Customised Iron Man minifig MK HP (High Poseability)

Recommended Posts

Well, theres been making lots of customised Iron Mans lately. I'd thought i will jump onto to MOC wagon.. This is not any Mark in particular, but its just to test revolutionary idea of customising minifigs, with high dynamic poses.. I was toying for a few weeks of thinking how to get my Assassin Creed Ezio to have poseable arms. I suddenly got a brain wave and tried it out.. Then i came across some wonderful customs on Flickr and google search for ideas.

Scroll below for more pics

1. For the basic armour, i opted to make a 3D armour instead of the flat plain decal torso - NO DECALS FOR ME!!! HAND POWER!

I used a Brickarms armour piece, added Brickforge neckarmour+Pauldron. Welded them together? Nah just superglue

2. A old type skeleton was sacrificed, and the arm socket glued to the ironman torso, with the arms fused with the skeletal arm as well20131019_225248_zps4ef9d050.jpg

3. next, the legs were cut up and levers glued

4. Sculpting and blending was done

6. Ready for paint! Note the 2 sets of hands, one is a clenched fist, the other is the open palm attack mode, with individual fingers carefully sculpted onto a standard lego hand

7. Sprayed and ready.

Introducing the MK HP

WOOOAHHHHH!!!! Okay okay guys, relax.. It's just a Iron Man minifig

20131021_022322_zps6b15add0.jpg

Pew Pew!

Time to fly. Jarvis, full power to the thrusters boosters!

Notice the angle of the head can now be tilted backwards so IronMan can see where he is flying. This is the drawback of all Lego Iron Man minifigs in the inflight mode.. that is, until now..

Landing time.. This is the classic Iron Man poster kneeling pose with 1 fist on the ground.. Thanks to my new modified legs, it can do this pose easily, with some bluetack to stick it in place.

So what's next after a hard two days of MOCing, Need some booze, of course.. Tony Stark can rest his arm on the glass bartop thanks to the new arm, and even curl his knees abit.

That's all folks! Bye!

That's quite ingenious. It's like a fusion of Bionicle and System. The poses are great, the crouched with fist on the ground is awesome! I like the open hands 'pew pew' pose too.

It´s awesome =)

The sculpt hands are the best of this imo.

You should totally make a Hulk with this technique.

Woah, that's mad! It's hard to picture a LEGO figure being quite so detailed and poseable.

Wow that is really cool! I love the posability ypu created while still keeping the general look and feel of the Lego minifigure. The only criticism I have is the arms look too small without the open hands you made, the thighs look a little boxy, and the neck looks too long when the mask is up. Other than that the proportions seem great!

gotta be honest I really don't like it very much. what you've done is cut up and mangled some lego pieces into whats basically a lego technic figure. the figure is well painted and the details like the extra armour are well sculpted but the second you try to pose in anything other than a straight legged standing position you get those horrible gaps in the knees. I like the general idea of what your going after but I think you'd been better off use a technic figure as a starting base which already has allot of the poseability you worked so hard to put into your moc or maybe going for something brick based instead.

incase your unfamilar with technic figures here's s an image that shows off their poseability range. I honestly wondered why we never got at least a few superhero and jedi figures based off these guys.

I personally think it looks great. Really unique and creative. Would love to see some other Mach variations or maybe even some other Avengers (War Machine springs to mind) in this style! :)

They died out at about the start of the licence era. We did get 4Juniors super heroes (Spiderman) and they were not so popular.

The Technnics figure look horrible regardless of poseability. I must admit I don't see the reason to add to a thread that's been dead for nearly two and a half years just to pick holes in it.
