Your past Mafia experience

My father, he is from Sicily.

Your ability to focus on the game over the next 32 days

So-so. I can give an hour a day for sure.

Will you be able to keep up with 20 hour NA deadlines?

Of course. Nobody goes without the Internet for 24 hours in first world countries these days.

Your favorite Mafia moment

Um, when I watched Shadows kill me, then got resurrected, but didn't get my results because dead players can't share results, even though I wasn't dead? Wait? Is the question 'favourite?' Hinckley lynching Sandy for claiming he was scum in Bloodbrick II was pretty memorable, and a good example of what town should never ever ever do.

Tell me why you think Vanilla Townies are important or how they are most useful

Vanilla is an under-appreciated flavour, just because it's white, and less recognizable than strawberry or chocolate. Actually, it's quite tasty, and when voting as a block, is quite powerful.

(6 steps in a Mafia application?) Give me your word that you'll participate in whatever crazy concoction I've doctored to avoid the meta-gaming. It will take everyone's cooperation and to operate on their honor.

I can promise that. Participation has never been my problem.

Your past Mafia experience

I saw clips from the Godfather a couple weeks ago.

Your ability to focus on the game over the next 32 days

Next two weeks are so-so, but things should open up a bit more in May.

Will you be able to keep up with 20 hour NA deadlines?

Are the deadlines not available? Don't know how I can keep up with them, then. Whenever they are, though, I can, if its called for.

Your favorite Mafia moment

Pelly? Sully? Probably Prison Riot, that was fun. Can't really name an exact moment, just exact bad ones :p

Tell me why you think Vanilla Townies are important or how they are most useful

Their purpose, well, to simply put it, is a lot of meat shield and target practice, and then their sacrifice leads to the steam roll of the scum. Oh, wait, that was EB Mafia II. No, just kidding. I consider them the most important role in the game (even if they're not really). The town becomes compromised if they don't all participate and work like a well oiled machine, and there are sleepers and those that become over enthused, actually, they end up being more detrimental. Either way, the vanilla role is quite nuanced in what it can do, so it can be, at times, more complicated to play than a well laid out power role.

(6 steps in a Mafia application?) Give me your word that you'll participate in whatever crazy concoction I've doctored to avoid the meta-gaming. It will take everyone's cooperation and to operate on their honor.

I solemnly swear it.

I don't have any major plans for the next month.

Will you be able to keep up with 20 hour NA deadlines?

Shouldn't be a problem!

Killing the werewolf and tattertailing to be a vampire. I also love people who talk to dead fishes.

If you'll have me, here's my application:

  • Your past Mafia experience

Just got expelled for drinking in Aperture Academy.
  • Your ability to focus on the game over the next 32 days

No problems there.
  • Will you be able to keep up with 20 hour NA deadlines?

Yeah, shouldn't be a problem either.
  • Your favorite Mafia moment

While it didn't look to favorably on me, my epic fail on a NA was a huge learning opportunity and added so much to the game.
  • Tell me why you think Vanilla Townies are important or how they are most useful

A properly played vanilla townie could tip a game in any direction. There's so much more potential there than with pre-defined roles, imho.
  • (6 steps in a Mafia application?) Give me your word that you'll participate in whatever crazy concoction I've doctored to avoid the meta-gaming. It will take everyone's cooperation and to operate on their honor.

I'm intrigued by this and can't wait to see what's in store. I will honor and obey even the craziest of commands.

Hopefully I am found worthy to join!

I really should have read the forum first.

1) Your past Mafia experience

I've been in tons of games and they've let me host 3 mafia games.

2) Your ability to focus on the game over the next 32 days

Yes.

3) Will you be able to keep up with 20 hour NA deadlines?

Yes.

4) Your favorite Mafia moment

There's too many, but the first that comes to mind is when some noob got lynched in Witch Hunt Mafia for suggesting that he was going to cook fish tacos.

5) Tell me why you think Vanilla Townies are important or how they are most useful

They're able to be used as cannon fodder. I mean, they're able to be used as surrogates for people with night actions and they're able to be strong in the thread without fearing that they're going to die and cost the town a power role.

