Capn Kirk 911 Posted March 29, 2007 Besides Lego I would have to say that one of my favorite things to do is play Warhammer 40,000. At my school I have made a sudden craz with all my friends (well, almost all) with this game. There has been a couple of mocs, made from lego from Warhammer 40k. This topic is open to discussin about anything having to do with Warhammer 40,00 and I am sure we can mold in some other Games-Workshop games too!
PSPguy Posted March 30, 2007 Can ya provide a link cause I never heard of Warhammer 40k. :-$
UltraPrime Posted March 30, 2007 I used to play 40k ALOT. Started in '87 with Rogue Trader, and was still playing 2 yearsago. I only gave up due to not having the time to play it. I keep thinking bout getting back into it, but just haven't been able to yet! Ever use the Arm Builder program?

Jipay Posted March 30, 2007 I can partially blame 40K for my darkage. Here are the armies I used to play (I still have them somewhere) : - Salamanders (3000+ points) - Blood Angels (2000+ points) - Tau (3000+ points) - Sisters of battle (500+ points) - Inquisition (1500 points) - Some Chaos - Some Eldars - Some Orcs - Some Space wolves + various other stuff mainly based on their designed. Then I realised the fantastic level of detail we could achieve with all the new lego pieces and switched back. I still enjoy the universe by playing Dawn of War and all the add ons. My main problem with 40k is the price. It's insanely expensive and they are now releasing new versions every 3/4 years, with constantly renewed figures. Compared to Games Workshop, TLC is a fundation who is offering quality toys for children at ridiculous prices.
Khorne Posted March 30, 2007 I like Warhammer and 40k. But I don't really have an army because of the insane prices *wacko* . Also, I suck at painting and I don't want to waste expensive soldiers due to crappy paintjobs :-P . The reason I like Warhammer is mainly because of the intricate background stories. I am a sucker for fluff and Warhammer (and 40k) have loads of it. Like Jipay I also enjoy the universe by playing Dawn of War. That game just pwnz all :-P . I think there are plenty of Warhammer MOCs around in LEGO, perhaps we can display some in this thread?
Capn Kirk 911 Posted March 30, 2007 I agree with both of you about how dawn of war is an amazing game, and the fact that Warhammer can be quite expencive. Jipay it sounds like you have quite a few armies, If you can can you post some pictures of warhammer 40,ooo for others to see what warhammer 40,ooo looks like, be much appreciate because I'm afraid I can't on my computer. And to Khrone All I have to say about your painting problem is that practice makes perfect!( But with Warhammer it can take a lot of practice, trust me I had the same problem when I started!) :-D
Asuka Posted March 30, 2007 I only played the video game Fire Warrior, but I

Asuka Posted March 30, 2007 Wow. How long did you need to paint one of these? 8-|
Jipay Posted March 30, 2007 Hard to say, those were 4 years ago. I'd say 2/3 hours for each at max. I am one of those players who love to display a decent army on the table. So I tend to take my time, but I can't take too long because all in all you need the figs ready to play :-P
Asuka Posted March 30, 2007 Great work! *y* Once I was in a game shop and looked at all of these fine models ( *sweet* ), but the paint job (and the smell of adhesives) prevented me from buying.... That

zero1312 Posted April 7, 2007 I'm also interested in Warhammer 40k. I still have some of my models, mostly vehicles though. :-) Interested to see them? And yes, these insane prices are keeping me from buying more. And I was having a cool MOC idea. :-(

Khorne Posted April 7, 2007 That's a lot of money worth of models you got there, zero. Are these all of your models or do you have full armies of a certain race, too?
zero1312 Posted April 7, 2007 That's a lot of money worth of models you got there, zero. Are these all of your models or do you have full armies of a certain race, too? Well, those are all what's left of my collection. I once had a Tau Hammerhead tank, several other crisis battlesuits, two full Tau squads, a Space Marine Landraider, a SM Terminator squad, two full SM squads, a Necron Lord and a Necron Destructor Lord. I had to sell them due a longer unemployment. :-(
Capn Kirk 911 Posted April 7, 2007 So you are quite a colecter there, you did a pretty fine paint job on the the crisis suit I like that model the best out of all of them! here's my favorite miniture EVER! http://www.minivault.com/images/BRLib2Face.JPG
