@ bbqqq: Before one downloads your LDD .lxf file and possibly "crashes" the program, could you tell us what your computer's Operating System, CPU speed, and RAM is? :look: Did it CRASH your computer, or are you just saying that it COULD crash less-capable computers than yours?

The first one crash my LDD once. (Fixed V2) Win7 x64, i7 3630QM, 8 GB RAM.

This one should be stable, I will fix the first one soon.

The updated V2 of first one should be the best for now. It works with hinge align tool.

I will improve the second one later. done

Just noticed that the original LDD of first one is not fully extended, I will make one later.

Eleven 61927 linear actuators with half stud in steps. (0.4 cm)

To edit parts or assembly sub-parts cordinate:

In LDD extended mode place a 61927 linear actuator .

Change two extendable sub-parts to black color. (real brick metal parts and its head)

Save LXF file.

Open the LXF with winrar or winzip.

Extract the ???.xlfml

Edit the ???.xlfml

You should see text like below post

There are four designIDs mean have four sub-parts for this part assembly.

materials="21" mean red color sub-parts.

materials="26" mean black color sub-parts.

Three long number mean part positon coordinate X,Z,-Y in centimeter unit. ie: -4.4000000953674316, 0.40000000596046448, 1.2000000476837158

So we can compress this linear actuator 1 CM by two ways.

+1 to both X of red color sub-parts or...

-1 to both X of black color sub-parts.

Then save the .xlfml and open it in LDD to see the change. :wink:

FYI: 1stud=0.8 cm, 1brick_height= 0.96 cm

materials="21,0 mean multi-colors part.

decoration="0" mean decoratable part.

With this trick for example you can...

- Change the length of all actuator parts.

- Precisely move any bricks to solves most of LDD collision errors (force peak/fine tune LDD-allowed collision).

- Do the same as Youtube video above.

- Disassemble parts like minfig's arm/hand/leg to make special MOC.

- Disassemble turn table(can remove all errors of 10189 Taj Mahal).

That last render with the minifigs is just so good :thumbup:

PS: where do all the tops of the turntables go (in the Taj Mahal model)? Are they moved "to the side"?

Thanks, Superkalle. There is another trick for the last rendering that I will post later.

It is a tricks to make minifig's hand to hold a plate or tile (very quick & work with all arm/hand poses).

I tried to completly remove tops of the turntables but not success yet. So just put them floating high above.

Then use same trick as decors built sail, edit materials="999" so they will not shown in LDD.

I can say that I have since a long time put it as a "fan request" to the LDD Team to separate the turntable top and bottom. Let's hope we get it soon :classic:

I've difficulties to load the images you are posting these days.

They load very slow and often don't end to load.

Do you notice the same problem?

Does anyone have a Lxf. file of just a minifig hand. Ive tried editing but best I got was "part was not placed correctly and has been removed"

Hey guys!


I'm having some trouble connecting the default assembly shock absorber, since I can't expand it in any way.
Googling here and there I found this thread and then downloaded the 41475 mod, as it appeared to be the perfect one for my model in LDD.

Unfortunately it doesn't connect when I try to put it between a cross/peg connector and a 2m cross on a fixed structure. I tried different measures among the ones provided but with no avail.

I'll post some pics for the sake of clarity:

As you can see something is wrong with alignment, and I don't wnow what is causing that...

on top of that, after a couple hour messing with that, while taking those snapshots, the whole parts suddenly connected:

I really don't know how to fix this, so any advice is really welcome!! :D

 

PS: sorry if I'm necrothreading but I can't post new threads yet, as I'm a new user (already posted into the new member area, waiting for the tenth post).

How about this for a modified shock absorber? Lower part from a big SA, upper part and spring from a small SA.

I also have this; I found this files on LDD gallery website a while back. I don't know how this dude did it. Both of the linear actuators have been retracted and a small shock absorber in every size imaginable. For the big shock absorber I only have fully expanded one. All of these work flawless. Download from my Bricksafe.
