"Welcome aboard the Redemption! From this hub and command center, we coordinate our efforts to fight against the Empire, but at the same time avoid any large engagements with their fleet. I'm sure that in time, with training, you will become some of our most valued soliders and pilots."

Introduction

Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka is a building RPG set during the Shadows of the Empire time period, between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Builders can join one of two factions, the Empire or the Rebellion, and participate in 'episodes' (challenges) to earn in-game XP, tags, and other rewards, both digital and physical. Builders advance their character through their participation in these episodes.

Building Outside of Episodes (Challenges)

  • Feel free to show character progression (within the rules, of course) outside of the episodes in other MOCs. You should post these builds in the main Star Wars forum.
  • Make sure to let us know of these builds in your faction topic (Redemption for the Rebels, Avenger for the Empire) -- they're eligible to be scored on a scale of 1-5 and can earn you up to 5 XP. (Keep your post there In-Character, of course.)
  • Your free builds must be set in locations that your faction controls, the planets which your faction has control of by winning episodes on. Remember that your character is part of a division assigned to a specific ship or base by a commander, so you wouldn't be able to stray far from the planets you're based out of. A list of the planets allowed for each faction is available in the Core Rules topic.

Where to Post What

  • This subforum, Watto's Junkyard, is used for contests. As such, you should only post your entries to Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka episodes here.
  • You are free to build in the Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka game outside of the episodes. Post such builds in the main Star Wars forum.
  • The Core Rules topic contains the rules in the the first post and an index of all the players in the second post.
  • Players should introduce characters in the Introduction and Discussion topic, and staff will add them to the player index. All posts in the Introduction and Discussion topic should be Out of Character.
  • These two faction topics, Alliance's Redemption and Empire's Avenger, are used to discuss and roleplay In Character with your teammates. Announce your free builds in your faction topic.
  • Episodes will be announced in their own topics, and you will be able to use those topics to ask questions about and discuss the specific episode.

I'm pleased to enter the service aboard this widely known ship. Let's blast some Imps!

Indeed. Need to fix my ship first, it's in quite a few pieces. Made a deal with a scruffy-looking Corellian smuggler for it. He neglected to mention that there was some assembly required.

Having only ever shot two Womp Rats and my Grandma before I feel this is going to be quite a challange, I was so eager I went to my garage and lovingly polished my A-Wing. I hope she comes away from all this scratch-free. I can tell this going to be a jolly old spot of fun. I've got a thing or two to say to you Mr. Vader!

Right, my ship is awaiting clearance for active duty, but I'm taking it for a test flight later. Let's see how my new Z-95 handles!

What a beauty, J4ke. I think I haven't found the right ship to draw level with you by now.

Nar’Bilu

Is a young Twi’lek female who was raised on her home planet Ryloth and far beyond. She had a happy childhood under the wing of her father, who was a diplomat for the Alliance. In her teens she developed a rebellious character and when her father couldn’t handle her anymore he contacted a friend in the army. Under pressure of her father Nar’Bilu enrolled into the Alliance Rebellion. After the first training missions on a foreign planet, she started to like it. Particularly travelling and discovering new planets, species and unpredictable situations. She developed a sharp eye for detail, the smallest inconsistency she could spot. She excelled in recon and scout training and started to appreciate the field work.

3 ABY (38:5:1)

The rebel trainees arrive on the Redeption for mission assignments. A room full of troopers and pilots stare at the general awaiting orders. A team of three troopers are assigned to a pilot, Nar’Bilu is one of them. The team is going to Hoth to escort the Mon Calamari scientist and biologist Dar Dinoli on one of his expeditions. He is already on Hoth but recent event and escalations on Hoth jeopardize his research and he may have to leave the planet. The team is brought to Echo Base. Nar’Bilu packs up her gear and some supplies and loads it on a shuttle. The research facility, Bi-O-Hoth is just a ten minute flight away from base. When the team arrives they replace the current team and after a short briefing the old team flies back to base.

3 ABY (38:5:18)

Dinoli trained the team in riding the Tauntauns, adaption to the climate and environment. In the next month a few missions outside the facility were organized. One in particular was interesting. The pilot and one trooper stayed behind, but Nar’Bilu and another trooper volunteered to accompany Dinoli. He was going to study and check the Wampa trap he placed high up in het mountain. Dinoli and one of his assistants on the Speeder Trans followed by Nar’Bilu and a co trooper on a Tauntaun they headed in a straight line to the mountain. From a distance they could overhear a Wampa making a horrific sound. Everyone stopped, the screaming was deafening. Nar’Bilu walked towards the hole in the ground, twenty feet in front of the team. Glimpsing over the edge she saw a Wampa sitting on the ground in a cage. She nodded to the rest of the team and when Dinoli came closer his face was a giant smile, nothing more. He grabbed a stungun and within minutes the Wampa was sleeping like Cinderella. Just in time, because Wampa sounds were coming from every corner. The team rushed back on their transports and flew back to the facility. The animal was placed in a sound secured area in the facility to make sure his cries weren’t spotted by his kind. Three quiet weeks followed.

