[Edit: September 2nd 2016] I have finally gotten around to extending this model in the direction of Kongens Nytorv and Nyhavn which are two very popular destinations of Copenhagen for both tourists and the citizens. I'll put a picture both here and also with a comment later in this thread. Lots of close-ups of the extended part in the Flickr gallery :classic:

[Edit: 2014] I have now added a whole bunch of pictures both here and on flickr. If you want the historical, explanatory discription for the different buildings you will have to visit the flickr photo set. And feel free to leave a commend here or there :)

Original message 2014: I'm a member of Danish LUG Byggepladen and I'm a bit of a rare poster in this wonderful forum, but here's my short story: Over the last few years one thing let to another and much later I'm finally done with my model City of Copenhagen (Denmark). It is a microscale, sporting a really twisted micro snot mosaic road system. For lack of better I have chosen to call it OAMR System — Oblique Angle Micro Road System. You won't get a more LEGO System compatible micro snot road system for this scale. I would personally love to see some different micro's (just as a contrast to those otherwise beautiful Micro Skyscraper Square Grids), perhaps depicting one of the many awesome city plans of the world or just something you make up yourself :) And once again, here is the whole photo set on flickr.

Thanks for posting this. I've seen it on Friday at LEGO World CPH, and I love it. I'm a quite familiar with Copenhagen, as I've visited it many times, and it was instantly recognizable. The amount of details is amazing. What I like the most about it are all the different angles of streets and houses.

I saw some pictures of that and wondered which city it was. It's incredibly detailed and, for the scale, those angles are quite crazy. Well done!

This is beautiful and very impressive. Could you explain how your OAMR System works in detail?

That is beautiful and wonderfully detailed. I only wish there were a hundred more photos of it.

Hey guys — thanks a bunch for your feedback. I have been very busy (still am) since completing my MOC/LEGO World but I will get back with more photos (close-ups) and an explanation of the OAMR System.

Yes! I really wanted to hear an explanation of your technique you devised, but did not want to be impolite and pry. I am eagerly awaiting now. :)

All my MOCs since '08 are still intact... maybe not the cheapest approach. I promissed more/better pictures and a little explaining but it will be a few more days. Sorry about that.

At a slow pace I have started to add more photos to the flickr photo set of the project. I'd like to believe I'm alot better at making MOCs than photographing them :D I have updated the first post to include all the photos. Don't miss the tour discription in the flickr photo set :D

Wow! Incredible! All the angled pieces leave me cross eyed! Fantastic landscaping, too. It is dizzying to look at the photos that blow up small sections because there are just so many bricks.

Congratulations!

I really enjoyed tracking the sightseeing we did the day before in Copenhagen.

I knew it had to resemble the real thing as closely as possible or it wouldn't work. Actually at the very start I did a vector mockup of the map with the streets straightened out but OMG it sucked.

Congratulations!

And you would think that micro took a lot less bricks to produce, but nope  Edited by Ulrik Hansen

Very beautiful, detailed and I believe accurate map\plan of a city! That's simply great, one of things I always wanted to see in bricks. Unbelievable!

The details are so incredible. I am truly and deeply impressed by this.

I had this vision so imagine seeing how it all worked out in the end :classic: I am grateful for the support. I thought I'd take a break but I can feel my position on that gradually changing :sceptic::laugh:

This is fabulous, all the angles you've managed to achieve plus the detail makes it stunning. I have never seen a map done like this before and its very recognisable.