6) (6 steps in a Mafia application?) Give me your word that you'll participate in whatever crazy concoction I've doctored to avoid the meta-gaming. It will take everyone's cooperation and to operate on their honor.

Scouts honor.

1) Your past Mafia Experience - Lots of females and moon related characters.

2) Your ability to focus on the game over the next 32 days - 90%. Finished final film of the semester yesterday, so I won't disappear over weekends anymore. If I did well enough in Mafia School, then you'll have no complaints!

3) Will you be able to keep up with 20 hour NA deadlines? - Yes!

4) Your favorite Mafia moment - Do we really have to always answer these? That time that I was the SK in EB Mafia I. I have never had to put less thought into a game, it was a blessing.

5) Tell me why you think Vanilla Townies are important or how they are most useful - They sometimes get killed instead of power roles, but other than that should put in as little effort as possible so as to not distract the real players.

6) (6 steps in a Mafia application?) Give me your word that you'll participate in whatever crazy concoction I've doctored to avoid the meta-gaming. It will take everyone's cooperation and to operate on their honor. - I don't have honor, but eh, what the hell, you can trust me.

I will apply:

Your past Mafia experience

I was lynched out of Aperture Academy because people hated my beauty

Your ability to focus on the game over the next 32 days

I for sure can focus for 5 minutes. 32 days shouldn't be a problem.

Will you be able to keep up with 20 hour NA deadlines?

What's NA? Yes.

Your favorite Mafia moment

Hah, when everyone bandwagon-ed me on falsified information, and then seeing their confusion at my township the following morning (I was watching as a ghost you see).

Tell me why you think Vanilla Townies are important or how they are most useful

Gotta say...I'm a chocolate fan.

This sound like it gonna be a really awesome game, YEA I want to be apart of it

Your past Mafia experience

-Not much, I am still apart of the ongoing Shadows and Darkdragons "Aparture Academy" but the game is in it´s final phase

Your ability to focus on the game over the next 32 days

-I have survived so far and I never thought it would be this long.

Will you be able to keep up with 20 hour NA deadlines?

-Oh yea, ofcourse. No pain, no gain, no sleep...

Your favorite Mafia moment

-Not much yet but seeing Brickington "Ricky" screw up his voting and editing his comments in the Academy game, followed by being shot to death by Mr. Shadeaux janitor bots. That was hilarious

Tell me why you think Vanilla Townies are important or how they are most useful

-necessary fillment, manipulate can be a valuable resource to success

6 steps in a Mafia application? Give me your word that you'll participate in whatever crazy concoction I've doctored to avoid the meta-gaming. It will take everyone's cooperation and to operate on their honor.

I think I lost my honor a long time ago and the last person I gave my word to I turned my back on but any more than that I will do what ever you say

PS I still don´t know what meta gaming is

I am considering not allowing players to post PMs from other players. I'd like to hear people's thoughts on that.

I think that would be a good idea, seeing how Walter posting his PMs in EB II helped the town a lot at lynching the right player; if posting PMs is allowed, I'd even go as far as to say that the scum should fake PMs among them, and that's not the kind of play I'd like to see.

So, if you'd like to play, please respond to this post with the following information:

  1. Your past Mafia experience
  2. Your ability to focus on the game over the next 32 days
  3. Will you be able to keep up with 20 hour NA deadlines?
  4. Your favorite Mafia moment
  5. Tell me why you think Vanilla Townies are important or how they are most useful
  6. (6 steps in a Mafia application?) Give me your word that you'll participate in whatever crazy concoction I've doctored to avoid the meta-gaming. It will take everyone's cooperation and to operate on their honor.

1. All the ones on my profile, plus Excalibur, plus the Pearl, plus EB II (I guess I should update my profile  ).

2. I'm free.

3. Sure.

4. Too many to mention...these moments are why I'm playing these games.

5. Because they can vote, and accuse, and talk behind the scenes, and be helpful...and because we don't have to worry about lynching them.

