Mraz Skintas Posted January 27, 2013 The other day I picked up a couple of the AT-RT sets, and thought they were pretty neat, had some cool parts, but they were HUGE. Well in comparison to the scale they shoulda been, so I took the liberty of deconstructing them, and making them more to scale, here's the result; Right side Left side Lowered so the driver can get on Rear Front (I'm not sure why, but this image makes it look crooked Compared to the new BARC with sidecar Standing Tall with Rex, to show the scale to a minifig Mostly blown up And the 501st against General Pong Krell! I hope you enjoyed this little MOC -Skintas
MandaloretheLesser Posted January 27, 2013 Very nice i like these more than the new ones. Are all the parts you used to make them come from the set or a mix of the parts from the set and other bits you already had?
Only Sinner Posted January 27, 2013 This was done by ramjarjamjar also as sort of a protest to the scale of TLG's model. [http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=77591] Both of you guys have done a really good job and they sure look a lot better this way. TLG could have put three of these in a box with three new 501st troopers and it would've been a dozen times better set. The way it is now is just kind of . TWP Posted January 27, 2013 It's fun, I think the front is too big. still I like Lego's version of the one in the turbo tank more here a recolored, 501st one.
Mraz Skintas Posted January 27, 2013 Very nice i like these more than the new ones. Are all the parts you used to make them come from the set or a mix of the parts from the set and other bits you already had? Thank you, it's a mix from the set and parts I already had. The majority of the leg parts arent available in the set Do you have any larger images of this? There ya go It's fun, I think the front is too big. still I like Lego's version of the one in the turbo tank more I agree, but I dunno, I like the way it turned out. LEGOs from the turbo tank was definitely the best one they made, size wise, but I thought it was a little small. Thank you all for the nice comments -'Skintas
Sirtank Posted January 28, 2013 I recently used bricklink for parts to build 5 more like the one that came with the turbo tank. I built 3 blue ones and 2 dark red/gray ones. I had to get the parts from a few different sellers. I'm still waiting on some parts from my last purchase. I like yours too, and I might have gone with your designs if I had seen them earlier. Tom Jurassic Posted August 21, 2013 Any chance of a Tutorial? I really want to do this with my AT-RT now! :)
Nom Carver Posted August 21, 2013 Great detail, great scale, great poseability, a great improvement over the official one but the head is a little to big in my humble opinion.
FuzzyBallz Posted August 22, 2013 The only complaint I have with this set is not the AT-RT itself, but the minifigs included. Why did they have to include a yoda in there! I would've loved it more if they'd just included 1 more 501st clone trooper in there. I don't even care if they toss in another battle droid! Stupid yoda and light saber made the cost of this set too high. Good thing I got it on discount.
commdr_neyo Posted August 22, 2013 Wow, I've built numerous AT-RT's, but not as good as this one! (Although mine were built a few years back ) Really like what you did to the original set
Scorpiox Posted August 22, 2013 That's brilliant, I love how you've kept much of the official set's design whilst creating something that fits-in with the scale of other vehicles.
