Well here it is finally:

Back end - it's actually pretty stable but I put it on a transparent mount:

Business end:

Enjoy.

Fantastic build CCOOK. The amount of detail you were able to incorporate into a relatively small model is respectable. I am especially intrigued by the shape and techniques used to create the wings. Care to elaborate on how you achieved this?

I can tell you put a lot of thought into this to create such wonderful details. I especially like how you've made all the gray framing on the wings connect so there is no loose parts at the corners and intersections. I took on that challenge once on a simple Tie fighter and gave up, but you have achieved the effect perfectly. Bravo!

Agreed, I never thought about using that small corner piece when framing the wings. And the fact that your pylons are rounded is especially nice. Well done!

I might need to rebuild my defender using this

Here's a shot of it against a space background:

Look close and you will see hinge tiles connecting with hinge plates along with support 4L bars on grabbers - the 4L bars support the grey wing framing - this same technique could easily yield the Avenger and most other TIE designs as well.

Marvellous building! I know this ship from old Tie Fighter-gaming-days and you just got it perfect. Is it swooshable too?

I played the X-Wing and Tie Fighter games to death when I was a kid and so still have a soft spot for the Tie Defender... this looks great - far better than the official retired lego set.
