveiled. Anyone know what super and hypercars have been announced since the start of the year?

As I wrote, Urus, it is from VW group, it was unveiled at the end of 2017. It is supercar, but different.

I really don’t think it’ll be the Urus to be honest. That car doesn’t do well for the eyes, and an SUV isn’t wide appeal like the 911 and Chiron.

@Ngoc Nguyen ? ? it sounds like Dr Suess... I do not like my cranes on trains, I do not like my cranes on planes, I do not like my cranes on boats, or anything else that floats. I do not like cranes on hovercrafts, come on Lego, have you all gone daft? I like my cranes on big old trucks, like the ones that cost a thousand bucks. I like my cranes with sexy looks, especially with metal hooks. I like my cranes with extended booms, just not on every model in my Lego room. So just what will the new year bring? But another winch and a piece of string.

That's some crazy rap you got there sir!

Regarding the next supercar, I think it must satisfy at least those conditions:

- Iconic. It must be an icon, a representation of something. Porsche 911 is a classic timeless design, and represents luxury. Chiron represents extreme power and speed.
- Well known. May not need to be well known among the general population.
- Contains some new, ground-breaking technical function for Lego Technic. For the Porsche, paddle shifters, 4 speed gearbox. Chiron, W16 engine, 8 speed gearbox. It doesn't need to be something ground breaking in the real life.

How about the new land rover defender 110?

The defender is iconic,

it's well known,

it can introduce new functionality such as a transfer case,

It can introduce many of the new parts we've been asking for,

A defender is one of the few (if not the only) technic model to reach 10,000 votes on Lego ideas,

It allows the technic UCS line to not be limited to only supercars which all have the same basic functions

Yeah but the general public doesn’t flock to a Technic Defender and look at it in awe.

What about a Mercedes G63 AMG 6x6? That's a head turner, but I reckon that a Defender would attract people to look at it in awe, as those people would for any large set. A Defender is iconic, yet humble, like the Beetle or Mini, which Lego have done, albeit not in Technic. I think for the UCS Technic line to have any staying power, Lego has to introduce new parts and functions to attract actual Technic fans. Or maybe they don't, and people will get upset at Lego for churning out endless supercars with similar functions, when they could be doing more technically interesting things.

Well, @Sariel did mention Pagani and McLaren in addition to Bugatti in his review of 42056, noting them as more exotic than Porsche. Not that I'm saying he predicted the future, but if we see either of the other two cropping up in the near future, I would probably be convinced that he is doing just that.

Anyway, seeing as this is the wish topic, I'd like to see more futuristic sets in coming years. TLG are definitely on a tomorrow's world/concept kick right now, and I hope it continues. A high-tech terraforming vehicle of some sort, with a JCB license would be great. Maybe the designers at TLG should play a bit of JCB Pioneer: Mars. And don't skimp on the small CLAAS tyres!

I also want a JCB backhoe, but since JCB is an UK company, and UK is still entangled in the Brexit, I don't think TLG would risk a license with JCB.

Pure Farming 2018 features JCB vehicles, and that game was developed by Polish companies Techland and Ice Flames, so I don't really think the UK thing would be a factor. JCB is a world-famous and well-loved brand, and I think any set with it on the box would sell well.

I also expect a new backhoe (JCB or not), too many new pneumatic parts have been recently introduced, and still there is not a great use of them in sets (example, the new hand pump introduced in 2016 and no more used, or the thin/long cylinder introduced in the Arocs crane and no more used).

I was thinking the MacLaren Senna as it just came out this year (Chiron came out 2016). So time line would make sense. However personally a Centenario would be awesome

Ant if I may add my simple wish - smaller tractor tires to make it like real backhoe...it was long ago that we had proper backhoe; 15 years ago, in 2003 set 8455

Simple suggestion, the 4wd Nurburgring former record holder:

Lamborghini Huracan Performante also just had a reveal.

It could have more active aero, retractable roof, and lots of extras.

Could be, especially because of retractable roof - that could be something really new.

Also rims from Chiron could be used - the mold, it is almost the same. Just new center piece, and it is done :)

Exactly why I said it. It could be a great candidate.

What?! *huh* 42004 was the set that got me back into Technic, way back in March 2013 (okay, so not that way back, but still). What's not to like? It's got so many functions and you can do much with it. Best small Technic set ever in my opinion. :sadnew:

I don't have it, so I don't know. Yes it is great for a small set.
