European Style Truck

Recommended Posts

Hello fellow builders! :classic: After a small period away of about a month I'm back with my latest MOC, a European Style Truck.

It uses an XL motor geared down 1:2 for propulsion via an old differential and has ackermann steering geometry with return to center steering, as done by LasseD on his trucks (http://c-mt.dk/instructions/). Other functions include opening doors and I guess the coupling is one as it would work  just I don't have enough pieces to build a trailer...

More Pictures including every Technic builders favourite, the underside

And a video...

I have also made instructions for this, in the form of an LXF file which can be found at this brickshelf link (when moderated) http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=532452

Looks like this:

Very nice, but I think you should add something between the wheels because that space looks quite empty now. Maybe you fit some sort of fuel tank on it?

It looks light enough to be driven fast by a PF Medium motor. PF XL geared down twice is kind of overkill.

I realise this, but I tried and it just made it look worse

It is yes, but the XL motor is also part of the chassis, and it's geared down as it is the most compact way of inserting the differential I could find with the parts I have available

Cool looking. I will try and build one if i have the parts :)

I'm uploading it to rebrickable, obviously it needs to be moderated first, I'll post the link asap

Thanks for the nice comments guys :classic: I won't be adding anything to it as I've already ripped it down, my 9398 arrived so I need the parts for my new MOC

Ok, there's a word document as well to download at my brickshelf saying what's not quite right with it, if you haven't noticed