3 ABY (38:6:7)

The teams pilot came running to the sleeping quarters with the shocking news that he just saw an army of AT-AT’s heading towards Echo Base. Moments later the news came that Echo Base was under attack and that they can’t hold the power of The Empire’s army. We have to evacuate today. Dinoli and his crew packed all his research, animals, plants and other undefined things onto the Bi-O-Logic. A Star Cruiser equipped with laboratory, enough storage space and supplies to last a decade. The Snowspeeder and the Bi-O-Hazard were docked on board as well. Before the team could realize it, everything was packed and protected. The challenge now is to get save out of Hoth orbit. It was easier than thought, because the Empire fleet was too busy with ships ascending from Echo Base.

3 ABY (38:6:8)

Echo Base was lost, Hoth was lost, so Bi-O-Hoth was lost and probably out of Alliance reach for the next few years. To continue his research on cold environment Dinoli has to choose a new habitable location. The course was set to Cloud City to restock, study his findings and search for a suitable planet. Back on Cloud City, Dinoli reported to the responsible officer his recommendations for the current team and that he would like this team on his next expedition. The team was de-briefed and reassigned to Dinoli. After a two day leave they team reports back to Dinoli’s quarters.

RogueAng - Rebel Trooper

rogueang.jpg

RogueAng just recently enlisted in the Rebel Army, but he is no stranger to warfare, nor the Empire.

He began his military career with the Army of Republic, prior to the arrival of the Clone Army and the proceeding xenophobia of the Emperor and his Empire. He served with distinction in a number of smaller conflicts in the outer rim as the Clones took the forefront in the Republics primary operations. As Clones became more prevalent, the Republic Command's mindset altered and RogueAng could see how the core troopers became utilized as expendable tools rather than sentient lives. During a particularly brutal engagement on Corellia, RogueAng realized that he could not longer in good conscience serve the Republic. He took advantage of the conflict to desert and hire on as a boarder for a Corellian Smuggler.

Over the next decade, RogueAng was rarely planetside for more than a couple of days at a time. He hired on as a boarder, body guard or mechanic to numerous smuggling and mercenary cartels. He spent quite a bit of time in the Mid-Rim sectors with a 2-year stint in the Corporate Sector. While RogueAng was able to avoid the Empire and hide his true identity as a Spacer, He was not happy with the life he was leading.

Eventually, RogeuAng was able to save up enough money to settle down and start his own business. He opened a vehicle repair shop on a small backworld planet in the outer rim, and lived happily for a number of years. He thought that he may be able to live out his years in obscurity, but inevitably, the Empire established a presence on his planet. He was loathe to abandon his new life, but the Imperial Commander of the newly established base had two traits that are common imperial officers - Xenophobia and greed. RogueAng was drawn into a conflict with a stormtrooper squad, and he was forced to flee.

RogueAng knew that he would never be free to live his life as long as the Empire was in power, and had never seriously considered aiding the Rebels until now. He knows that they have a Jawa's chance on Hoth, but he is determined that he will no longer sacrifice his principles, and has decided to throw his lot in with the Rebellion.

Pilot Hobbythom reporting for duty!

I come from a poor, backwater planet. That piece of dirt just got out of the dark ages really. However, I did manage to, er..., 'win' an old Y-fighter from some one-eyed Twi'lek recently so I thought to myself: 'Hobs, why not give this whole rebelling thing a try?'. Next thing I know I am wearing an orange jumpsuit and going places... So far so good!

OoC: Alright, I guess it is time to start planning a build for Episode 1. An idea has crossed my mind. Would any other rebel troopers want to get together to join a squad? I am thinking that 2 or 3 of us could get together, and then each MOC could present one stage of the episode. It would be a way to tell a sequential story, while staying true to the one entry per contestant rules. If anyone is interested, let me know, and we can begin getting organized.

I'm going to do first some free builds for my back-story. I haven't done any MOC before so will try to build some experience with those builds.

"OOC" Just remember that your story, and your squads story, can all tie together, but your story is yours! Don't expect the other person you are working with to complete your story. I just want to make sure that was clear.

I actually have plans for a free build at some point to utilize all of you, or most of you, in a build forthcoming. Just need to decide where to put the battle...
