-Carson Haupt- Posted March 26, 2013 (edited) Several years before the Revolword saga began, Cassius decided to host a joust in Burnby to help unify the Guilds. He invited representatives, knights and warriors from all of them, and set up in one of the clearings in the Old Forest. Among the Nocturnians were some odd looking orcs, blood-red and meaner looking than the normal variety. They didn't worry him too much, he just passed them off as another clan. Only later did he realize their significance... joust 002 by Carson Haupt, on Flickr joust 006 by Carson Haupt, on Flickr joust 007 by Carson Haupt, on Flickr I really like this shot. joust 009 by Carson Haupt, on Flickr joust 010 by Carson Haupt, on Flickr joust 011 by Carson Haupt, on Flickr joust 014 by Carson Haupt, on Flickr I really like this shot too! joust 016 by Carson Haupt, on Flickr joust 019 by Carson Haupt, on Flickr It was really hard for me to fit the Mitgardian camp in. I didn't leave much room for them. joust 023 by Carson Haupt, on Flickr The Avalonian box is set on a hill, back into the trees a bit. joust 024 by Carson Haupt, on Flickr Cassius cheers the knights on. He loves jousting! joust 027 by Carson Haupt, on Flickr MUSHROOMS!!! I love this piece. joust 028 by Carson Haupt, on Flickr Some fancy-pants noble is coming up to bother Cassius. Can't he see the game is on?!? :D joust 033 by Carson Haupt, on Flickr I'm really proud of how i managed to make the path look muddy. I hope you liked looking at this as much as I liked building it! Keep bricking, Carson Oh yeah, I'd also like to claim the title Champion of Avalonia with this Moc. Hopefully it is worthy. Gideon Posted March 26, 2013 Nice build! I really like all the details you have put in it, and the photography is great :)
brickboy12 Posted March 26, 2013 I really like this especially the cliff/rock and the way you put all the little camps in. The only thing is tha the ground is a bit flat.
PsyKater Posted March 26, 2013 What a great idea for running horses!
Gideon Posted March 26, 2013 What a great idea for running horses! I agree! Simple, but effective technique. I actually don't know if I've seen that before...?
Mencot Posted March 26, 2013 Whoa nice moc, you have done a great job catching a fantasy/medieval feel. The terrain is clean but detailed. Awesome
-Carson Haupt- Posted March 26, 2013 Thanks you guys. I was going to make the ground more uneven, but I ran out of green slopes.
soccerkid6 Posted March 26, 2013 The different campsites for each guild are very well done Cool trees and the joust is excellent too
kabel Posted March 27, 2013 Pretty cool one, I like how you tried to depict all four guilds!
de Gothia Posted March 27, 2013 Looks great! I love the uruk hai camp! Some friendly advice: The ground seems a little to clean. Add some stones (round plate 1x1) or other colours on the plates to make the ground more lively. Perhaps add more people who watch this joust? Right now it feels like they compete against eachother in the forest. Anyway, great freebuild for sure!
-Carson Haupt- Posted March 27, 2013 Okay, I'll try to do that. I was going to have some stands, but ran out of room.
Mike S Posted March 27, 2013 You have some really nice ideas here. I like the arches used for rails. I think what deGothia means is that there aren't enough people. For example there is only 1 Kaliphlin in the Kaliphlin camp. If this was a public joust, there should be plenty of spectators cheering on the sidelines. -Carson Haupt- Posted March 27, 2013 Actually, the other knight is a Kaliphlin too.
Maxim I Posted March 29, 2013 It is indeed too bad there are not more spectators as this is an Interguild Joust If it were just 2 Avalonians fighting against eachother, I can imagine there are almost no spectators (I mean, seriously, that must be the most boring fight ever as both soldiers cry the moment something hit them) Anyway, I love the details you worked out and the small spots for every Guild with decoration that represent that Guild! -Carson Haupt- Posted April 6, 2013 Thanks! I tried real hard to figure out details for each guild to make them unique.
robuko Posted April 6, 2013 Very effective build Carson. Lots of lovely details, and a very old school simplicity to the layout. The grelf feeding the warg is my favourite.
-Carson Haupt- Posted April 6, 2013 Thanks! I built the Nocturnus campsite first, and the warg is one of my favorite details too.