6. Oh, I've got honor. And can cooperate. And I like crazy concoctions. :sweet: I'm curious.

Also, for the first time, I'm engaging in the fhomess rule: all pictures will be hosted on EB so you won't be blocked at work. :snicker:

This is blatant manipulation and I won't stand for it.

1. I am town. I am not now, nor have I ever been mafia.

2. I can physically only maintain focus on any one topic for a maximum of 8 seconds. I also have a conference that will limit my availability 22-24 April, but will be completely free after that.

3. I like to procrastinate, so I will just think of this as a 1 hour deadline that starts 19 hours after the day ends.

4. Probably this voting fiasco.

5. Vanilla townies are crunchy and good with ketchup.

6. I promise not to tell anyone when I'm metagaming.

I'd love to apply. I mean, I'd really love to apply. This game looks like a riot, and the secret furry inside me can't wait to play with Fabuland figures again, but Real-life is preventing me from devoting the required energy to play. It's been the same for the past two games. I haven't been able to be online 24/7, and it effects my ability to analyze and fake analyze. I thought it'd get better, but both times I managed to screw up rather badly due to lack of time (I don't think I'm actually as bad at playing scum as it would appear, it's just that I haven't been able to muster the time to be convinceing.), so I won't be applying to this game. I think that I'll be able to play again in the summer, but unfortunately that'll mean missing this one. I'll try to watch it though, in my 'copious' spare time.

You actually wrote PMs for days just so you could produce them in case you were caught? I thought you just were on other teams...I'm impressed :oh3:

I'll apply!!

1) I've done Eurodina, the Halloween bloodbath, Def's Bloodbrick, Excalibur 1 and 2, and possibly a few others (can't recall off hand).

2) My focus is easy to do. I do have school during the day, but I have access to the internet. The only reason I may not be able to post at times is because of a play I'm in, and if we advance, my posting ability will be lowered for a month (but we find out if we advance tomorrow).

3)Yes

4)Favorite Mafia moment? Probably the crushing of innocents with chandeliers or the lynching of the stuttering townie.

5) Vanilla townies are important because they fill out the ranks. Not all games need a lot or a few. It depends on who is playing the game, who is running and what abilities are spread out amongst players.

6)Absolutely. I have no shame

I hope I can play! :classic:

Your past Mafia experience

Available in glorious technicolour on my profile.

Your ability to focus on the game over the next 32 days

The whole time? Really? Every single day? :hmpf:

Ok.

Will you be able to keep up with 20 hour NA deadlines?

I've been able to so far, so let's hope so. :look:

Your favorite Mafia moment

Is it wrong of me to say Steampunk?

Well it's still my favourite, whether that's wrong or not, and I'm sure I don't have to specify which bit(s).

Tell me why you think Vanilla Townies are important or how they are most useful

They are the Town. Without them the scum can steamroll to victory, and the Town power roles have no back-up with their actions. The should have no fear of stepping forward and rooting out the scum in the day threads and should consider their vote the most powerful weapon of the Town.

I'd love to play another Hinck game. :sweet:

1. Your past Mafia experience

I've played a few games. We usually end up screwing up when we play closely together..

2. Your ability to focus on the game over the next 32 days

No problems there.

3. Will you be able to keep up with 20 hour NA deadlines?

I'm always vanilla, so that should be no problem at all.

4. Your favorite Mafia moment

Balancing Baritones 3 by poisoning both town and scum, although I had the most fun playing Steampunk Mafia, even if it was only for two days.

5. Tell me why you think Vanilla Townies are important or how they are most useful

I told you I'm always vanilla.

This is what has be worried the most. :look: But I've signed up to all of your games since I started playing mafia and at least you're telling us in advance there's a crazy concoction this time.

We're all going to be assigned roles that are named after other players. So instead of claiming vanilla, you'll have to claim KingoftheZempk.

What?! *huh* Does that mean he shouts "I'm just a bad mafia player who throws in weird character choices! Don't lynch me!"?
