501st AT-RT MOC

Recommended Posts

The other day I picked up a couple of the AT-RT sets, and thought they were pretty neat, had some cool parts, but they were HUGE. Well in comparison to the scale they shoulda been, so I took the liberty of deconstructing them, and making them more to scale, here's the result;

And the 501st against General Pong Krell!

I hope you enjoyed this little MOC :classic:

This was done by ramjarjamjar also as sort of a protest to the scale of TLG's model.

Both of you guys have done a really good job and they sure look a lot better this way. TLG could have put three of these in a box with three new 501st troopers and it would've been a dozen times better set. The way it is now is just kind of :wacko: .

It's fun, I think the front is too big.

still I like Lego's version of the one in the turbo tank more

Very nice i like these more than the new ones. Are all the parts you used to make them come from the set or a mix of the parts from the set and other bits you already had?

Thank you, it's a mix from the set and parts I already had. The majority of the leg parts arent available in the set

Do you have any larger images of this?

I agree, but I dunno, I like the way it turned out. LEGOs from the turbo tank was definitely the best one they made, size wise, but I thought it was a little small.

Thank you all for the nice comments :thumbup:

I recently used bricklink for parts to build 5 more like the one that came with the turbo tank. I built 3 blue ones and 2 dark red/gray ones. I had to get the parts from a few different sellers. I'm still waiting on some parts from my last purchase. I like yours too, and I might have gone with your designs if I had seen them earlier.

Great detail, great scale, great poseability, a great improvement over the official one but the head is a little to big in my humble opinion.

The only complaint I have with this set is not the AT-RT itself, but the minifigs included. Why did they have to include a yoda in there! I would've loved it more if they'd just included 1 more 501st clone trooper in there. I don't even care if they toss in another battle droid! Stupid yoda and light saber made the cost of this set too high. Good thing I got it on discount.

Wow, I've built numerous AT-RT's, but not as good as this one! (Although mine were built a few years back :tongue:)

Really like what you did to the original set :sweet:

That's brilliant, I love how you've kept much of the official set's design whilst creating something that fits-in with the scale of other vehicles. :thumbup:
