Captain Braunsfeld Posted November 1, 2013 (edited) Hello, I have posted a few pirate ships but nothing in this forum yet. This has to change! So, here we go with my first wintery MOC: The Fortress in the Snow. The wind is supposed to come from the left side... There is the Monty Python It's Man trying to get to the entrance of the castle: And behind a secret door (based on an old Adventure set) you will find the Yeti: My younger son has built the tree: Have a nice weekend, yours Sir (Captain) Braunsfeld - edit December 2014 - I would like to claim UoP credits for: Architecture wall techniques Landscape Design snow and ice studs up rocks and cliffs Anthropology Life in Mitgardia Edited December 21, 2014 by Captain Braunsfeld
SlimShady Posted November 1, 2013 Very beautiful fortress. Windows are great, snow is very effective and river looks awesome.
soccerkid6 Posted November 1, 2013 Impressive build! I really like the castle design, especially the towers flanking the drawbridge, how you used the prefab arch panel in the second floor of the castle, the well integrated tudor sections, and the little guard house The snow effect is also excellent You should definitely join Mitgardia: link Also check out the Colossal Castle Contest: link Your build would fit in the Miscellaneous category. mpoh98 Posted November 1, 2013 Wow, fantastic work here! I love how you made the drawbridge, and the tudor sections are awesome! Wonderful work on the castle! I agree with soccerkid6, you would fit right in with Mitgardia!
ZCerberus Posted November 1, 2013 Good design and execution! The photos need a little work, but that will come! Great job and welcome to Historica!

mrcp6d Posted November 2, 2013 This is great! I like how you've almost completely built the landscape with white bricks--makes it look like it's in the midst of winter. soccerkid's right, you'd do well in Mitgardia!
Gideon Posted November 2, 2013 Welcome to GoH! This was an opening to be proud of I sadly have to agree that this seems to fit into Mitgardia best, even though there are a lot of snow up in the Rakath Mountains of Kaliphlin as well

Lord Vladivus Posted November 2, 2013 Great castle, and snowscape! I sadly have to agree that this seems to fit into Mitgardia best, even though there are a lot of snow up in the Rakath Mountains of Kaliphlin as well Plenty of snow high up in Nocturnus too! And we're the best guild!
LegoPanda Posted November 2, 2013 i like it a lot especially how you used the black falcons, i love those figs
The Yeti Posted November 3, 2013 Well to start I obviously enjoyed the inclusion of the yeti within the hidden entrance. Some other things that stand out: Your scattered use of the trans clear pieces to stand in as ice or icicles works wonderfully when mixed with the solid white bricks as snow approach. The compressed nature of the main tower, the altered proportion makes this otherwise foreboding structure almost cute, well done You have also done an admirable job of simulating snow physics on the roofs mixing in the brick-bricks gives a nice sense of texture without being overwhelming
RonaldusMaxus Posted November 3, 2013 The detail into the snow is ridiculously awesome! I'm definitely going to steal a couple of ideas on how to make my snow look better (if you don't mind).
Gabe Posted November 4, 2013 Great build, very enjoyable to look at. The snow on the roof and battlements is very well done. You've intergrated that large stonework-patterned panel beautifully too - it looks perfect on the upper story there.
Yooha Posted November 4, 2013 I love the different type of loopholes and the snow on the roof. Good work!
kermit Posted November 4, 2013 Very nice moc. Your arrangement of the snow from the castle to the ground is impressive especially the snow fall on the roof.
