"I don't know why you are so sure of that. These mercenary types have absolutely no respect for loyalty or punctuality. Why the masters insist on hiring low-life scum like them, I will never understand."

"Oh, I don't know. I've seen a couple of 'em at a bar or two around town. Always seemed like rather pleasant folk to me. Besides, I don't see what good worrying is going to do ya. Looks like you've already begun to carve a ditch in the road with your pacing."

Grimwald runs up, puffing and panting. "Ooh, me poor old feet... Oh, uh, hello there. You must be Mr. Mordred. Grimwald Gjinko, Gnome cleric, at your service."

"Here, Gnome, have this." Romulus throws over the Staff of The Frog Paladin to Grimwald.

"Thormanil, may I recccomend you give your medal of glory to a lower leveled party member, like Mizuki, Grimwald or I? Oh, and my club is also available to be loaned. "

I give one last nervous glance to my mutilated hand before I approach the party. I walk towards the cart and its two bickering owners, finding two of my party already there. Both Grimwald and Romulus were familiar to me. Mizuki was as well, but she seemingly wasn't here yet. Grabbing cookies, I assume.

I go up to Mordred and nod.

"Sorrow, reporting for duty."

I quite nearly offer my left hand - the one barbed in glass - for a handshake, but quickly decide against it.

Made some purchases in the marketplace - my updated stats are in the marketplace/statistics topic.

Approaching the party, Thormanil notices only one familiar face, Mr. Dean, or Romulus, or whatever he was calling himself now. The other faces were strangers to him. In fact, he wasn't even sure if one of them had a face.

"Oi! Thormanil's the name, glad t'be here. Hey again, Lyca...Rom... err, what name are y'going by now? Anyhow, when do we get to bash some skulls?" he chuckles.

Made a quick trip to the market. Gold should be updated to: 1811 and note the addition of Sticky Gloves to my active inventory, while Aqua Gear has been moved to the pack.

"Ah, hello. Sorrow, at your service. You were with Bartholomew when you slayed the Obsidian Dragon, right?"

I toss Thromanil and Mizuki a Phoenix Essence

"Shut up Mac, Now that all of you have finally arrived. We can begin, and you'd better listen closely because I am only going to explain this once. You have been hired to escort this cart and its cargo to the town of Bric'lin. There the cargo will be traded for an item that is of great importance to the almighty house of Shadeaux. That item must then be escorted back to Eubric to see that no harm comes to it." Mordred makes a gesture to his left at the man currently sitting on a rather large cart.

"This man will be your driver, his name is Mac and while he may be an incompetent fool."

"I love you to."

"He has managed to keep that cart running on all four wheels for a few years now and knows when and where you will be meeting your contacts. Again I cannot stress enough, NO HARM is to come to the cart or its cargo!"

"No. Mac, like the rest of you, is expendable. The cargo is very valuable to the Shadeaux family and must be protected with your lives. Are there any questions?"

"There are the occasional encounters with raiders and bandits out on the road, and if word gets out that one of the houses is sending out supplies it tends to make for a prime target for the wolfgang. I've had pretty good luck in my travels so I highly doubt we'll run into any trouble, but the guys upstairs prefer to be prepared in the event that trouble finds us."
