My entry for the Mermaid figure.

fishing.jpg

Mr fisherman was just minding his own business, dreaming of a big catch, when suddenly with a splash a mermaid jumped on top of a rock that was sticking out of the water!

As soon as he blinked, she was already gone. Did he see that right? Was it just his imagination? We might never know...

Title: CHICKEN SOUP FOR THE CANNIBAL'S SOUL

Minifig: CHICKEN SUIT GUY

Theme: Adventure

My third (of three) EuroBricks entry. The chicken suit guy is placed is placed in the stew pot...

Detail of stew pot (featuring "boiling water"):

Because the Lego palm leaves pushed me dangerously close to the "two stud overhang" rule I also built a 12x12 "mask frame" that I floated over the vignette to ensure it was never more than 2 studs over in any direction. My mask frame:

Space Invaders

Minifig: Battle Mech

Theme: Space

The battle mech watched the invaders descending on the screen in front of him. The graphics were basic, as were the controls, but then they didn't need to be anything else, they outlined the situation perfectly. The odds didn't look good, but the battle mech would remain in this bunker, defending the planet with the bunker's laser cannon until all of the invaders had been destroyed or the bunker had been destroyed.

This was no game.

The Battle Mech minifig stands on the two studs in the control room at the bottom of the vignette.

Check out the full set on Flickr for alternate angles and photos of the vignette with the Battle Mech minifig included.

Peter Griffin vs. Giant Chicken

Minifig: Chicken Suit Guy

Theme: Family Guy

My entry for this category depicts the beginning of the famous chicken fight from Family Guy. One day while at the grocery store, Peter is handed a coupon by a giant chicken and is delighted at first, but once he gets to the cashier, he finds out that the coupon has expired! *oh2* Enraged, he lunges out of the store's window at the chicken, and so a never-ending battle began...
