I'd love a black edition or a red and white/yellow fire fighter plane

I would recommend this plane, due to the functions and the wide variety of pieces you get with it. A small modification i would make would be on the the black gears on the end of each wing as they can stick slightly causing jerking of the ailerons. Also another modification i have made is i have added lights to where the landing lights are on the plane (Just over the top of the wheels).

Im still lookuing for a way to add a tailrudder.

So far all of my ideas failed..

Anybody had more luck then me?

There's a video on Youtube showing the hoover floating trough a room :excited:

According to the instructions there is no remote included and also only 1 engine. Correct me if I am wrong.

What else is missing to make this happen?

Buy two, and make a bigger version out of it? 4 engines, twice the length, etc.

Where would you put it ?

Bump!

Tonight i started with tinkering on my cargo plane. I've been wanting to do so for about 3 month now (got my hands on it in March).

I started with the right wing extended it a bit ( 11studs) and added a second engine gondola. The wings needs to be supported by a 16L liftarm, other wise the prop blades hint the ground.

Here are some images. Don't mind the color scheme - it is WIP and proof of concept (an early, very early alpha spoken binary):

Comments are welcome.

Hi new to this forum and first post. only recently gotten back into technic thou i have gotten random sets here and there over the years.

This is my first modification and didn't do anything fancy. basically lengthened the fuselage. Changed the main landing gear from 4 to 6. Lengthened and widen the wings. Added 2 additional engine bays. Moved the battery box so its easier to remove. widen the flaps and added an additional movement. Removed the cockpit door. As i used 2 42025 to make this i used both battery box's and engines.

Probably not the best looking as the ailerons are sagging from the added weight. Also since its just sitting on my desk i built 2 brackets under the 1st and 4th engine bays so to prevent warping of the beams. There is a considerable amount sag on the wings where the wing tip is like 3studs lower than where the wing root is.

All comments are welcome and look forward to learning more building methods

But is there already anyone who has an idea on some working tailrudder?

Step 1: 42025 needs a working rudder.

Step 2: ???????

Step 3: Profit!

Yesterday I got set 42025 off a friend who had built it, I have never owned this set before so I am not sure what is "normal" for it.

I have noticed a couple of things that appear to be different to the photos I have seen online. I have posted a couple of photos of what I have seen online and how I think it should look. I did take photos of mine but I left my memory card at home :(

- The rear cargo ramp does not touch the ground when it is lowered. Below is what I think it should look like, mine is at least a stud high off the ground at the far end.

- The rear landing gear wheels don't go as far up as what the photos show. Below is what I think it should look like, with mine the mini LAs are not sitting in the gap but above it, I have checked and they have enough space to go down but something is stopping them, I suspect in the gear train.

Has anybody else had these issues? As I didn't build it myself I am not sure where to start looking to fix it.

Hi, start looking into original instructions (online version). Simple.

Thanks, I have the printed instructions which I started looking at yesterday, so far no luck.

You should disassemble the plane, and have a pleasure of building it again ....

Seconded! I'm surprised that wasn't the first thing that you did when you got your hands on the set :sceptic:

Thanks for the replies. I have too much other stuff going on at the moment to have the time to build it. I found the issue and all working how it should now :)

I modified the cargo plane by removing the motor-driven linear actuators that raise and lower the landing gear. I replaced the actuators with pneumatic cylinders. I also removed the opening nose function which I think is unnecessary on this model. I'm also in the process of adding PF M motors directly into the prop engines and I want to change the rear cargo from LA to pneumatic. This video shows the outcome of the landing gear modification and some photos along the way.

I have made this plane to actually have a fully functional cargo bay. The motor and the battery are shaped as a cargo container, easily removable. I have filled in as much of the open spacess as I could. It also has a redesigned landing gear, which uses smaller wheels, and it is not as bulky as the original.

HI folks,

Here is my second take on this great set.

I have turned the plane upside down ha ha ha, I made it with the wing under the fuselaj, and with two jet engines, smaller wheels for landing gear (functional), kept all the flight controls functional.

One thing that amazes me is that originally, I did not think this resembled a cargo plane much at all. More than just the lack of size (obviously too small) I did not think that the landing gear was accurate. Certainly much different than a large commercial airline. But then I did some research. The landing gear is actually very similar to that of a C-130. I was very, pleasantly suprised. The overall construction seems similar to that of a C-130. Another thing that surprised me is that looking at how the thing lands, there much be some pretty sophisticaed technology in the cockpit to help the pilot not scrape the back end of the plane when landing. The leanding gear just doesn't extent down very far.

For got to add pic
